Stenciling Wedding Wrapping Paper (+video!)

Monday, August 20, 2018

Hello!  I wanted to share a video I filmed of me creating some wrapping
paper using a couple stencils, modeling paste and ink.

You can click on the video below or HERE to go to my YouTube channel.

I had this roll of Kraft wrapping paper that I used to cover with the White Pearl Modeling Paste from The Crafter’s Workshop.  I used it in combination with a newly released intricate floral-like stencil called Ocean Window.  In the space I used a hybrid stamping ink to add the worlds from another stencil, “She Said Yes.”

The paste ended up covering most of the paper, so only a little Kraft showed through.
After wrapping my gift, I added a garland I made using pompoms in a few of the bride’s colors.
I was really pleased with the way it turned out and I’ll be trying it out again soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SHINE BRIGHT like a...Scrapbook Circle DT Choice

Monday, September 12, 2016

Hi there!  I am happy to share my DT Choice for the Scrapbook Circle Blog post.  The September kit, “Shine Bright” is an amazing combination of colors, patterns and embellishments!  I was so inspired by the Amy Tan watercolor resist cards that I created this page using a simple grid.

I rounded all the corners of the patterned papers and my photo to match the resist card that I painted a pale teal color.

The little bag of star sequins included in the main kit were a perfect match for this color palette and the gorgeous background paper in the wood grain pattern.

I used one square for the title, inspired by the kit name, one for the photo, one for the sequin pocket and the resist card.

I added some black paint splatters onto the background paper and stitched a few lines thru some of the grid pieces.  I also added stitching to the left and right sides of the background.

This color combination never bores me and I will always be inspired by these lovely hues!

noted - Scrapbook Circle March

Friday, March 18, 2016

The March Scrapbook Circle kit is so fresh and the promise of Spring makes me want to document signs of new life!!  Especially with all the lovely pieces in the 'Oh Happy Day' kit.

I had this Instagram photo of an orchid that (unbelievably) I got to re-bloom again!  This was the first layout I made using the March kit and I made it quickly & loose.

Using embellishments that both complemented and contrasted the photo, I layered vellum, patterned paper and several pieces of the washi tape along the left border. The large script acrylic word that is a Scrapbook Circle exclusive, was perfect for the title.  I added several die cuts from Pinkfresh Studio on the right side of the photo and that cute clip from We R Memory Keepers.

With a good bit of journaling, I splattered some ink and paint around the edges of my layout.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great beginning to the weekend!

MOON DANCE - Scrapbook Circle DT Choice

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Hi there stargazers!  This is Jenni here sharing my Be Real layout using the February ‘Only You’ Main kit and the ‘Date Night’ Add-on.

Inspired by this amazing green marbled paper from Crate Paper, I created a page that turned out to be my favorite from the month!  These Instagram photos are from a night we were looked at the moon through the telescope and were the other reason I chose this pattern.  I loved the paper, but thought it was almost too powerful as a full sheet, but I still wanted to use it all around the page.

Using a range of circle punches from 2.5″ to a confetti punch, I punched lots of various pieces from the paper.  I arranged them into a very loose large circle that I traced onto a piece of plain cardstock.  I added these amazing iridescent Foil Alpha stickers from Studio Calico that looked perfect for a layout about stargazing, or moon gazing!

I added a strip of paper under my photos and a couple of the puffy stickers from Heidi Swapp.  Finally I scattered some other glitter stickers and a couple metal clips from We R Memory Keepers around and stitched through all of it in a very loose circle.  I had two photos from the night, but the second photo wasn’t very good, except for the moon, so layering them on top of each other let that part show and gave it some dimension and interest.

Thanks for stopping by the Blog today and have an amazing weekend!

A FEW FAVORITE THINGS - Scrapbook Circle February Sketch

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Happy Valentine's everyone!
I stretched the Scrapbook Circle February sketch quite a bit using the 'Only You' main kit and the 'Date Night' Add-on.  The February kit honestly has SO many embellishments I just decided that excess was in going to be required for my projects this month!  Here is the sketch below:

Like I said, I really pushed the sketch to its limit, choosing to use 3 photos and changing the rest up a bit!  Instead of any kind of media behind the photos, I arranged them into a horizontal banner along with some of the exclusive tags, other stickers and chipboard pieces.

I made an additional "banner" at the top instead of a top border and moved the title above the photos.  I adore these gold dipped Thickers from American Crafts and needed more room for the title!  Some of the letters that are symmetrical, such as H, N, I  O, I turned upside down just to add some interest.

Using the stripes in the patterned background paper, I added a bit of journaling along the bottom stripe.

I thought this page would be fun to share on Valentine's since these photos represent some of my favorite treats!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and have an amazing Sunday!
