DT work for combo at Les Papiers de Pandore

Earlier this month there was a post up on the Pandore blog sharing a few pages made by DT members for a pretty new colour combination.
 This is my page here:
A inspiration for my page I used this latest sketch from Sketchabilities:

And here is the beautiful colour combo:

For the grey colour I used a special technique for a relief patterned background.
Using my new Cameo I cut several scalloped borders and making them overlap  I glued them to my page underneath the photo.
The titleword 'Remember' and the speechbubble 'I love you' were also made with the Silhouette. Flowers are mostly from Prima and Papirdesign.

I sewed the title to my page. I find that works so well when the title is less bulky like here.

The green canvas banner is by Prima and come plain off white. I used a mist by Studio Calico
to add the right green colour to it.

 That's all for now.
The upcoming week will be quite a busy one with the week-long PaperHaus bloghop starting on
June 1st and my turn to post on my DT blogs coming up as well in the next days....
So I'll have plenty to share soon!
Hugs!!

A page in blue for DT Papirdesign

Hello again my dear scrappy friends! I wanted to share a page I did for a recent post at Papirdesign showcasing a few of my favourite things from them.
Ok, let me just say that choosing just a few  favourite products is not easy since Papirdesign has so many great ones to choose from!

But,...those who know me a little will probably guess that I am in love with all the beautfiful flowers. You would be right, but then there's the alphas, -and the bling swirls,...and ,...and...
Just imagine all those great colours...Another favourite is the great chipboard.

I made the white title with my new Cameo and used a stencil for all the white gessoed dots.
And here are some closeups of some of the pretty mini roses and chipboards from Papirdesign .

Just a short one from me today as I have so much to prepare for my daughters upcoming graduation.
Come to think of it I will share a few pictures from her prom with you soon.
Hugs!!

Pandore 'Focus on woodgrain paper' and a PaperHaus blog hop to come!

Hi there and happy Friday to you!!
Well, I found this post among the drafts on my blog supposed to be published months ago. :-)
I actually made these cards for a special feature on how to use the beautiful woodgrain paper belonging to the 'Lovely Birds' collection from Les papiers de Pandore. My cards are more on the simple side than my normal style, but I had limited time and wanted to take part.
HERE s a link back to the Pandore blog and you can see the very beautiful projects of my fellow DT members.

I'll be back in a day o two to share one more of my projects that were up on their respective manu blog this week but that I have yet to post here.

Before I go I just wanted to share this graphic with you:

I hope you will stay tuned and join us.
The whole set up will be a little different this time to make it less monumental!!

Hugs, and enjoy the week end!!

'Memories' using the new Inkido 'Beautiful Memories 2'

A few days ago I received the new collection from Inkido in the mail. I love the new colours they have come up with, and all is made to mix and match perfectly with the previous release
'Beautiful Memories'.

Here is my first lo with the new papers:
(I noticed  there's a little fly that wanted to be in the shot,...can you see it?)

And of course the usual lot of close ups,...-if you get bored just scroll on down... :-)

A short while ago I bought my new toy from Cassie at Paper Issues
Yup, I am now the proud owner of a brand new Silhouette Cameo.
I was a bit worried that I would find the learning process a bit tedious and just leave it in the box more or less, but that has not been the case. Together with my 12 year-old I unpacked it and installed it and it was actually not hard at all. I imagine it will take some time before I feel I can grasp all the details and possibilities but I can already do many of the things I wanted it for!!

( Remember that using my code BENTE20 will take 20% off the price at checkout at PI. )

I based my page on several layers.
All the papers I layered  are from the new Inkido collection called 'Beautiful Memories 2'.
I have mainly used the beige group of papers here as well as one of the pink ones.
The first layer got some gesso and a lick of paint around the edges. I used one of my fave Martha Stewart large punches on layer number two. And finally for my third background sheet I arrived at using my new Cameo toy. cut out a grid on almost a whole sheet of paper. I think that is so neat!!

Even the title was cut with my new electronic toy and I love the way it turned out.
The titles were actually one of the main reasons I started looking into buying one.

A couple of more close ups of the pretty Inkido products.
I have added a few Prima flowers here but the majority of the flowers are from Inkido.
And I also added some of their bling stones in pink.

I am also entering this into the challege to use doilies on your project at Little Red Wagon.

I hope you liked my page and thanks for any friendly messages you may leave me :-)

Hugs!!

Card and tutorial for DT at Papirdesign.

Hi  today I am here to share a card  and a simple tutorial on how to make a pinwheel. Those  pinwheels make such a cute design element on cards and layouts.

Sånn ble bursdagskortet jeg laget for Papirdesign :
This is how my card for Papirdesign turned out:

Her kommer beskrivningen på 'snurrehjulet'. Jeg har laget det i punktform 1-4:

I wrote the instructions in a few easy to follow steps:

1. Start with a square piece of paper. Good idea to choose one that has matching
front and back as you will see both sides.

2. Cut along the lines about 2/3ds towards the center.
The small pinwheel for a card-topper is 6X6 cm.

3 and 4. Fold the corners towards the middle one by one.
You can glue them down or make a small hole and secure with a brad.

When you have completed these easy steps you can add a paper rose on top of your
embellishment like I did for my card. Or why not use a matching button...?

The pinwheels make cute decorations for birthday-parties.
You can easily adapt the size to your need.
The one in my hand was made using a paper size 15X15 cm.

Jeg har brukt  / I used :

Lykke-Blå pioner
Blue paper roses
Blue ribbons/lace

Det var allt for idag!

That's all from me today!!

Klem / Hugs

Blog hop winner revealed.

Hi friends! It is in the middle of the night,...almost 02.00!
I have not been scrapping much lately as I have been so busy doing other stuff!
Some of it nice and/or interesting and some of it not so interesting.
A couple of days ago on Tuesday I was to a concert over the bridge  in Denmark . I saw the amazing Bruce Springsteen and that was such a fabulous experience it made me wonder why I haven't simply attended ALL his concerts... :-)
And tonight I have been with two of my daughters at Malmö Arena to see the jury final of Eurovision Song Contest which I also loved!! So many great songs!!

OK, anyway,....the reason I am writing at this time of the night is that I have a name to share.
Like the ESC I have been waiting to pick a special blog hop winner for the prize here on my own blog. I did that just now using Random-org right here on my page.

So with no more delays here is the winner

''Cabasse Summer'' for Inkido DT

Today I have made a page for you showcasing a couple of photos from our holidays last Summer.
I had a lot of fun using some mixed media techniques on  my layout and getting really messy...
-Not to mention my scrap area... :-)

This goes to show that even though the Inkido papers and embellishments may look vintage or romantic you can still use them to make a project that is a little edgy and even a little black around the edges. This time I used a small stamp from Prima Marketing with a dark brick motive to make the outline. I only used half the stamp and stamped several times.

Most of the paper flowers here are by Inkido and even the half pearls in different shades of blue
and aqua. I used a mask by Prima and some blue paste.

The small butterflies were cut out from Inkido papers. I cut out many at a time and keep them in a small plastic bag to pick from later.

I used a butterfly stamp as well as a text stamp on my white doily shapes. The doilies are two different models from Spellbinders.

For the yellow areas I just dripped a couple of drops of glommermist on the paper and smeared it out here and there with my fingers. I enjoy doing that especially in areas that have been primed with gesso because that softens  effect.

That cool hanging lamp-thingy is really super awesome. It is one of Ingvild Bolme's trinkets.
Simply fabulous!! I thought it went rather well with all the black.

Thanks for dropping by. And thanks for any messages, -I love reading them!!

Time for the May challenge at Scrap for Help using ''Papirdesign''.

For the latest challenge at Scrap for Help I decided to go for some lovely lovely lilac and Spring like papers from two different collections by Norwegian Papirdesign. I just love that colour!!

This is my layout;

The challenge this time is to use a napkin somewhere on your layout.

The little cutie in the photos is my goddaughter. I took the photos one day I was looking after her
at our place.

You can easily see here how I used the napkin. I tore off the upper patterned layer and cut out the leaf motive and then attatched it on either side of the large white bloom (Manorhouse Creation).

The canvas banner by Prima Marketing got a dash of yellow glimmermist and some gesso on top of that to tone down the colour a bit. The mini roses are from Papirdesign and only show a few of the gorgeous colours they have and in several sizes too. Awesome!! I would like to remind you that we have an awesome prize feady for the winner of our Papirdesign blog hop ending on May 17th. Click on the link and you can read all about it!!

The chipboard ornament is also by Papirdesign and it says something like ''Our fave little girl''.
The honeycombe chipboard is by Wycinenka, I just love their lazer cuts!

The brick overlay is part of a larger sheet by Hambly that I have been hoarding. The bricks around the edges I drew using a mask as a template and then filled in with some ProMarker and some gesso.

I hope you will check out this latest challenge and see what napkins you have that would look good on a scrapbook page :-) !!
