Another Valentine ...

One more Valentine to show and then I'm done.  This one will be going to my hubby.  My starting point was heading over to the Mod Squad Challenge Blog to see what they had up this week.  It's a Valentine challenge with some glitter.  This is the front of the card ...

Now for the inside ...

Stamps:  Monica Romances (House Mouse)
Paper:  Red (Bazzil); White, Black (SU)
DP:  Christmas Noel (Recollections)
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics; Printing 101 cartridge (Cricut); flourish die, dazzling diamonds, stickles (SU); circle dies (Spellbinders); glitter pen (Sakura)

Unfortunately, you cannot see the glitter on this card at all.  On the front I used cherry cobbler stickles on the little heart.  Each letter on the inside is colored with a glitter pen as are the little white hearts.  The bigger heart has dazzling diamonds on it.  This is one of those cards that looks completely different in real life.  This card measures 3.5" x 5.5".

The card design came from Splitcoast Stampers ... a Building Block card.  Click here for directions.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

Sunny Side Up ...

Today's card was inspired from the sketch over at The Sweet Stop.  They had a great sketch with the spin of using a sunflower.  Here is my starting point ...

This is the finished product ...

Stamps:  Sunny Side Up (House Mouse)
Paper:  Apricot Appeal, White (SU)
DP:  Simply Delightful (MME)
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics, gems (Paper Studio), word window punch, pop dots (SU)

I'm back from a vacation to New Jersey and a quick weekend trip to Atlanta.  My son went back Auburn yesterday and my daughter left today after a break from her work schedule.  So what does one do when the empty nest hits again ... go to the craft room and make a card.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

Candy Cane Valentine's ...

I suppose this image is to be used for Christmas but after coloring it, I'm sending it as a Valentine.  This is another stamp that my daughter gave me for my birthday.  I adore these cute guys!

I finally got a chance to play with The Paper Players this week.  They have a CAS sketch ...

Here is the finished card using this great layout ...

Stamps:  Candy Gram (HM), Everyday Flexible Phrases (SU)
Paper:  Poppy Parade, White (SU)
DSP:  Poppy Parade (SU)
Ink:  Poppy Parade (SU), Memento Black
Accessories:  colored pencils (Prismacolor), square and lacey dies,(Spellbinders), Baby's Breath embossing folder (CB), gems, decorative punch, baker's twine, dimensionals, sponge dauber (SU)

I embossed my piece of designer paper to add a little distressing to the card since I used so much red.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,

With a little love ....

Today's card will be going postal to Bethany as a little congratulations card.  She is a nursing student at UAB and will graduate in May.  This semester she is doing her preceptorship (think that is what it is called) in the trauma and burn unit at UAB Hospital.  She gave me this stamp as a birthday present and I thought this was the perfect time to use it.

Stamps:  Dr. Amanda (House Mouse), Circle of Friendship (SU)
Paper:  White, Melon Mambo (SU)
DSP:  Melon Mambo (SU)
Ink:  Memento Black, Versamark
Accessories:  Pink embossing powder (Recollections), circle dies (Spellbinders), Copics, Pretty in Pink ribbon, dimensionals (SU)

The little circle on the corner had to put there because I smeared the ink ... yikes.  Unfortunately, it didn't not photograph well but it says "congratulations."  Bethany is a girl of pink so this card should suit her well.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Back to School with The Paper Players

Today's card is for The Paper Players Back to School challenge.  Since I have two heading back to college this weekend, this challenge was right up my alley.  Here is what I came up with ...

Stamps:  Bear-ied in Paperwork (Stampabilities), Button Button
Paper:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, White
DSP:  Cherry Cobbler
Ink:  Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Nestabilities rectangle and scallop dies, circle punch, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, corner rounder, ticket punch, Baker's twine, brad
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I had a regular button on the card but decided to go with the paper one as it is so much easier to mail.  To me, it has the same effect...especially going to my son.

I used an old MOJO sketch (139) from May 2010.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Freshly Made Sketches #2

Wanted to do a quick post of two cards that I made for Bethany and Michael.  I went to Freshly Made Sketches to get started.  Be sure to click on over and check it out.  This was my starting point ...

This was my ending point for Bethany's card ...

Stamps:  Bliss, House Mouse
Paper:  White, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade
Ink:  Memento Black, Poppy Parade
Accessories:  Early Expresso baker's twine, Nestabilities rectangle and circle dies, circle punch, finial press embossing folder, Bic Markers
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

This was my ending point for Michael's card ...

Stamps:  Fabulous Phrases, House Mouse
Paper:  White, Not Quite Navy, Poppy Parade
Ink:  Memento Black, Poppy Parade
Accessories:  Prismacolor pencils, OMS, CB star embossing folder and star die, Early Expresso baker's twine, Nestabilities rectangle dies
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

Here is a picture of the two cards together.  Kinda cute, huh?

I'm heading to the craft show today with two good friends.  It is going to be a great day ... my 22nd anniversary and Michael is coming home for the weekend .. only because he has an orthodontic appointment this afternoon.  Otherwise he would not drive the 3 1/2 hours.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ....

Have a great day,
Pam~

Dreams ....

I had some free time yesterday and got to do some stamping.  I bought this cute stamp a while back and had never used it.  The one good thing about the House Mouse stamps, they are always fun to color.

I pulled out some retired paper and went to work ... well, I should say play cause it is always so much fun to make a card.

Stamps:  House Mouse - Flower Bed, Fabulous Phrases
Paper:  Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, White
DSP:  Ruby Red
Ink:  Memento Black, Ruby Red
Accessories:  circle and itty bitty punch, Prismacolor Markers, rhinestones, dimensionals
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

I had a great time at Auburn and I think it will be a great fit for Michael.  He seems excited about it all ... except the dorm size.  When I dropped him off at the dorm after dinner, he said "I'm going back to my jail cell."  Like everything else when you head off to college, it will be a big adjustment.  Can you tell my son has never had to share a room?

Have a great weekend,
Pam~

Sleeping Under Flowers

My collection of House Mouse stamps needed a little love so I decided to ink one up today.  I chose this one so I could color and use some pastal cardstock.  I used the layout from Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge number 339.  I also wanted to use the sponging technique for the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week.  Click on over to the Pals and show them your favorite technique.  A big bonus this week ... lots of blog candy being given away.

Here is what the 'ole inky fingers created ...

Stamps:  House Mouse - Sleeping Under Flowers
Paper:  So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, White
DSP:  So Saffron
Ink:  Black, So Saffron, More Mustard, Wild Wasabi, Old Olive
Accessories:  Prismacolor Markers, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestabilities square die, sponge daubers, ribbon, rhinestones, sharpie marker, dimensionals
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.
  • I discovered today that Apricot Appeal and So Saffron ribbon are the exact same color.  The ribbon used on this card is actually Apricot Appeal.
  • Lovin' the technique of coloring the rhinestones.  Just wish the SU markers worked so I could get an exact match.
I'm heading out to lunch with Michael.  Want to get as much quality time as possible before he heads off to Auburn and it's not everyday the boy wants to go out with his Mom.

Have a great day,
Pam~

It started with a sketch ...

and ended with a card...a graduation card that is.

Stamps:  The Graduate (Stampabilities)
Paper:  Confetti White, Pumpkin Pie, Early Expresso
DSP:  Pumpkin Pie (retired)
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  circle cutter, corner rounder; Non-SU brads, Prisma Markers
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

The brown and orange that I used for this card are the school colors.  I wanted something that was not bulky to mail and simple to make for mass producing. This sketch was the perfect solution for that!

I tried to make this cute little mouse masculine since I had used the stamp for Bethany's graduation announcement card also.  Sure didn't want Michael to think he was getting a girl mouse on his card. Think it worked???  Below is the card that I made for Bethany's graduation back in 2009.

I hope you will find some time to play around at the Pals Paper Arts with this great sketch!

Have a great day,
Pam~

An Aspirin a day ...

Today's card was given to my stamping buddy's husband who had to have surgery earlier this month.  I thought this stamp worked perfectly for what I wanted.  Unfortunately, he had to have bypass surgery and one of the requirements after this surgery is to take an aspirin everyday.

Stamps:  House Mouse, Simple Sayings
Paper:  Creamy Carmel, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, White
Ink:  Really Rust, Black
Accessories:  ticket punch, button brad (non SU), Prismacolor markers
All supplies are SU unless otherwise noted.

A very simple card and I was pleased with the end result.  Sometimes the stamped image is all you need to show off.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and got everything you wanted.  I did and had a great time with my family.  We had a beautiful white Christmas ... about 4 inches of snow.

Very unusual for those of us in Alabama.  We couldn't get to the early bird specials yesterday because of the weather.  So this morning it is off to the mall to see what kind of bargains we can find.

Have a great day,
Pam~

Not quite the MOJO sketch ...

When I went into my craft room yesterday morning, I knew I wanted to use this week's MOJO sketch.  I really liked it and knew something good would come out of it.  Here is the sketch ...

Time to start creating.  Hmmm, when I looked at my cute little mouse, I realized this sketch was not for him.  I had colored the mouse on Wednesday night before really taking the MOJO layout into account.  Guess you can tell that I work backwards sometimes.  Oh, the joys (or heartaches) of having no real plan in place.

I may be 45, but I still like to color ... it's relaxing too.  Anyway, rather than babble all my thoughts, this is what I ended up with ...

Stamps:  House Mouse by Stampabilities
Paper:  Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, Confetti White
DSP:  Poppy Parade, So Saffron
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  Prisma markers, Nestabilities oval dies, brads, Early Expresso ribbon, CB edge embossing folder
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Ok, my card didn't come out like the sketch so it will only be posted here.  I do have say, even though my card is different from the MOJO sketch, it really did make putting this card together much easier.  Guess I'll just have to go stamp some more .... darn.  :)

Have a great day

San Diego bound...

I'm headed to the west coast today for a week so won't be stamping.  This time I'm actually happy to be away from my craft room for a while.  Looking forward to enjoying San Diego's perfect weather.

Yesterday was the release of  Stampin' Up's retired lists of stamps and accessories. We are all getting ready for the new catalog, which comes out July 1st. I'm so excited to see what is new besides the color renovation. I did get a sneek peek at few new items. Of course, I had to place an order. It will still be like a vacation when I come home to a SU! box. The fun won't stop until I have to do the laundry.

This card was actually stamped for Bethany while she was away at college. I used one of the cute fellows from my House Mouse collection. Prisma pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits) were used to color the image. The designer paper came from a pack which I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I add SU! bashful blue for a splash of blue and to tie in the stamps. I ran my blue strip through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder to add some texture. I love texture!

I hope you have a wonderful week and do something that makes you smile and laugh!

Graduation Card

I made this card for my nephew's graduation.  His school colors are gold and black.  This is the closest gold color paper I had in my paper stash and it is from Hobby Lobby.  The designer paper is also from Hobby Lobby...it is big pack of different black and white patterns.

I started off with my House Mouse graduation stamp inked in black.  Prisma colored pencils and mineral spirits were used to color the cute little guy.  The congratulation stamp is from Stampin' Up! All Year Cheer.  The SU! ticket punch was used on the corners and then gold brads were added.  The cuttlebug star dies and the cuttlebug were used to cut the stars out.

I was really pleased with the outcome of this card.  I hope my nephew likes it as much as I do.  The children and I are headed out to see his graduation on Thursday.  From what I've been told, this should be a "different" graduation.  They live in a small town in Georgia and it will be held outside.  I hear some folks bang on pots and pans...hmmmm.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Best Daughter...She really is!

I really do have the best daughter...she likes to stamp with me when she is home!   Bethany is at college, UAB, majoring in nursing and I try and send her a card a week.  Unfortunately, I have not been the best mom and sent one every week this month.

For this card I used Bazzill cardstock and designer paper.  The image is one of my cute house mouse stamps by Stampabilities.  I love those little guys! I have a collection of them that I keep out for display.

Prisma markers were used to color the image.  Nestabilities circle dies were used to cut out the mouse and bear and the SU! oval punches were used for the sentiment.

The little mouse doesn't look so happy here...that's me missing Bethany.

I believe we have finally sprung into spring.  It is supposed to be very nice this week.  I hope everyone gets to go outside and enjoy the sun...get your vitamin D.  Thanks for stopping by...
