Dogathon 2009
16 August 2009
I know I've been a naughty pup for neglecting my blog. I miss everyone here. By the way, we signed up for a new speedier broadband. Hopefully, I can get myself back on track.
Last Sunday, we went for the UPM's annual Dogathon at Serdang. This is we gave the Dogathon run a miss. Don't ask me why. Anyhow, I'm not as energetic as I used to be. 4 runs on the agility ring and I'm exhausted.

Sneak Peek: MRDO
Yesterday was the annual Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day 2008. We reached Central Park as early as 8am. I ran around to blow off some steam and did some heeling exercise. Then we found a pawfect spot to settle our stuff. I'm pretty lonely on that day because my friend, Mr. Mafia is missing in action.
The first game was the Hurdle Race. Ms Owner the thoughtless one, thought it will be pretty cool to run me offleash. So off I went and did a round of zoomie to impress the crowd. At the same time, I can sense the volcano eruption is boiling in her head. Thus, I quickly gather meself and zoomed back to first hurdle and off I went and cleared them all. Phew! Luckily, we still manage a 2nd spot. In a way, she's happy for the 2nd place because we got 2 packs of dog food, instead of one, which is offered for 1st (with human goodie hamper) and 3rd placing. See? I knew about that all along, that's why I went for a zoomie to delay my timing.
For the 1st time ever, I failed in Simon Says. Her brain had lost its quick thinking due to old age, I suppose. Then the bad news for getting 4th place in Longest Stay. With Mr. Mafia MIA-ing, I thought I stand a good chance. If only I hold on a little longer, I might have scrap through. Later that day, Groovy and Kimi Chai came after their training lesson at Pet-n-You, and together we threesome joined the 60 weave poles challenge. We weave and weave, till we were drunked dogs. Groovy did his classic last pole pop off syndrome, while Kimi losing gear during the final stage. As for me, my owner got out of breath from chanting 'weave, weave, weav, wea, we, v, v.....'. Finally, Kimi Chai did us proud for claiming the 3rd place. Well done, kid.

Dogathon 2008
The day started off with the traditional 3.5 km Dogathon race at 8.30am sharp. As the registration Q was moving at the pace of snail, we were concerned that we might not make it to the starting line in time. Anyway, we did made it there and met up with Groovy. I ended the race as 1st runner up in maxi class, while Groovy was the champ for mini dog category. What a relief to us, as this year we did not train for it. She just made a strong mental note: 'Don't stop although you felt like collapsing'. She will have plenty of opportunity to collapse later. Nonetheless, I did contributed to slow us down by having pitstop to pee and poo during the run.
The Pet-n-You demonstration were a crowd attraction. Frisbee, Flyball, Tricks, Freestyle and Obedience, you name it. Groovy showcasing some of his new moves together with a refreshing new song apart from his routine 'Save d Last Dance'.
I played my favourite Master Hunt game and unfortunately got myself stuck somewhere in the middle. The outcome was I turned out to be 3rd. Ginger made up to my failure by claiming the 1st place. As for 'Alien Says', it was not much obedience orientated, thus it took a very long time to get the winners. She got me knock-out by messing up with my right and left paw. While, Scruffy won during the 1st round. Later, she team up with Ginger and won in the 2nd round.
Not to forget, the Pet-n-You 5th Agility trial was also ongoing. She walked around the entire premise with me non-stop with the only thing in mine 'A tired dog is a good dog'. Okay, I certified that I'm indeed really tired, I need a rest. I promise I will not zoom away.
Drum rolls. The moment that was highly anticipated. To witness herself whether the crazy mutt will zoom off or not. Thank God, finally I'm not a disgrace to my family. This is the first time that despite losing, she felt thrill. But now I'm the one who was dissapointed with her. What the hell with all her mayhem crosses. She disorientated my flow and nearly cause me to crash to the broad jump. Shame on her. Anyway, she told me that I shall will remain in Jumper class till the doomsday.
The eventful day came to an end. Time for a group picture with my pals, Scruffy, Ginger and Tasha. See you again next year.
P/s: Hope next year they will get sponsor that provide dog food and treats for my materialistic owner.

Malaysia 3rd Dog Olympic Day 2008
We thought of delaying this post until she manage grab as many photos as possible from someone else. At the same time, she's afraid of amnesia and forgotten what to brag about. This year, the Dog Olympic Day was not as crowded as previous year, might be due to the MKA Dog Show scheduled on the same day.
We signed up for the Agility Trial. No class being specify, only maxi and mini dogs category. My pal claimed that it looks like a Snooker course, although I had totally no idea about it. All I heard before is Steeplechase. The fact is, the course is a non-regular agility course. Seeing Hannah have to 'fuss' aka 'heel' from one end of the ring to the opposite end just to do the next obstacle without going off-course, speak volumes. Bravo to the teams who manage to pull this off with minimum faults. Congratulations to Amber and Cami who appear to be among the top finishers.
Even after 10 contestant had finished their run, my handler's vision of the course remain very hazy. To save her from embrassment, standing in the middle wondering where to head next, I decided to take off by myself running and circling the field on my own. She stare at me with her laser eye that's capable of burning through my head. 'Oooops, I did it again'. So she paid RM30 just to let me put my paws on the dog walk and A frame.
However, that was no time for regret, mourning or busy pissing each other. We composed ourselves and concentrate on our remaining workload of the day. As usual, I succeed in Simon Say again for the 3rd time and the game was getting more and more obedience orientated. Previously, their emphasize alot on 'down stay'. 'Down stay' while your owner jump over and running around you. This time, they emphasize on 'stand stay'. 'Stand stay' while your owner run around you and walk away 20 steps.
There was also hurdle race, which I bobbled twice during the course, thus I didn't stand a chance. But Top 3 prizes all won by my own pals, Groovy, Cami and Russell, which was sweet. I got pretty embrassed with myself as I own the longest legs among them. Next there was 60 weave poles challenge. She was so worried that I might pop out, until she tried to guide me into every single poles. I completed it clean, but was so slow. Trust Pacco to know when to use the right speed. When she wants 'slow', I go maniac, when she wants 'fast', I'm taking my own sweet time. That's my way to keep her feeling entertain.
I only earned 2 bags, while she eagerly went to answer a Trivia question and got me another bag. Obviously she's shameless and will do whatever it takes for the dog food. By the end of the day, that's what matter most for us, another 3 months of food supply.

PetsWorld 2008 Recap
This is Ms Owner and I awaiting Money's arrival. We found out about the timer function in our camera. So, here is our neat group picture after almost dozen of attempts. Yeah, is easy for her to look into the camera, but I don't really get the idea of hallucinating an invisible cameraman.
Once we reach and set up my crate, with cloths covering all four direction to prevent me from barking, I'm suffocating.
The obedience trial was taking place and this was the first time we witness how the Intermediate and Open class competition. Looks interesting but tedious and it take a long time. They doesn't had a standard course time of 2metre per second.
The most difficult task in the whole game of obedience is to 'stay' and doing it out of sight of your handler, which is absolutely 'IMPOSSIBLE'!!!!
Enough of watching obedience work for me, is time to greet my friends.
Apart from the serious obedience trial, there was also some casual games to cater all pet dog lovers, which include Fancy Dressing, Biggest and Smallest dog, Best Trick, Longest Tail and Most Adorable Puppy.
There was a large crowd, and all the other dogs before me have some nice run. People were clapping and cheering, yet it didn't mentally affect me. Maybe I'm already partially deaf after so much of exposure to loud noises.
I'm the dog who did the most of run of the day again. This has always been our approach to agility trial. Invest as much as you can in different classes, and by the end of the day, you will have a higher probability of getting something in return. Fortunately, I'm a mutt with good stamina, or else, someone might need to call up 911 for me. Due to my hectic schedule, I might reconsider letting Ms Owner to adopt another mutt, just to keep her occupied and give me some decent rest that I deserve. BUT, make sure she is no even close to be prettier than me do.
Groovy end the show will style with his groovy dance moves. I love his 'hop on feet' moves and attempts to try it on Ms Owner skinny legs, hoping it will break and we can all rest in peace.

Haul from K9 Day
So here you goes the '3bag' that I got from :
1st place - Dog Triathon
2nd place - Simon Say
2nd place - Hurdle Race
This time I decided to miss out for the 'Ultimate Ball Retriever' because I doesn't want to upset Ms Owner by bringing 4 bags home (Ms. Owner growling behind, grrrrr..........).
I'm pretty tired and exhausted with all the hardwork and decided to take a short nap. Zzzz.....
While back at home. I got myself a reward for being a GOOD girl. The 'dumb-bone'. I'm doing an impersonification of Amber-Mae here, as she always like to hold 'everything' by her muzzle. Recently, I'm getting the idea too. Sniggering....
Stay tuned for more photos to share.
