I heart being your sunshine

I am sharing a layout today I did about my husband and I.  I don't do a lot of LOs with just the two of us.  Mainly because so much of our life involves our sweet baby.  But, I had these pictures from a couple of months ago that I wanted to scrap.

My husband calls me sunshine.  He started calling me that in college.  I never thought to much of it, I just always loved that he called me that.  It made me smile.  One day one of his friends asked why he called me sunshine, and very matter of fact like he said because she brightens my day like the sun.  He said it just like it was the most obvious thing in the world.  Almost like he didn't understand why someone couldn't understand that.  So to this day it still makes me smile and I thought it would be a great LO.

The little heart is a tag that pulls out with my journaling.  Very similar to what I wrote above.

Hope you enjoy!

Card Box

Today I am sharing with you the box that I created to hold all the cards I made for my mother-in-law's mothers day gift.  I am really proud with how it turned out.  The paper is from a paper stack by DCWV.  I used a cake box that I had saved from baking a cake for my hubby's birthday last month.

Hope you enjoy!

Lucky Number 7

I am thinking of starting a new series once a month about some of my favorite things.  I am going to try to do seven things a month.  We will see how it goes.  The seven things will probably always be a combination of random things.

This month I'm starting with these fabulous things.

1. The color Navy.  I heart the color Navy.  It is such a great neutral shade that people tend to skip over.  I like to use it just like you would black, white, kraft or brown.

2. Little notebooks.  I love the spiral bound more than any others.  I'm not really sure why, I guess they just feel a little easier to write in.  But, I use notebooks all the time.  I am a little addicted to purchasing them also.  I always have one with me.  I have a pretty good memory, but when I come up with an idea, see a great color combo or want to jot down some memories or stories of the day, I use these notebooks for that.  It is great for adding journaling to my pages also.

3. Bannafish studio.  Ali Edwards had bought some things from her last Christmas and posted it on her blog.  I started to watch her etsy shop every now and then to see what she had up for sell.  I have bought a few things from her now.  They are always amazing.  You should check her out.  This is what I bought last time:
graphic journal cards

4. Coffee Filters- I love to use them in mini books.  I like that you can hide little things inside.  I also love the shape.  Something a little different than just an envelope.  I believe they come in four sizes and two colors.  These are the last ones I bought:
Cone Filter - White Fit 4-6 Cup Machine #2-100Ct

5. This room. It is from the HGTV Green home giveaway.  You can see more about the home here.
I love the patterns the color combo.  Everything about it is so inspiring to me.

6. Little baskets or whatever I can find to old extra stuff.  I pick them up everywhere.  These are two that are currently on my table.  The first is actually a candle holder from Pier 1 that I got has a gift.  I just love the shape of it and size.  I use it for little punched items that I didn't use or little things that I did use that need to be put away.  The other basket is for things I am in the middle of using right now.  It was actually a wedding present that tends to float around to different places in my house.  The lady that bought it for us brought it make from a trip to Africa that she made.  I love it just because it has a great story behind.

7. Number 7 this month is my Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch.  I don't know why I have waited so long to buy one, but I did.  It has become my new favorite thing and butterflies are showing up on everything.

Thank you card

Are you tired of cards yet?  Sorry, if you are.  I found this little birdy in my stash and just had to use it.  I thought the card turned out pretty cute.  Again, I'm in love with my scrap bin.  They seem to be the best place to create cards from!  I think I'm getting ready to branch out into different sizes and shapes.  I just started thinking of cards as mini pages and it helped with being scared of them.

Hope you enjoy!

Wish Card

Bringing you another card today.  This is a birthday card.  It was super quick and simple.  The best part is it uses up more scraps from my bin!  I just love that.

Hope you enjoy!

Just a Note Card

I am happy to say that I was in a crafty mood this past weekend.  So I have a lot coming soon.  I did a little here and there between studying for finals which start today!  It provided a nice break.  Plus, I was working on a set of cards for my mother-in-law for mother's day.  She is one of the few people I know that still corresponds with people by writing letters and cards.  I thought I would create some pretties for her to do her writing in.  So today you are going to see the first of them.

On this one I used the Bo Bunny Sophia line and a CTMH stamp for the 'just a note'.  The paper was from my scrap bin, which I love being able to utilize!

Hope you enjoy!
