A little Throwback this Thursday

Nightcrawler is not Jake's first look at the dark side.

Many may not consider Donnie Darko in the same category as Nightcrawler, but Jake shines in portraying the dark and trouble teenager, and the outstanding reviews of his return to this type of character in Nightcrawler take us back to his first turn.

Not only a cult classic, Darko is one of the iconic roles that is synonymous with Jake.

 Jake clearly captured what it appears to those around him as a schizophrenic experience with auditory and visual day night hallucinations.

.

 All the while garnering compassion and empathy as the movies anti-hero.

 So convincing and organic, Jake disappears in the role, and the audience doesn't see the actor only the character.  The same is being said of his performance in Nightcrawler.

Not only is it TBT it was Oct 2 that Donnie received his message through a dream.

OMG was ahead of the game on Wednesday with a TBT of Austin and "Little Blue"  (Austy's blue stone pinky ring)

Punch Back

Page Six is reporting that 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) will play a promoter who’s part of the entourage of the cocky, aggressive, volatile boxing champion Billy Hope.

 Jake and 50 at the premiere of End of Watch.

Billy fully expects to ride out his career with his massive winnings, adoring fans, beloved wife, Maureen, and their 10-year-old daughter but when his temper triggers a fight and shootout that leaves his wife dead, Billy’s life spirals out of control. After he loses his house, money and daughter, he begins to find his way back to some kind of balance with the help of an amateur trainer (Forrest Whitaker).

Southpaw is still filming in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and will soon shift to Pittsburgh for the remainder of their summer filming.

Which reminded OMG of another great throwback picture where Jake rocked the white tee.

 But it seemed like Jake was in the mood for no pictures as he was leaving London 

 Could he have finished up the London part of his role for Everest and is going back stateside?

And why so shy?   Is it he thinking this is inconspicuous. Honey Please....

Or could it be the beard is gone and he is once again a fresh face dimples to die for dude?

Back and Forth

For throw back Thursday, it's back Nailed.

The movie which has lingered in movie equivalent of the sitting the paper gown and waiting for the Dr. to come in to start the appointment for 5 years (ie, you gotten through the gallant of the waiting room, filled out the forms, saw the nurse for the intake, and 45 minutes and counting and you are still waiting for exam room door to open again) looks like it might be a step closer to being released.

IndieWire is reporting that Nailed received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA recently.  Which makes it sound like they will release it

But with that come the questions:

Have the ever shot the pivotal scene were Beil's character gets nailed with the nail gun?

How did a movie about a nymphomaniac (due to her injury)  who meets up with a guy with prolapse anus (Tracey Morgan) get a PG-13 rating?

Is the movie about lack of  accessible healthcare relevant now?

Or are they trying to capitalize on the  current web woes of the US healthcare enrollment kickoff?

Or are they jumping on it because Jake is the closest he's been to getting back on the Oscar track  in a while?

Someone found the movie again and though what the heck?  Maybe we could Netflix it and get some of the money back?

Why is Jake in a loincloth ? Congressional Fight club?

 One question there is an answer for today: 

When is Jake's latest movie Prisoners out on DVD?

December 17th

Just in time for Jake's birthday.
