Nailed Down

If finally happened the "lost" film of Jake's has finally seen the like, although the trouble movie Nailed looked like it went through a little witness protection program.

New name, new background story.

What once was a black comedy, satire about the state of healthcare and politics, now is repackaged an offbeat RomCom as Accidental Love.

Millenium Entertainment will release David O. Russell's shelved 2008 film Nailed on February 10th  with the title Accidental Love.

'Stephen Greene' is now credited as director of the troubled, PG-13 political romantic comedy about a rollerskating waitress called Alice Eckle.

Guess with the PG-13 rating the major storyline of Alice becoming a nymphomaniac from the nail gun means she now just a silly girl in love. What they do with Tracey Morgan's character prolapse anus will probably now be hemorrhoids.
Producer Lucy Fisher told Collider in 2013 that making the movie was 'debilitating and so devastating' due to the film being shut down a total of 14 times. Russell walked about from the movie after Millenium Picture purchased what there was and began the odyssey.

Many knew it had been shut down a few times during production in South Carolina for money troubles but doubt anyone knew it was 14 times.

Political Positions

New York on Monday, LA on Tuesday Jake was spotted at LAX on November 4th.

Looks like his "home" might be in New York, but not his polling place is not.

Austin was sure enthusiastic about voting the day before

Americans! Tomorrow is Election Day. VOTE VOTE VOTE!! Here is a link to find out where you go.   - AUS10

Civic Duty?  Or thought of possible hanging chad?

Speaking of politics.

What ever happened to Nailed?

It looks like the movie went into witness protection.   It got a new name and new location and all connection to David O. Russell is wiped away or is that Russell wiped away any relation to it.

"Screen Daily reports that Arrow Films has snapped up the UK rights to the film that’s now called “Politics Of Love” with plans for a 2015 release."

No word if or when it can return to the US.

Nailed Down? and Dapped up!

A few more pictures (including official ones from the set) from Jake's never released movie Nailed came forth today.

Plagued with financial problems, Nailed's fate has been in limbo for a while, and after the passage of the Affordable Care Act,  it seemed like the movie might have lost it's relevancy.  But maybe with the recent ruling, it might find a place in the conversation.

One thing for sure the producers who bought out the rights and took the film over are looking for every opportunity they can use to publicized the movie and try to get it off the shelves and on the screen.

With Jake looking like he's on the hunt for award shows next spring and Tracy Morgan recently in the news, it looks like they are  throwing crumbs out to create some interest as they float that this might  (finally?) be  the year the release gets Nailed down.

The cast of Nailed

But for now just check out Jake and his nifty Dapper Dan hairdo from the movie

In the past OMG has talked about Austin and Dapper Dan too, but there is a difference.

Back and Forth

For throw back Thursday, it's back Nailed.

The movie which has lingered in movie equivalent of the sitting the paper gown and waiting for the Dr. to come in to start the appointment for 5 years (ie, you gotten through the gallant of the waiting room, filled out the forms, saw the nurse for the intake, and 45 minutes and counting and you are still waiting for exam room door to open again) looks like it might be a step closer to being released.

IndieWire is reporting that Nailed received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA recently.  Which makes it sound like they will release it

But with that come the questions:

Have the ever shot the pivotal scene were Beil's character gets nailed with the nail gun?

How did a movie about a nymphomaniac (due to her injury)  who meets up with a guy with prolapse anus (Tracey Morgan) get a PG-13 rating?

Is the movie about lack of  accessible healthcare relevant now?

Or are they trying to capitalize on the  current web woes of the US healthcare enrollment kickoff?

Or are they jumping on it because Jake is the closest he's been to getting back on the Oscar track  in a while?

Someone found the movie again and though what the heck?  Maybe we could Netflix it and get some of the money back?

Why is Jake in a loincloth ? Congressional Fight club?

One question there is an answer for today:

When is Jake's latest movie Prisoners out on DVD?

December 17th

Just in time for Jake's birthday.

Twins and Triplets

Looks like Jake is going back in time to have another triple play

No no time travel in his movies, but it will be back in time like 2005 when Jake had Proof, Jarhead and BBM out the same year.

This time it will be with twins, and two films with the same director, Denis Villeneuve and another with a director coming off his best year ever.

Even thought David O. Russell walked away from the production horrors that plagued the movie Nailed,  the studio that own the movie will use his Academy Award winning success to recoup some of the money it lost.  The word was Jessica B had one more scene to shoot before production was force to shut down.  A pivotal scene that set up her quest for healthcare reform,  still under the contract for that scene, the now the word is that she recently went back and filmed it.  The movie is slated to come out later this year.

But kicking off Jake's triple play is actually the movie that Jake's character meets his double.  An Enemy, his first film with Villeneuve is now retitled "Enemy Within"  and it's new release date is August 28.

What else is happening on August 28th?   That would be 70th Venice International Film Festival.  Will Enemy Within, open up Venice?  And will it be a contender for the  Leone d'Oro (Golden Lion)?

Less than a month later (September 20th) Jake's second movie with Villeneuve,  along with  an all-star cast, Prisoners opens and tonight the first sneak peek popped up on Entertainment Tonight.

Prisoners has already had mentioned as an Oscar contender.  Will we see Jake relive his first triple with a second Oscar nomination? Time will tell.

Bonus Round:  Which of the films will win the Jake Hair-do Hall of Fame?

Previews, Promos, Premieres, and Pretty much Nailed Screwed

Jake will be pulling double duty over the next couple of weeks. While the play's in previews he going to get some promotion for EoW in, first up Letterman on Monday (Aug 28th).

Will we see him sneak in Jimmy (Fallon) or Jon (Stewart)?  Or stop by and say welcome to Michael Strahan on Live! one morning?

One thing we do know is he is going to be a the Toronto International Film Festival with the rest of the cast. It was confirmed last week that Jake is heading back to Toronto. It maybe more of an up and back quick trip, but we'll get to see him back on the red carpet.

One thing it looks like we won't see (ever) is Nailed.  A couple recent articles about Nailed have given more of the behind the scene drama and what the current state of movie really is and now with the current state of healthcare in the US and how it effects the movie.

In an interview with producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher they talked about wanting to make a indie that turned into a nightmare not because of the cast and crew, but because there was no money for the cast and crew.  We thought we knew the whole story.. but not even close.

They revealed " that they shut down 14 times in total throughout production and post-production, and in the middle of this whirlwind Russell had to keep focused on the artistic integrity of the film.  This process continued through the duration of the shoot, and as Russell was gearing up to film the pic’s crucial scene, the financier pulled the plug for good."
How do you even stop the production 14 times?  And then one scene where Jess Beiler gets the nail gun is the one never filmed.  And without that there is no movie, no matter how you cut the rest of it.  No matter how many times the new owners of the film have tried to test it.

Scream and Nailed

Source Code's success rolls on and this time has gotten Jake a nomination for Best Science Fiction Actor for the 2011 SPIKE TV Scream Awards. And Jake's got some serious company including actor Daniel Craig for Cowboys and Aliens, Chris Evans for Captain America, Matt Smith for Dr. Who and a guy who played the character who Jake always wanted to be, Harrison Ford.
"I always wanted to be Indiana Jones"
Can he beat them? It won't be known until October 18th.

Want to vote? Vote here.

Another Source Code connection, the score from source is now the theme music for JJ Abrahms' new tv show Person of Interest. The show is a "crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice."

A former military man with special training in covert operations appeals to a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens.

And while we're talking the law.

Jake's movie in perpetual limbo, Nailed, was just mentioned in bankruptcy court.
In the mixed up world of who has interest in what and what companies are involved and who can still get some money out of the mess that is the collapse of Capital Films, Nailed was mention.

Currently Raspberry Financial has control of Nailed's future and has insisted that "although the director of Nailed, David O. Russell, has left the project,....they are spending at least $750,000 more, beyond $7 million already invested, to complete the movie."
It has been 3 and half years since Nailed was wrap or better said got shut down for the last time. One scene left to shoot. Will it ever come out?

Don't think Jake's sweating about it.
