Update and A Finish

Here is my update on my Fright Night Friends for Week 7.  My goal this week is the second L and the sign post. I didn't stitch on it today which is Monday.  I was finishing up on Paws. I was  so close to finishing it, I didn't want to wait until Thursday to finish it.

 Paws and Stripes
by Stitchy Kitty Designs
28 count even weave dyed purple by me
Recommended DMC threads and added white beads

This took me longer than I expected. One of the reasons is I have been getting headaches recently and been a little tired in the afternoons.  This summer is better than last year when I didn't want to stitch at all due to depression. I do need to get a button for the middle paw, but I won't show this again until I finish it into a wall hanging. I got the fabric and trimming already.

Nora Corbett came out with a new pixie, Fairie Summer Love (FSL) and I fell in love with it. I love the greens in her dress and blue wings.  I am going to to stitch her on a Silkweaver solo I had in my stash. She will have a few stitches by next week's update.
Joann's had a 27 cents sale on Saturday. I took advantage of it, and got 95 skeins. Plus I wrapped majority of them on bobbins that night, and it took me about 6 hours. I am planning to use the skeins for FSL, Mirabila Lady of Freedom, and Sue Hillis Maps of Connecticut and Massachusetts. The maps are for my aunt. She had the patterns and gave them to me. I will be starting Massachusetts on Thursday.  I will be starting 2 new projects this week.

My dad is still in the rehab but he is doing good. We are hoping he will be home this week. It's been two weeks since his surgery. My cousin came over and fixed the dishwasher. I am very happy it works now.

Have a great week!

Hugs,
Vicky

Some exchanges

I did about 5 exchanges recently, a mailart, (my first), a First day of Summer exchange, Summer Ornament, magnet, and 4th of July exchanges. I cant show the mail art because I am waiting for the recepient to receive her mailart. Since I did such a lousy job taking pictures of the mail art I got, I will re take them as soon as I buy new batteries.
This is the ornament I made for Debbie Jo for the I-Love-Crossstitch Yahoo group. It is from Stoney Creek and stitched on Charles Craft 14ct Grasshopper aida.
I restitched the sun and watermelon on Sassy's Fabbys Blue Lagoon aida material and made them into magnets. The magnets were for Mary from Krafterskorner yahoo group. She send me 2 magnets too with a package of M&M's. Good thing they where shelled because I put them behind my laptop. When I opened them to eat them, the chocolate was a liquid delight, lol.
Debbie Jo send me this cute ornament, in return, with three beautiful threads from Carrie's Creation threads. They are beautiful.
In my ILCSing yahoo group, there was a First Day of Summer exchange to celebrate the first of summer on June 21. I send to Vickie H in AR. I got this little tote bag and put foam stickers on the bag. Inside I put in a romance book, a Sue Hillis pattern, another pattern I can't remember material and some threads. Unfortunely, her puppy got hold of one of the threads, and destroy it.

My partner, in return, was Debra S. She send me a plate with a watermelon and cherry on it, a garland of leis, 2 charts: Pickle Barrel Design Freedom and Cherrywood Designs That Kind of Stitcher and a cute frame keychain. We both are in KraftersKorners group too and we end up being partners for the 4th of July Patriotic exchange. Debra send me Ursula Micheal Design Stars and Stripes. I can not wait to start it and I will be sending it back to Debra so she can stitch too. I send her a few DMC threads in red, white, and blue, a fat quarter of patriotic material, ribbon ( cupcakes on white with blue and red confetti on the frosting) , flag stickers, and I stitched Lizzie Kate Let Freedom Ring into a wall/door hanger. The picture is on top of this post.

I am working on a summer piece from a freebie kit exchange and a quilt block for a friend. They have to get done soon and than I can go back to my ABC Lessons and Fairy Queen. I havent worked on them like forever and they are calling for me. Maybe I will get to one of them this weekend, since Nascar is back on this Sunday.

Many hugs,
Vicky

Patriotic Snowangel

I finished stitching this snow angel last night, when the news was on. The Patriotic SnowAngel was stitched on 28 count Little Blue Boy lugana, using the recommended threads except for the carrot nose. I couldnt find the floss for the nose, so I had went to Joann's to get the floss, and I end up misplacing the skein somewhere in the house. I couldn't believe it. If I had a child or a pet, or even a husband, I could blame it on one of them, but I lost it somewhere. So I used WDW Pumpkin thread for the nose. The pattern came from American School of Needlework Angelic Snowmen leaflet. I will be finishing it as a pinkeep.

Any one watched The Marriage Ref after the olympics? First, I was disappointed how NBC cutted the closings into 2 parts. I was stitching and was half paying attention to what Bob Costas was saying so I didnt even know they were coming back on at 1130 until this morning, lol. Of course I was too late to watch it then. It sure was not smart of them to cut the program into 2 parts. To me, I thought that was it, The End of the 2010 Olympics, and regular programming will go on. I wonder how many people saw the closing credits after the news. By then, I was watching another channel as I was kitting another pattern. Anyways, ( talking about getting off track, lol) I did watched The Marriage Ref and I laughed my butt off. There was even one time I was laughing so much, I laughed right through the commericals and crying at the same time.

I kitted Little House Needleworks Pear Tree last night. I was able to find all the threads I needed for the pattern. It is going to be stitched on 28 ct mushroom evenweave material. I wanted to stitched in February but I ran out of time. So I will try to stitch 2 ornaments, since I have He's a Flake in my pile and Snowy Pines will be shipped out this week to me.

My birthday is next month, so I have decided I will be celebrating it with all of you. I will be holding my first giveaway in a few weeks. I am still deciding what I am giving away. Any suggestions will be helpful. I found out my friend and I will be seeing Mary Poppins on June 23. He got front row seats on top of that. It is going to be so awesome! I can not wait. I think I am more excited about the musical than for my birthday.
