Can you tell where I am? |
Thursday night there was a LOT of todo-ing at my house. People were doing laundry and pulling out suitcases. They were loading up the car and going to the store. It was crazy. And no one would give me a straight answer! It was all - "Noodles go lay down" or "Noodles you will have fun" and "Noodles stay out of the way". And I was only trying to help. I got really worried when Mommy took my bed to the car.
The next morning was usual - only Mommy was UBER busy. Then she did something strange - she took me with her to get Mommy #1 from her work. Not only that, but she had my crate in the car and blankies on the windows and a BRAND NEW FAN clamped to the top of my crate. It was really really cozy and cool too. It was a HOT day on Friday. And even hotter on Saturday - but we weren't there.
Mommy's car does not have AC and she was a little worried about me and the hot weather. Rightfully so. Pugs do not handle heat too well. And for the most part her preparations worked until Sacramento. Now Sac is a little different than San Jose. . . it was so HOT!!! It was over 100 Degrees F! So up until then I was snoozing away on my cooling pad and with a cool fan breeze wafting over me. But it was HOT! HOT! HOT!!!! I admit I was H-O-T! We stopped in Placerville for food and potty. I was breathing a bit harder than usual and although not in any distress, I was not happy. Mommy took a bottle of water and poured it on my tummy and furs. There was a hot breeze in Placerville but with the water it cooled me down. But I still breathed hard all the way to our destination even though it was a lot cooler once we started to climb the mountains.
But I was fine - don't get me wrong. Mommy took all precautions to keep me from distress.
I was in a crate - but this is a cute pic of me right? |
This is where we stayed. My Auntie DD owns it and she let us use it for the weekend. This is a special place because it is big and neat and cushie. All 9 of us (7 humans and 2 pups) fit perfectly.
We were there from Friday until Sunday morning. I got A LOT of walks - partly because there is no fenced yard to potty in and mostly because there are coyotes and bears up there. Even with a fenced yard I'd be supervised because I AM A SNACK to your average coyote. I have been sized up by one before. It is NOT fun.
Here is a pic of me and Molly walking
It smelled so wonderful in the mountains and despite there still being snow on the mountains (Look in the background of Molly's picture. That IS snow) it was warm during the day and pleasant at night. Not that we went out much at night. We had a sunset potty walk and then we were in for the night - Coyotes, like I said. They hunt after sunset.
I'll post more pictures from Tahoe tomorrow. For today, I will leave you with this and it is BETTER than an AFFIRMATION
