And its {back} to school

Although I have already been back to school for two weeks, it was so nice to have a little 3-day weekend to recover. I love having a spiral notebook for making lists and writing down information in a safe place. I go through one notebook every few months. I decided to make a note book for my friend Sherah who just signed up to be a Close to My Heart consultant so that she could keep track of new customers and make her own lists. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was inspired by Jen @ Jen's Scrappy Pages.

I made this notebook using the CTMH Stamp sets: Classmate Alphabet, You're A Hoot and some Hambly screeenprint paper. The cover of the notebook was attached with eyelets, it is a transparent overlay...I thought it would help protect the stamped images. In the second photo, you can see the elastic cord I used to secure the notebook closed....that is one of my favorite new techniques. I love to attach the elastic with eyelets on the back cover and then stretch it around the cover to keep papers and loose notes from getting lost. I picked up this notebook at the drugstore and the cover is a little thicker than cardstock so it was perfect for recovering! Enjoy!!

December Daily 2009

Wow, this is such a fun project to create. I love looking back at last year's book. I love showing it to people. I keep it in one of those nice, plastic, zippered bags that curtains and sheets come in so that it doesn't get torn up. Eventually, I will put all my mini albums in a CTMH Memory Keeper Box.

At CKC this year, my goal was to work on my December Daily Album. (It is August, I know, but I have been creating Christmas Cards for weeks now...what do you expect!)

All year, I have been grabbing up Christmas stuff (stickers, rubons, embellishments) a little at a time so that I would have some fun goodies for my book. I got some wonderful flocked and glittered paper from Tuesday Morning that was perfect for the main pages of my book. I used tons of Hambly overlays. I think it is going to look so great with all the pictures and December goodies inside!!

Again, this isn't every page, but it is a good preview of the highlights! As you can see, I used plenty of non-Christmas paper. I love it when everything comes together so beautifully. Thanks for reading!

Color Inspiration Challenge # 56

I haven't participated in one of these challenges in a while, but this one HAD to be done. I have the perfect patterned paper for the challenge colors this week over at KwernerDesign Bolg!

My card features B&T paper from CTMH, Animal Cookies Level 2 paper packet. It also has some really great Badge Buttons from the Tinkerin' collection. On top of the hand-stamped lettering 'A BIG Birthday' I placed a Hambly transparent overlay. It gave me a lay-out for the card. I really like how it turned out!

Enjoy!!

TWO 2-page layouts using sketches!

My favorite magazine is Creating Keepsakes. I started reading the magazine over five years ago. I love all the editors and the layouts are fantastic. I love following the magazine online too!

For this week's 'Weekly Warm-Up' the blog is featuring a Becky Higgins sketch. It happens to be one of my favorites from the summer magazine. I am not usually a huge fan of sketches, but this one was super fun! Here is the sketch:

I came up with TWO versions of this sketch. One is using pictures from my niece's 1st birthday and the other is from a recent camping trip.

Party Layout:
CTMH Desert Sand Cardstock
CTMH Heartfelt Die Cuts
My Mind's Eye Patterned paper (the plaid is my absolute favorite paper this summer!)
K&Co. Rubons, Gittered Die Cuts, Flocked stickers, Adhesive Chipboard
Jolee's Boutique Cupcake
Other: gel pen--white

Summer Adventure Layout:
Hambly Woodgrain Overlay
7gypsies Mountain vacation Stickers
Cosmo Cricket Mr. Happy Camper Paper
Creative Memories Transparent stickers
CTMH HeartFelt Die Cuts
CTMH Chipboard and Stickease
CTMH Cardstock Desert Sand
other--brads

If ya'll have an tips on photographing 2-page layouts, I would love to hear them! Cards are way easier!! Anyway, I hope the quality is decent and feel free to click on the image to see it larger and with more details!

Just a fun card

Hambly overlay, circles, butterflies, journaling stamps....turquoise, magenta and lime green with black and white....

This card was going to serve 3 purposes....answer a design team call, use color inspiration challenge colors, and serve as a graduation card....It ended up landing in my 'card' box fulfilling none of these challenges or needs...but thats okay. I had fun making it, so I am sharing it with you.

Enjoy!!
