Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

Congrats - You Did It!!!

I'm still on my quest to build my card collection.  Slowly, but surely, I'm getting there.  I thought I'd add a congrats card to the group.

I used the Silhouette Cameo for both the card and matching envelope.  I just got the machine and I'm pretty hooked on it right now.  The sentiment on both the tag and card were done with the Silhouette print and cut feature.  I was able to use the "Typenoksidi" font that I'd downloaded from dafont.com and loaded onto my computer (I really like that feature!)  The balloon is one of the many images available for purchase in the Silhouette library.

The paper is from my scrap supply. It was kinda fun to mix all those patterns.

All Occasion - Simplicity

I'm trying to build up my stash.  I'd like to have cards readily available for any occasion.  Life is so busy, BUT  these cards were so quick and simple.  I think I may be on to something.  Simplicity will have to be my new mantra.

The flower on card one was printed from the Silhouette Design Studio Library.  The die cuts on card two are from Papertrey ink.  Sentiments / Stamps are from My Creative Time w/ Emma.

Goody Gumballs....The Cutting Cafe

It's time for another week of Inspiration at The Cutting Cafe. This week we were asked to do a project related to one of the gumball sets. It's probably no surprise that I chose the GUMBALL SHAPED CARD. I think this is such a fun cutting file. As an added bonus, the matching envelope template/file comes with the shaped card file!!!! That's certainly a plus for me because I love to to make envelopes to match my cards. I manipulated the file just a little to make the envelope have a window. I wanted the colors of the gumball machine to show. That's the good part about The Cutting Cafe files. Because Regina has done the hard work, you can add minor changes (like a window) easily. Or you can leave it as is... You're in control!

Be sure to stop by the Cutting Cafe Blog and check out all of the other gumball creations! I'm sure you'll be inspired.

Enjoy....

For My Reserve... Cutting Cafe

I'm such a last minute card maker, but my goal has always been to have several kinds of cards on hand so when an occasion arises, I can just pull one from my reserve. This card will be part of my reserve. I chose not to put a sentiment on it until I decide how it will be used. It may be a kiddie birthday card, it may be a baby shower card... Who knows? At least the card is ready occasion come what may.

This cut comes from none other than the The Cutting Cafe and is called Dress Shaped Card 2 Cutting File. It comes with lots of accesories so you can mix and match as much as you like. Or you can do like I did and add some things from your scrapbooking stash. While I was at it, I decided to add a matching envelope... Why not??? The envelope is part of the Dress Shaped Card 2 set. How fabulous is that?

Sweet Treats... The Cutting Cafe

Isn't this the biggest most delicious cupcake? I loved it the moment I saw it at The Cutting Cafe. The set is called Huge Cupcake and comes in PDF, WPC and SVG formats. I thought the Cupcake Box from The Cutting Cafe made a nice accessory. And finally, I love creating matching envelopes for my projects so I used the Martha Stewart Scoring Board to make this 6X6 envie... BTW, the sentiment from the Everyday 1-inch Greetings Set at The Cutting Cafe.

Going Places...The Cutting Cafe

When I saw the "Cruising By To Say Hi" printable stamp at The Cutting Cafe, I couldn't wait to use it. I decided to make a card for my cousin who is in her second year of college and doing exceptionally well I might add.

The "Cruising By.." set is HUGE. It comes with 98 images (including sentiments). I chose to use the convertible bug and "you're going places" sentiment. Because my cousin is such a girly girl, I decided to add some flair to the car by dumping on loads of pink glitter. Hope she likes...

It's YOUR Day... The Cutting Cafe

I wanted to make a fun birthday card so I started browsing through my Cutting Cafe files... I thought this Ribbon Banner Shaped card would make a fun card base. The Ribbon Card comes with sentiments as well... The "It's Your Day" sentiment used on this card is just one of many that are part of the set.

I added a fun shaped cake and a funky flower and it is done. I hope the recipient enjoys this card.

BTW... Please forgive the photo... I tried removing the shadows with some photo editing software, but apparently I've no clue what I'm doing...

Hot Air Balloon Card... The Cutting Cafe

When Regina (owner of the Cutting Cafe) sent the design team the cutting file for this shaped card, I knew that it was only a matter of time before I used it. That's because it's hard for me to resist creating a shaped card! I just love them.

You can find the Hot Air Balloon cutting file and template HERE. As a matter of fact, if balloons, kites, clouds, and the sentiments that go along with them interest you, then check out the Up Up in the Sky Printable Stamp Set...

It's a SPRING thing... The Cutting Cafe

Shaped cards are my favorite. And I couldn't resist this Butterfly Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe. I used my die cutting machine to cut the file and I added a little spring scene just for the fun of it. It was a way to use some of those little scraps that seem to be compounding!

BTW, This shaped card comes in PDF, SVG, and WPC formats.

Hey Chick...The Cutting Cafe

Aren't these images the cutest? This card was created using the Easter Set 3 Printable Stamp set from none other than The Cutting Cutting Cafe.

The set comes with 20 images (includes frames, images, and sentiments) and is so versatile. I printed the image on the card and to add just a little dimension, I printed the egg portion, hand cut it, and popped it with dimensionals. Super easy and super fun... And I love doing matching envelopes (especially if I'm going to hand deliver the card). I sized down the image on the envelope and punched it with a circle punch.

Enjoy The Journey...The Cutting Cafe

A friend of mine wanted to give a card to a coworker who is training to ride in the MS 150 this year. I immediately thought of the printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe called "Let's Go For A Ride".

I used my desktop publishing software to color the bike with a nice girlie pink shade. I also added the "Enjoy the journey" sentiment which is also part of the Let's Go For a Ride Set. I just love this set. It has lots and lots of adorable images and sentiments. Go check 'em out!!!

Make It TALL...CCC#65

Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!

This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!

Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

Take Your Time... The Cutting Cafe

I just love the Animal and Bug Love Colored printable stamp over at The Cutting CafĂ©. It’s packed with lots of images. Using the colored set was a piece of cake. I just resized the image, added a frame from the B & W Animal and Bug Love Set, printed it and I was done.

To add a little dimension, I cut the turtle shell in MTC and adhered it with pop dots. I used a couple of Cricut cuts for the clouds and grass. Since this card will be hand delivered, I thought I’d make a cute little matching envelope as well.

Enjoy!!!

Well CCC Design Team #2 is back with a pretty neat challenge this week. It's a color challenge. You can use any cartridges and any theme, but you have to use the colors red, black and white. That's one of my favorite color combinations so I really enjoyed this challenge. I chose to make a "Just Because" card. This one can be used for various occasions.

Now let's see what you have...!!! Stop on by the CCC site and join in with us.

This entire project was done with the Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge.

Quickie Birthday Card...

Here I go again with my last minute cards. Perhaps that's why it's a nice Spring card during Winter... Well, I'm in Texas and Winter sometimes brings nice Spring temperatures... Nonetheless, I've completed this card to give to one of my church members. I hope she likes it.

I used October afternoon "Fly A Kite" scraps for all the papers.

Wind Beneath My Wings...

I'm still getting to know my Cricut Imagine. I admit I haven't had a chance to spend a tremendous amount of time playing with it. I never cut out the various words and phrases that are on most Cricut cartridges so I thought it would be great to use the Imagine print function & use one of the phrases as the sentiment on my card front. I really like that feature.

Anyway, on this card, the Sentiment & branch were printed via the Imagine. The butterflies and leaves were both print and cut using the Imagine. The machine does so much more than this and in time, I'll be doing a whole lot more...

Oh Happy Day…

Here’s a birthday card made using the Cricut Just Because Cards (JBC) and Forever Young (FY) cartridges. I love the FY cartridge and I can see that the JBC cartridge will quickly become a favorite too. That’s my quicky post for now.

Until next time…

A Little Birdie Told Me…. 2S4Y Kazan #49

Just dropping in to post my take on this week’s 2 Sketches Challenge (Kazan #49). Once again I pulled out my new favorite, PTI Polka Dot Basics II stamps, for the bottom portion of the card. I used Cricut Straight From the Nest for the bird and oval scallop.

Miscellaneous Card Set…. PTI March Blog Hop

I’ve only had PTI stamps for a couple of weeks now, but I couldn’t help participating in their monthly blog hop. This month’s Blog Hop Challenge is to use buttons along with one PTI product. Right now, I only have PTI background stamps and one set of their sentiment stamps. So I used all of the PTI products that I have.

I made a set of all occasion vase shaped cards. I used buttons for the flower centers. I don’t know the brand of buttons (just grabbed some from my stash)…
I used PTI’s background stamps to decorate the vase. The stamps used are: Retro, Polka Dots Basics II and Dot Spot. I used PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamps for the sentiments.

Fun times…
