Review | NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in LG164 Nude Pink

Read Article →

Hey guys! I haven't uploaded in a couple of days but I do have a good reason for it - I got a new laptop! Yippee! I bought a Macbook Air 13", and my previous laptop was Acer so I needed some time to get used to the new operating system. Anywhozzles, I bought the NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Nude Pink ages ago but I have never reviewed it before.  So here you guys go!

Pros:
I love the colour and pigmentation, it is lighter than my original bare lip but the lipgloss managed to cover it up well. It is very streaky though, if you pressed your lips too tightly, it smudges a bit.

I highly recommend this shade if you love nudes, this color is a perfect creamy nude pink just as the name suggests. I bought my NYX Mega Shine lipglosses at Smoochiezz for around S$8. Sephora in Singapore is also carrying NYX cosmetics and I believe the Mega Shine lipglosses are S$10 each so they are very affordable.

Cons:
The formula doesn't get absorbed into the skin, it kinda feels like grease, as if I've eaten a fried chicken wing and there is a film of oil on my lips. I have worn Nude Pink out a couple of times and whenever I drink, I have to wipe it off and reapply otherwise it will look extremely patchy.

The Mega Shine lipglosses have a cherry medicinal smell and taste to it which I really dislike.

Verdict:
I personally don't really care for the Mega Shine lipglosses. I haven't tried other shades, but I am not a fan of the formula. They are very affordable so if you want to try a bunch of shades without burning a hole in your pocket, this is a good option. However the quality isn't all that great, you really get what you pay for.

Love,
Hannah

Nyx Blush in Cinnamon & The Body Shop Blush in 01 (Part 1)

Nyx Blush in Cinnamon & The Body Shop Blush in 01

Hey guys! Today will be a 2 part review, this post will be the first part and the second part will be uploaded in the later night. 2 reviews in 1 day! Double combo BOOYAH! Okay jokes aside, the reason why I’m sticking doing these 2 blush reviews side by side is because there are some comparisons going on but they are too long to be posted in 1 post you get what I mean, so yea. I’ll be doing my MAC blush reviews pretty soon so do look out for that.

Nyx Powder Blush in Cinnamon

I’ve been really interested to try this out since a youtuber I love, Oiseau88 always rave about this blush and I have never owned an orange blush before. Cinnamon is a stark orange blush that I initially thought that it will be hard to work with, since it IS an orange blush.

Swatches

Pros:

You may think, ‘What? Orange blush?! Is she out of her mind?’ I initially thought so too. I mean I love my corals but Orange? But the first time I tried it, I was hooked. The orange blush looks really scary in the pan but on the cheek it turns slightly pinkish, maybe due to the natural redness from my cheeks but it looked beautiful!

I really liked how it turned out on my cheeks and I do think that it works well with both fairer and darker skin tones. It instantly warms up the face and it gives off a radiant energy. The adorable sunkissed cheeks are great for the summer and suitable for any season in my opinion. The blush lasts forever on my cheeks.

The texture is really smooth. As you guys can see from the heavily swatched photo of Cinnamon, it does have a sheen to it, but when it is applied on the face, you really cannot see any sheen at all.

The blush is super affordable but it is not available in Singapore therefore you do have to purchase it online. But it cost only around SGD$8 or 9 so it is still very cheap compared to Revlon or Loreal blushes which can cost up to SGD$20 here.

Cons:

Cinnamon is an extremely pigmented blush so you do need to use a really light hand when applying this blush, nobody likes in-the-face orange cheeks do we. What I do is I tap my brush gently on the powder, tap off excess and pat it on my cheeks, then gradually build colour from there. It may look patchy if not applied lightly.

The packaging is a little tricky.  It sometimes takes me around 3 or 4 tries to open it. Definitely can be improved.

Yadda Yadda:

I do think it is a great investment if you want to try out an orange blush but unsure if it suits your skin tone. Better than paying 30 bucks for a MAC blush, the NYX Cinnamon is a much cheaper alternative. Not many brands produce orange blushes that are true to colour, great quality and pigmented so I highly recommend everyone to try it out. Will I repurchase? Definitely.

Haul: The Brush Guard, Neutrogena, Double Sided Eyelid Tape (Part I)

Read Article →
Hey guys! As promised, this will be a mini makeup haul post on stuff that I got recently and presents from my aunt. I decided to split it into 2 parts otherwise it will be a really lengthy post. Sorry I got this up super late, I just kind of had a really long nap, just lazing around eating chips. The weather was super good for sleeping in so yikes. I haven’t be buying cosmetics recently as I have been running low on cash and wanted to save a little $$ for rainy days. Okay first off I’ll start with stuff that I bought.

I bought the Nyx powder blush in Cinnamon. This was a really risky purchase as you guys may know, Cinnamon is a stark orange blush. I really wanted to try it out as I saw Oiseu88 (a Korean beauty guru) who raves about this blush. Orange blushes aren’t really my taste, I much prefer a baby pink blush. But the blush looks so pretty in online swatches so I might as well try it. I tried it on multiple occasions and I really like it!

The second item I got recently is this Secret Magic Double Sided Tape (for creating double eyelids) by the brand Darkness. They are made in Korea and are available at Sasa in the ‘double eyelid tape’ section. The tape cost SGD$4.50 for 44 stickers (22 pairs). I tried them a few times and I do have good thoughts about them.

This is an item I got a while ago. It is the Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel moisturizer. I tried it in the store and it feels really light and smells really nice. I haven’t gotten time to try it yet. It feels really light on my hand so I’m really looking forward to trying it out.

I also the The Brush Guard highly raved by many youtube gurus such as Michellephan. I got the Power/Kabuki pack which contains 4 pieces of brush guard I believe. I haven’t tried it yet, but I definitely will soon and I’ll tell you guys my thoughts.

I got tweezers at Sasa, just to add to my daily essential maintenance items I guess? These come with scissor handles which I much prefer for any tweezing. I find the grip better and overall easier to use.

A/N: My internet has been really horrible these days. I get disconnected like every 10 minutes. So frustrating! I’ll be posting a review on Majolica Majorca liquid eyeliner tomorrow. Do stay with me!

NYX Tinted Lip Spa in TLS01 Copacabana

Review for NYX Tinted Lip Spa in TLS01 Copacabana

Hey babes! Back for another review and today will be on the tinted lip spa from NYX which I have featured in my recent Mini Haul. Copacabana is the lightest shade in the entire range and I’m surprise how little swatches and review Copacabana has so I thought why not I do it, right? Also I’m not really a fan of bold colours so I thought Copacabana will be great for my taste.

Pros:

I wouldn’t say it is pigmented neither is it sheer. It is slightly more pigmented than a ordinary tinted lip balm but not as pigmented as a lipstick. The colour is definitely buildable. It leaves a glossy finish like lip balms do and it is indeed very moisturizing.

On Makeupalley, some reviewers said that the menthol in it stings their lips and they felt like their lips were burning. I do find the menthol/minty smell a little overwhelming for my taste but the menthol feeling on the lips is really not that strong at all. The cooling effect did not last very long after applied on lips neither was it painful.

BUT! If you have wounds on the lips, this stuff is going to sting a little bit. Not like a ‘ouch!’ but more of a ‘oooh’ kind of feeling. I once peeled my lips until it bled and I applied the lip spa on and it did hurt a little so I will not recommend to peeps with really sensitive lips.

Cons:

You guys know how sensitive and dry my lips are, even in such a humid weather, my lips still peel like crazy. And although this tinted lip spa is moisturizing on the lips, I find that after it dries out or gets wiped off, my lips get extra dry so I don’t think the healing properties are absorbed into the lips.

But then again my lips are horribly dry so you guys can roughly judge it for your own lips.

The shade wasn’t as light as I thought it would be. Looking at swatches I thought the colour  would be a nice pale milky pink but it wasn’t. It was definitely a my-lips-but-better-colour. Not a bad colour though, just wasn’t what I was expecting. The lip spa wasn’t any more long lasting compared to other lip balms/ treatments/ conditioner. 1 to 2 hours at most.

Yadda Yadda:

I paid SGD$7 for the NYX Tinted Lip Spa. Net Weight 0.18 OZ or 5g. Will I repurchase? No, I have too many similar shades and the moisturizing properties aren’t enough for my awful lips. Have you guys tried it yet? Do you think it’s good?

A/N: Posts may get more delayed for a while as school is stressing me out like crazy. I try to put up as many as I can, maybe more hauls or sales.

Mini Haul: MAC, Milani, Ecotools, Nyx

Read Article →
Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts these few days, I’ve been working on some projects and its driving me crazy and I’ll maybe add some pictures below showing you guys the data that I have been facing all day. I thought I’ll post up a quick mini haul for you guys and chit chat a little.

I’ve been really interested in the Milani Liquif’eye metallic eyeliner pencil that has been highly raved among bloggers and youtubers. It is not available in Asia, sadly, but I have finally gotten my hands on it and I can’t wait to try it out.

Also sorry for the really dark pictures, I just took them and it is evening here so I do apologize.

I was really interested in purchasing Ecotools products and yes, they are available in Asia Watsons but at a really ridiculous price. I couldn’t bear to spend SGD$30 on a retractable kabuki brush nor SGD$28 on the 6 brush kit. It was way too much to spend on just 1 brush. I bought my ecotools retractable kabuki brush from drugstore.com, if I’m not wrong the brush costs around SGD$15 in total inclusive of shipping which is WAY more affordable than in stores.

Since its October now, autumn is arriving and what’s better than strutting around town with an awesome nail colour? I find OPI Tickle My France-y to be a perfect autumn colour. Pictures here may not do it justice so I may do a separate post on it. I would say it is a mauve-y deep pink leaning to brown with purple undertones. Definitely do check out swatches on the internet for the true colour.

Okay the last 2 products which I have been wanting for AGES are the MAC powder blushes in Dame and Fleur Power. I freaking love Dame, it is the perfect light warm pink that is very suitable for fair girls. It gives just enough colour without looking too ‘made-up’ and really brightens up the complexion. I haven’t tried Fleur Powder yet because I’ve been obsessing with Dame this week, but I’ll try to use it and give it a fair review. I find MAC blushes similar to Pokeballs, you just wanna collect them all!

The last item is the Nyx Tinted Lip Spa in Copacabana. My friend bought it for me and it cost around SGD$7 I believe. I read lots of great reviews and my review will probably be up soon so do stay tune!

Here is my mind blowing data entry work. Get ready!
