Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color 330 Grey Area

Read Article →

I fell in love at first sight when I saw this shade in stores. 330 Grey Area is a dark grey nail polish with purplish undertones. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polishes are very pigmented, I always only apply 2 coats to get a very opaque and creamy appearance. I find the drying time to be a bit lacking though. It dries much slower than brands like China Glaze and OPI. Another con I found is that there is a slight colour difference between how the polish looked inside the bottle and how it came out on my nails. In the bottle, it looked more purplish grey but it came out a lot darker and under certain lighting it looks almost brownish! So I wouldn't personally recommend this shade, but there are many others in the collection so I am definitely going to try those out. Still, it looks amazing on shorter nails but I was pretty bumped with how the color came out. I think they retail for S$13.90 each but I got them on a discount.

Loreal Colour Riche Le Vernis #204

Read Article →

Hey guys! Today's post will be swatches of the Loreal Colour Riche Le Vernis nail polish in shade 204. It is a gorgeous pinkish mauve shade that is amazing B.E.A.utiful on the nails.

If you have not joined my Christmas giveaway, there is still one more day left! There are not a lot of entries because I just changed my url not long ago so chances of winning is super high. There are going to be two giveaway winners so double the chances of getting prizes!

Similar in consistency with the Loreal Le Vernis shade 404, very thick and creamy. I only need 1 coat for a really nice opaque layer. The lasting power on these Le Vernis nail polishes aren't that impressive. They last around a week to a week and a half. I find that they peel faster if I apply 2 layers. I would recommend 204 if you are looking for a toned down, neutral shade that is beautiful yet not in-you-face. Seeing the small container, I don't think you can get much product out of it, maybe around 15 to max 20 applications.

I do own some nude nail polishes that are pretty similar to Le Vernis 204. Some would disagree that 204 as a nude shade, but for me it is pretty close, just more pink toned. From the left to right, Revlon 705 Grey Suede, OPI Tickle My Francy, Loreal Le Vernis 204.

OPI Tickle My Francy is one of my most worn nail polishes, I love how long lasting it is, and the colour is very similar to Le Vernis 204. The consistency is more watery, therefore it needs two or more coats, and has a more beige-y nude tone than Le Vernis 204. I don't really like Revlon Grey Suede, it has silver glitters in them and has a brownish tone to it despite looking rather pinkish in the bottle.

Loreal Colour Riche Le Vernis #404

Read Article →

Hey guys! In my last post I blogged about getting these lovely nail polishes from Loreal during a Watsons sales event. So today I have on shade 404 on my nails which is a burgundy, oxblood colour, they came out redder in the photos but they are a lot more darker and burgundy in real life.

The Colour Riche Le Vernis nail polishes are very pigmented, for the pictures above I only used 1 coat and I'm very pleased with how they came out. I have them on for about a week and my right thumb has chipped a little. I did get compliments from friends.

They retail for around S$8.90 each and contain only 5ml of product. For reference, Seche Vite is 14ml and OPI polishes are 15ml. So for the price of S$8.90 I would consider the Colour Riche Le Vernis polishes to be on the pricier side. I got them on sale for 2 for S$12 which is a good deal considering that they are mini sized and there are so many shades in the range to try out.

If there is a sale or promotion for these nail polishes, I would highly recommend you guys to try them out if you are looking for high quality nail polishes in almost any shade.

Essence Floral Grunge 05 Black To The Roots

Read Article →

Remember a year ago I did a nail polish post on China Glaze's CG In The City topped over Revlon's 919 Black Lingerie? Click here to read. This nail polish is like a combination of the 2 in just 1 bottle. It is a black nail polish with silver glitters in it. It has a 'The Rough' sticker on it which means that it dries to a textured surface. This one dries matte, I didn't really care for the finish so I applied Seche Vite topcoat over it. I do like how it came out, very sultry. Essence Floral Grunge range retails for S$3.50 at Watsons. It chips 3-5 days, definitely does not last as long as brands like OPI or CG so what you pay is what you get, but for 3.50 I think it is a good price to just try out different colours. I would say that this is one of my favourite Essence nail polishes that I own currently so I highly recommend you guys check it out!

Essence Colour&Go 107 Naughty & Pink

Read Article →
Firstly, I want to apologize for the lack of makeup/fashion material on this post these days. Nail posts are really easy to write up and snap pictures but there will be a November haul very soon so stay tune for that. Today's awesome nail post is from Essence gorgeous shade 107 Naughty & Pink.

I tried something different and only used the colour for the tip of my fingernails. I don't tend to go for such a loud shade so I thought wearing it on just my fingertips would make the colour more wearable and appropriate for school/work.  I LOVE this shade! It is right between a hot pink and a red although it looks warmer in the swatches. A perfect festive colour for the chilly weather.

Essence Floral Grunge Nail Polish in 01 Be Flowerful

Read Article →

The Floral Grunge Nail Polishes are from Essence newest Trend Edition nail polish collection. Despite the name Floral Grunge, the 4 other shades in this range hardly resemble anything floral, with the colours gearing more towards pastel imo, the mints, purples and an abrupt black (really? out of nowhere?). But this one in particular, caught my eye instantly.

Very true to its name, 01 Be Flowerful is a nice spring peachy-coral shade which resembles a hibiscus flower. Disappointingly, the colour came out to be not as true as its name, it appeared orange on my nails and not so much coral. Although I still do really like the colour it came out.

The Floral Grunge nail polish collection retails at S$3.50 each. The wear is definitely longer than the Colour&Go range, 5 days and counting without any chipping. Do note that I did a thin layer of the Studio Nails 24/7 as base coat and Seche Vite on top. I am interested in trying out Lily Bloom (off-white) and Black To The Roots (black with silver glitters) from the same range.

Try it out and let me know what you think!

L - R: Studio Nails 24/7 Nail Base / Floral Grunge 01 Be Flowerful / Colour&Go 107 Naughty & Pink

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, life here is starting to get pretty busy but anyways, enough of the boring talk. Surprise surprise, I got 3 more polishes from Essence! I'm sure only a handful of you guys are interested in nail posts but I still wanted to share these gems with y'all. I previously got 5 nail products from them, and I really like their nail polishes so I went back and got some more.

I got 3 more polishes from them. I got the Studio Nails 24/7 Nail Base which is like a matte base coat, the Floral Grunge 01 Be Flowerful and another Colour&Go polish shade 107 Naughty & Pink. The base coat is amazing, it dries really quickly and I currently have on 01 Be Flowerful for almost a week now and it did not chip at all. I have my eyes on a few other polishes so I may go back and get them next week.

Essence Colour&Go 146 That's What I Mint

Read Article →

I love love love this shade. It is the 146 That's What I Mint (love the name play) from Essence nail polishes. I currently have it on right now and it is beautiful. That's What I Mint is a gorgeous apple green mint shade that reflects it true name. It is very pigmented and creamy, I only needed 2 coats to get a nice opaque mint shade and their nail polishes are only at S$2.90 each. I find that they chip around the tips at the third day, so apply a layer of topcoat on the second day may help with the chipping. In the pictures above, I have on 2 layers of TWIM and finished off with a layer of Essence Quick Dry Topcoat.

Similar polishes: Essie Mint Candy Apple, China Glaze Refresh Mint, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape.

Essence Colour & Go 120 Absolutely Blue

Read Article →

I've talked about Essence nail polishes before in my previous post, I stumbled upon this brand around last week at Watsons. Essence has a wide range of nail polishes and nail art supplies at a mad affordable price. We are all used to popular nail polish brands such as OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Butter London etc but those brands can be very pricey. And for girls who want to expand their nail polish collection quickly can go for a more cheaper alternative like Essence polishes.

120 Absolutely Blue is an amazing shade of lilac blue that is very unique. As shown in the first shot, the nail polish is very true to the colour in the bottle. And I assure you that the quality is comparable to the more expensive brands. I applied 2 layers of 120 Absolutely Blue and a layer of Essence Quick Dry topcoat. The topcoat is S$3.50 and the colour&go nail polish is S$2.90. Pretty cool eh?
