Teapot Love

I am having so much fun with my new Silhouette Cameo.  This past week I created two cards with this adorable little teapot.  It is available in the Silhouette store.  This image is Wryn Grow a Little Love from Tiddly Inks. I colored her with Copics.  Her dress is covered in glitter to hide an oops.  It takes a lot of practice to get back into the Copics rhythm.

The card inserts down into the teapot.  I added a button to the top so it was easier to pull out.

I created two cards with this Silhouette cut file.  One was pink and one was red.  I just love this teapot and I know I will use it over and over again.

I am really disliking the way that Blogger makes my pictures so blurry.  I used to upload to Flickr but have exceeded my limit there and refuse to pay the money to upgrade.  Any suggestions what is compatible with Blogger?  I need to do some research.  Plus set up a better system for taking pictures.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Krafty Wryn

Wryn-grow a little love_edited-1

Today over at The Kraft Journal blog the challenge is to emboss and embellish.  I picked this cute little Wryn image from Tiddly Inks for my card. She is called Grow A Little Love.
I used The Kraft Outlet's Brown Cover Weight Kraft Cardstock for the base of her card.  I embossed it with an embossing folder and then inked it up with pigment ink to bring out the embossing.  Then I also added a strip of the Vintage Dictionary page behind the main image.  Then I finished it off with an Extra Small Grungy Prim Tag with a bow and button for her embellishments.

Blog Candy Time

Teacup Kitty

I usually don't share much about my personal life on my blog but one of my new resolutions was to be more personable.  I have a couple of things to show you today. I have been busy up until last Friday when I took a tumble down our hardwood stairs.  Spent 4 hours in the emergency room.  Saturday we traveled back to my inlaws for their 60th wedding anniversary. So today I am feeling every ache and pain of that fall.  Luckily nothing was injured but my pride and my elbow. Hopefully it gets to feeling better soon.  I can't rest it long a table so no stamping this week.

I created this card for Teapot Tuesday over at Splitcoaststampers.  We sent our cards to Lydia's mom who is recovering too.  This sweet little Cup of Kitty is from Tiddly Inks.

I have been trying my hand at crocheting and created this card. It took me 2 hours to make 2 flowers.  Not too productive.  I used this You Tube video and replayed it about 10 times.

This past week was my sister's birthday.   We don't see one another often but I wanted to create a bookmark and a little journal for her.  Here is what I came up with:

009

The beautiful Victorian style lace is from Flourishes.  I LOVE this lace.  They are out of it at the moment but will be adding more soon.  I then added some stitched leaves made from felt.  I quilted the little bird. I had found a bird image on Pinterest and added the felt heart.  The Journal is a Kraft Journal from The Kraft Outlet.  These little journals are just right for this project.

Bookmark

I then created a bookmark to go with the book I gave her.  This book is amazing. The title is One Thousand Gifts, A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are.  It is not a book you would read in a day or even a week. It is like a wonderful dessert you savor.  It is wonderfully written by Ann Voskamp.  She also has a fabulous blog that I find very inspirational and I love her photography.

The bookmark is created using Flourishes Lenten Rose stamp set.  I stamped and colored with Flourishes Copics collections Fuchsia onto Flourishes Classic White cardstock. I stitched around the edges and added ribbon.  She got it on her birthday. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Next up are my inlaws.. they celebrated 60 years together this past weekend.  I am so happy that I was able to be a part of such a monumental occasion.  Wish I had been feeling better but we had a great time.

Lastly, my sweet son.  Baseball season is in full swing here in NC.  He is getting so big and I feel my momma's heartstrings tug each time I look at him.  He is such a special part of my life.

So that is what is new in my world.. I am ready to give away some blog candy.. Let me know what is one new thing that has made you smile this past week.  I am offering a $20 gift certificate to any online store of your choice that offers them.  That way it can be open to all my blog readers.  Plus no shipping for me. :) I will pick a winner on Saturday.

Hope You Can Cling To

This month over at Splitcoaststampers they have a Hope You Can Cling to challenge.  I have been wanting to join in on the fun.   I chose Teresa's challenge to add a heart to your creation.  This sweet image and paper is from Tiddly Inks.  One of my favorite digi companies.  This image is called You Are On My Mind.

Have a great day and a Happy Halloween.  We are off to church tonight for a family fun time with Trunk Or Treat.  I think I have the only child out there that does not like Halloween. I am so thankful our church has this fun and safe event for the kids on Halloween.

Hope You Can Cling To

HOPE YOU CAN CLING TO
More than a quarter of a million of the most talented paper artists in the world call Splitcoaststampers home,
and we are ready to help use those talents for a great cause.  Today it is my turn to host the Hope You Can Cling To challenge.  I created this sketch to spark your creativity:

Most of us have been touched, directly or
indirectly, by breast cancer, and all of us know the power of stamps, ink and paper when used to encourage.
Let’s make October a month to remember and give patients at the MD Anderson Cancer Center some hopethey can cling to! Check out all the requirements HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Christy Croll.  I contacted her in September asking if she would help me out and create an image and she came back with so much more.. The image and paper I used today came from herstore Tiddly Inks. You can see this image and paper here:  DARE TO BE AWARE.  Not only does she have amazing talent she has a huge heart too.. Thanks Christy.  This meant so much to me.
The ribbon I used is from my sweet friend Nikki..
The button is from the etsy store Tessa Ann.

My mom started the very first hospice over 20 years ago in our county.  She cared for so many that really needed not only the medical support but the emotional support too.  Through her, I learned the effect cancer has on so many families.. Wish she could see this card today.. How happy she would be.

I am so proud to be a part of this huge card drive.  Won't you come join in and make a difference.

Pretty Pink Girl

"It's not what you are that holds you back,
it's what you think you are not."
{ Denis Watley }

TiddlyInks2
My youngest daughter has a special relationship with my husband.
He has been a great step dad.. When she was little she always dared
to be different.  Pink was her color of choice and she wore anything
that was fashionable.  Including his shirts and ties.  As she became older
the kids started making fun of her individuality and it seemed to cast a
shadow of doubt upon her.  I wish that we all had the power
to be who we want to be......

Now mind you I think I see a bit of it returning.. Bet you can't guess which
one of these gals is her.. (in her defense she still likes the
color pink just not when it is in the eyes)  Poor kid has had pink eye
for a week.  She has found some pink and aqua sunglasses though...LOL

Last night as I was be-blogging around I came upon Tiddly Ink's
store.. I LOVE her images.  They are so adorable.  Crocheted
flower is from my sweet friend Sabrina..

Don't forget my blog candy...HERE

I found a few challenges that this fits....
Raise The Bar:  I used the colors of my daughter's bedroom and the bedspread is black and white
Just Us Girls Sketch:  I used a square instead of a circle.. But kept the layout the same.
