My Favorite PTI creation from 2010

As part of the anniversary festivities over on the PTI Blog this week, Nichole asked her dear followers to pick thier favorite PTI creation from last year.  This is mine.  :-)

Here is my scalloped circle card, made with the biggest Spellbinders scalloped circle die. I think the circle ends up being about 4 to 4.5" round when cut. It fits realnicely inside an A2 envelope. I used Bazzil cardstocks (kiwi and tangerine) along with some Echo Park pattern paper. How cool is that paper- butterflies all over!! LOVE it!!

Well, I couldn't help it, the butterflies were so darn cute, I had to make a matching envelope using the A2 envelope liner die from PTI.  I lined a Kraft envelope with the awesome paper, when die cut also include a score line.  Just tuck into the envelope and tack a little glue on the back of it to stay in place.

Here is a close-up of the card.

You can see that I used a white gel pen to add accent dots around the whole card. I also used some Stickles (glitter glue) on the butterfly wings. Copic markers were used to color the stamped images.

Shaped cards are so much fun, and it rarely enters my mind to make them. I think I'm going to have to give it a try more often.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a fabulous weekend.

HI Adorable Owl

Happy Wednesday Peeeeeeeeps!! Hope everyone is having a fan-tab-u-lous day! Here's a card I made using another adorable digi stamp from Pink Cat Studio. This owl cutie is called, Patches. This card follows Taylor's sketch for the DTGD challenges. I wanted to go woodsy theme on this card, since the owl was such a cutie and kinda reminds me of Woodsy Owl. Anyone remember him from back in the day??? Lol. You know, "Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute!!" The card is 5X5 square, on a PTI white base- immpresssed with the sunshine impression plate. I used Echo Park pattern papers- Walk in the Park collection. The image is colored with Copics, and die cut using Spellbinders Classic Circles LG and SM. I sponged new sprout Memento ink around the image. The letter stickers are from Echo Park's Life is Good collection. I used PTI twine to tie around the card. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Mahalo Kitty

Here's an adorable Kitty image from Pink Cat Studio, called Hula Kitty. I had fun making this card from some scraps that I had laying around on my craft desk.

The card base is 3.5"X5" and is the leftover strip from making a 5X5 card earlier. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the font impression plate from PTI.

The oval die cuts I had laying on the desk too, so I used them here. I colored the image with Copics and added glittery accents to the flowers and Kitty's collar, and glossy accents to Kitty's eyes. I sponged around the image with new sprout Memento ink. The sentiment is on a Labels 10 die cut, and also sponged with new sprout ink.

The ribbon is PTI raspberry fizz.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

Winter Wishes....in July!!

I am so glad that we were challenged to make a winter themed card in the DTGD challenges over on Splitcoast! It has been sooooo hot lately, unbearably hot! That may even be an understatement. So, I took great delight in making this card, imagining a much cooler place and maybe even some sparkly snowflakes falling all around me. :-) This was such an easy card to put together, just a simple Kraft base, then I used acrylic paint dabbers to paint the Unity Stamp Co snowflake stamp different colors onto the Kraft paper. Next, I tied some PTI Hawaiian Shores ribbon around the center of the card and adhered some Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphabet stickers onto the ribbon, spelling Winter. I also added a tiny dot of glitter glue to the centers of the snowflakes. Super easy-peasy!! Thanks so much for stopping by, STAY COOL.

Gerbera Daisies for a Friend

It's Monday, friends, and I have another fun card to share with you. This was super simple to make- I basically just stamped the images from the Flourishes- Gerbera Daisy set right onto the Kraft card base and colored them in with copics. I added some PTI Harvest Gold ribbon across the top to finish the card. One of the things I love most about Gerbera Daisies is that they are soooo bright and cheerful and come in such a variety of colors. So, on this card, I made a variety of different bright colored flowers.

If you have been playing along with the SplitcoastStampers DTGD 10 challenges, this card was made for the Winged Things challenge and for the Color on Color challenge. These challenges are so much fun, and I am so happy that I have been able to grab some time to participate this year!!

Hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

PAPERTREY JULY BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Hello everyone! Welcome to another fun evening of inspiration, brought to you by Papertrey Ink. Tonight is the monthly blog hop night, where Papertrey puts out a challenge to its customers, and we share our art and inspiration on our personal blogs!! Please start at the Papertrey BLOG for the list of wonderful artists who will be inspiring you this evening!!
This months challenge is: focusing on office supplies! We want to see you incorporate all of those fun desk drawer fillers into your paper crafting projects. This can include paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, file folders, staples, binder rings, labels, post-it notes, index cards, or whatever else you can dream up. Reinvent these basic office staples to be hip and trendy additions to your projects!
So, I had my daughter on my mind when making this card! She starts Kindergarten in September, and she LOVES LOVES LOVES the idea of heading off to school. I think my husband and I are more worried about it than she is!! She also loves the color orange, so I tired to incorporate alot of it here, and as part of the DTGD Challenges over on Splitcoast. (One challenge was to use the color orange as a main focal point on your project). I also incorporated a DTGD sketch challenge on this card!
Have you seen the new Papertrey Ink releases? They are sooooo awesome, and some are Back-to-School themed. For this project, I used the following PTI stamp sets: School Time, School Time Additions, and Library Card. I used the matching Library card die, to make the Orange Zest pouch on the front of the card. Its attached with red paper clips. The pattern paper is Echo Park Summertime and Walk in the Park collections. The card base is Hawaiian Shores.
Thanks so much for stopping by, enjoy your hop!!

Thank You, Raspberries

Happy Saturday my Paper Maniac Friends!! Today, I am sharing a card with the new Flourishes stamps- Berry Sweet. Have you seen the new release yet?? Ohhhh, it is soooo awesome.

It's a fairly simple card, just a basic cream base, and then I used Spellbinders Labels 10 dies for the image layers. I stamped the raspberry image in memento ink and colored it with copic markers. Then, over the raspberries, I used Glossy accents so the berries looked even fresher! (I have added a close up of the berries, below) I sponged Memento Summer Sky ink all over the image layer to resemble blue sky in the background. The ribbon is yellow double stitched.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!!

{Supplies}
Stamps: Flourishes- Berry Sweet.
Papers: Neenah Cream Cardstock, Bazzil Olive Green.
Ink: Memento.
Accessories: Yellow double stitched ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 10 dies, glossy accents, copics- YG93,97, RV17, 19.

I made this card following the DTGD10 challenges, and this challenge was a sketch brought to us by Kim Teasdale. Its such a fun sketch, if you have the time, come play along in the challenges with us!

This card uses some new Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold stitched ribbon and cardstock. (I LOVE this color- its right up there with Hawaiian Shores and Chartreuse) The pattern papers are from October Afternoon Fly a Kite and Basic Grey Lemonade collections. I used Ippity Stamps- Now and Always, and layered that big flower with different pattern papers. (That has now become a favorite past time of mine-LOL) The SU Top Note die came in handy for the middle of the card. The sentiment comes from the Flourishes stamp set- Gerbera Daisy. The buttons are PTI Vintage Buttons.

Felty Flower Friendship Card

I am having so much fun playing along with the DTGD10 (Dare to Get Dirty 2010) Challenges over on SplitcoastStampers. This one was for Kittie's challenge, called Lost and Found.

Her challenge to us was: Find something that may be lost, old or that may even appear unusable and think of the creative possibilies for a fun project to share with us.

My lost, old, unusable item is the FELT that I found, which was lost in my craft room (forgot I even had it), which I thought I wouldnt really be able to use....until....I found Papertrey Ink dies. These dies will cut right through, just about anything. I made these felty flowers using the beautiful blooms dies. LOVE them!! The flowers are threaded together with Papertrey rustic jute twine and topped with a vintage button. The sentiment is from the Flourishes stamp set, Gerbera Daisy, and is stamped onto a Fillable Frames 4 die cut. The frame around the die cut is from PTI Fillable Frames 4.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Merry Go Round

I have been playing with some of the new FLOURISHES releases. Their last release is soooooo awesome, and Paper Maniac carries them all.

This adorable merry-go-round image is from the "Enjoy the Ride" stamp set.

I made this card for the DTGD10 (Dare to Get Dirty 2010) challenges. Jeanne gave us an awesome challenge to use the colors Red, Yellow, Green and any neutrals on our card. So, I paired this awesome stamp image with some Papertrey Pure Poppy, Chartreuse and Vintage Cream. I sponged Dandelion memento ink around the Spellbinders Labels 9 die cut frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

Warmest Thoughts

This is a very interesting stamp image, found in the Unity Stamp Co June KOM. At first, I didnt really know what I wanted to do with it, but one day I just pulled it out and stamped it on a piece of scrap paper, just to see what it was all about. Well, I started coloring it with copic markers, and it started to "come along," so, I went with it. Then, I thought, let me find a spellbinders die that would fit this stamp, and Labels 10 fits it perfectly!! Next, (and this is where I thought the design would fall apart) I sponged around the top of the scene with summer sky memento ink, and the bottom with desert sand memento ink. I finished by painting the wave with Tim Holtz crackle paint. I placed the scene on some PTI Summer Sunrise cardstock and tied it with PTI Lemon Tart ribbon! The sentiment, warmest thoughts is also from the Unity June KOM.
Have a FABULOUS day!!

Celebrate

I just love the way these colors "go" together.
Kraft+ Orange Zest + Hawaiian Shores= FABULOUS!

I adore the Papertrey Ink stamp set, All About You. The big flowers and leaves are so fun to work with. I also LOVE Fillable Frames #5 and the matching die.

This card has a Kraft base, with an Orange Zest layer- that was impressed with the Sunshine impression plate from PTI. Then I colored in two large flowers from the All About You stamp set, cut them out, along with two sets of leaves. Then I stamped the fillable frames 5 frame onto Kraft cardstock using PTI fresh snow ink. I then used the matching die to cut the frames shape, created the scene on the front of the card and tied it all together with hawaiian shores ribbon. I added two hawaiian shores buttons for the flower centers too.

I am having sooooo much fun with these new Papertrey releases. FUN- FUN- FUN, I say!!

Have a great day!
