NEW: Eleni Mandell Video (in French!)

Everything sounds prettier in French: Eleni Mandell's recorded several songs in French recently, available on her Canadian tourdates this October! Here's the video for "Dis-moi Au Revoir Encore" ("Let's Say Goodbye Again"). I don't speak French at all, so I only have a general idea of what the song's about... but does it really matter when it sounds so nice? That Eleni -- she's always outdoing herself.

L.A.-based singer-songwriter Eleni Mandell is embarking on another tour this fall in both the U.S. and Canada in further support of her beautiful album, Miracle of Five, released earlier this year. New Eleni Mandell Video: "My Twin"

Another wonderfully whimsical Eleni Mandell video awaits you! The video, her third off 2007's Miracle of Five (following "Girls" and "Makeout King"), is a little retro-inspired noirish mystery set at at motel and a racetrack, which compliments Mandell's smoky, bluesy voice absolutely perfectly. The drowzy horns and slow-burning vocals make "My Twin" the perfect song to listen to while driving down Mulholland Drive with a scarf wrapped around your head, on your way to the detective agency. Beautiful, very evocative album.

Eleni Mandell: "The Wings In His Eyes"

Since my last post on the wonderful, L.A.-based Eleni Mandell seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle and disaster of re-working this blog, I think I’ll post about her again. After all, she SHOULD be more well-known, after releasing over 5 albums, all of which are strong and show her vocal talents and general badassery. She’s very versatile, and covers a number of genres through her various releases. And I don’t mean that in a calculated, Avril Lavigne sort of badassery - she doesn’t even have to try. This is probably her most
