These two darling little bears, who are probably in love, came from the Scrapper's Delights Progressive challenge. They are separate images but I merged them so that they would be looking at each other with their sweet daisies in their hands.

Ice Skating
Having grown up in an area where snow never falls and ice doesn't form on the ponds, any ice skating was done in a rink and the next town over actually had an ice rink. I was probably 10 or 11 years old when I discovered a pair of ice skates in one of my Grammy's old trunks and had to try them on, just for curiosity sake. They were a great fit, though a bit tight around the heel. She had very narrow feet!
I clumped around in them for a couple of weeks and finally asked my mother if she would drive me over to the ice rink. Forget that I'd never done anything other than roller skate and had no idea how to ice skate, nor that it was a 45 minute drive over to the next town - I was determined to go!
She was a loving mother and saw how much I wanted to try my hand (my feet? my rear end?) at ice skating so as my Christmas present that year, she managed to scrape up the funds for 3 ice skating lessons and faithfully drove me to the rink three different times for the lessons. What I learned is that ice skating isn't roller skating, that ice is harder than it looks, and that the Olympic ice skaters who look so magnificent probably did nothing other than practice, practice, practice all day long!
Fortunately for my backside, I quickly outgrew the skates as my feet increased in shoe size and Grammy's tiny skates had to be left behind. However, this darling image (progressive challenge freebie) from Scrapper's Delights brought back all those wonderful memories. :-D

Keeping Warm
This lovely image from the Scrapper's Delights Progressive Challenge should make anyone feel warm and cozy this winter. Since the temperatures where I live have dropped from "hot, hot, HOT" all the way down to autumn comfortable with delightfully cool nights, I'm more than willing to start making "keep warm" cards. :-D I don't know if she's drinking tea, coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider, or a hot toddy, but whatever it is, it seems to be working!

Pizza for Your Birthday
This image for the Scrapper's Delights July progressive challenge came at exactly the right time. A friend of mine was telling me that during her growing up years, birthday parties for each of the kids (there were 9 of them!) just weren't in the plan but the birthday child was allowed to choose what the family would have for dinner on the night of his/her birthday. Pizza was an incredible treat and not regularly on the family menu due to the cost. She loved pizza and that was her annual request for several years in a row.
When she went away for college, she practically lived on pizza. It was still expensive on a student's budget but since she was one of the few students who lived in a house instead of the dorms, she would offer to host parties as long as her friends brought the pizza. Genius!
In light of that story, this is her birthday card. And, yes, I'm ordering a pizza for her. :-D
Note: This is the first time I've colored black hair which was good enough that I was willing to share the result. It's a long learning process and I'm getting there slowly. I know it can stand improvement but give me credit for even using the image instead of just trashing it and starting over on the coloring.

Rose Girl
I had such fun coloring this beautiful rose girl image which is the image this month for the progressive challenge at Scrapper's Delights.
I colored with ProMarkers, then fussy cut the image and adhered it to an embossed piece of confetti CS. The embossing was done with a folder from Leane Creatif.
I cut a double frame using plain QuicKutz dies. The smaller of the two frames is embossed with glittered embossing powder and has wonderful sparkle, though that's hard to see in the photo.
The papers are all from DCWV. I printed and hand cut the sentiment, then added the tiny, pink bow. The silver in the middle of the bow is Liquid Pearls.

Dream Hunter
I love the freebie image from Scrapper's Delights for their Progressive Challenge this month! I think this elf decked out in his hunting gear is delightful.
Colored with ProMarkers, then both the image and the frame are cut with stitched dies from My Favorite Things Die-namics. The side piece is cut with a die from Memory Box.
Everything is mounted onto a kraft card base. I printed the sentiment, hand cut it, matted it with a scrap, and added it. I wanted this to be a simple card with only the die cuts as embellishment so I did nothing else.

Bunny Girl's Special Egg
OK, we're back to Easter cards again. The image for this one comes from Scrapper's Delights and is the one for their Progressive Challenge.
I colored with ProMarkers, then die cut the image with a QuicKutz die. I trimmed the left side of the die cut so that I could use it "off center." I used hot pink CS to make the card base.
The ribbon has glittered dots and a metallic edging. The sentiment was printed, hand cut, and adhered across the ribbon.

Sweet Summer
Time for another Progressive Challenge project, this time at Scrapper's Delights on their Facebook page. Such a great image for a summery card. :-D
I colored the image with my ProMarkers, using warm & bright, summery colors, and then cut it with one of my newest Spellbinders dies. The frame was cut with another new die and, while the two dies I used are from completely different companies, they work so well together you'd almost think they were both from the same Spellbinders set.
I wish I could tell you more about that second die I used for the dark orange frame but it's one of those "Unbranded" dies, sold by an online company I recently discovered where dies are sold at two-thirds to one-half the price of other dies. When they arrive, they are packaged in simple cellophane bags with no brands or markings of any kind. But they work just fine!
I tied a simple bow, using polka dot ribbon, then printed and cut the sentiment. The frames were so detailed that I felt they should be showcased instead of adding more embellishments.

My first card celebrating summer but that doesn't mean I'm rushing it to get here. Summer where I live means hot, hot, HOT!!! and I really am a cold weather person. Not the 'snow' kind of cold, but certainly I would love to be where it never gets hotter than 80 F. We suffer in the 105 to 110 range day after day after day from June through August, and often into September. I just sit and pray for it to be October. :-D Happy Stamping. NanaConnie

Rainy Day Fun
Another card for another of my favorite progressive challenges, this one at Scrapper's Delights.
This time I colored the image with a combination of chalks and ProMarkers; the girl is colored with ProMarkers and the background and raindrops are done with chalk markers. It's difficult to see but I added Glossy Accents to the rain puddle.
I die cut the image and the pink frame with dies from Spellbinders. The gray background paper is embossed with my 'Linen' folder. I added sheer ribbon and tied a bow.
The sentiment was part of the image set and I cut it with the smallest die from that set by Spellbinders. Even then, the die was larger than what I wanted so I cut the sentiment, then adjusted the bottom of the die upward and cut it again, making the sentiment piece narrower from top to bottom. The basic shape was still in line with the two larger cuts so it matches.

One Egg in the Basket
You've all heard the old adage about not putting all your eggs in one basket but this card shows what happens when there's only room for one egg in your basket! :-D The image is for the March Progressive Challenge image at Scrapper's Delights, another of the progressives I play regularly.
This time I colored it in pastel shades with my Copics and then cut it with a die from Spellbinders. I used a larger die from that same set to cut the bright pink mat. The sparkly ribbon was the last bit in my stash. The pink satin ribbon for the bow was recycled from an old child's dress.
Everything was layered together and adhered to a deep purple rectangle, then added to a pre-made card blank.

The Book of Love Stories
Scrapper's Delights offered a cute little book image as their challenge freebie for the February Facebook challenge and I decided to add a couple of cute little feline lovers from Fabrika Fantasy to celebrate this month of love stories.
I was on a very short deadline to finish this card so I used the pre-colored image, fussy cut it and added it on top of the book image. The sentiment is computer printed, cut, then added below the book. The red dp is from my scrap stash and the navy blue stripes are from SU. I tied the polka dot bow and added the sparkly, glittered heart for a bit of embellishment. The entire card took about 20 minutes to make.

Eleven Pipers Piping
OK, if you read the title of this post, you're already looking for the other 10 pipers. Don't bother. They headed out for the pizza parlour! After a long day of piping, they were more than ready for dinner.
The image came from Scrapper's Delights for their monthly progressive challenge on FB and I used my ProMarkers to color the piper. His flute is glittered and sparkly. I cut him with one of my Stitched, Scalloped Circle dies from Memory Box and trimmed one edge to match the sketch design.
I used dp with red and green buttons, then divided it into the spaces with narrow, striped ribbon. Doing it that way is so much easier than trying to get nine individual squares all lined up. :-D
The poinsettia is made with more die cuts (Die-namics) layered together. I cut two different red CSs and one green CS, and embossed them with a stylus. I used the flower as the one embellishment and called it done. Perhaps not exactly CAS in style but flat and easily mailed.

The Show Must Go On
I thought this cute circus performer (Scrapper's Delights Progressive Freebie) would make a great encouragement card for a gal trying to decide if continuing with college is something she can do in the face of also raising twin 6 year-olds. It does seem to be a juggling act, and nobody knows that better than I since I did that whole parent vs college student decision many years ago.
In the long run, it was worth everything it took, including a lot of nights with little or no sleep. Some people said I was lucky to graduate but was it luck or making one's own luck through perseverance?
The image is colored with my ProMarkers, then die cut with stitched rectangle dies from Die-namics, as is the sentiment. I layered that onto striped dp from the DCWV "Basics" stack. That became the card front and I added the twine for a bit of embellishment but still kept it a very CAS card design.

Miss Mummy Beauty Contest
I had so much fun making this card ! Each mummy is the exact same image but I flipped some of them and adjusted the size to get the row of beauties participating in the contest. It's amazing what can be done with digital images. :-D Of course, I'm going to use this as a Halloween card.
I used my ProMarkers to color the image (freebie from Scrapper's Delights for their FB Progressive Challenge) and the background. The sentiment was printed at the same time I printed the image. I added the ribbon (which is actually deep, apricot gold, not orange! It matches the sand color in the image) before I matted it with black CS. That entire piece is adhered with Pop Dots.
I added the polka dot bow (also not orange!) and slipped a piece of torn cheesecloth behind the upper corner, then added the three embellie dots to the top corner. Those are teeny pom poms so they give the card some great texture, as well as visual interest.
Challenges:

I do love fun Halloween cards. Not too crazy about the dark and truly spooky ones. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie

Measure Twice...
This is a second post for today but I have to get this one posted or I'll be out of time before I run away for a couple of weeks. This is for the FB Progressive Challenge at Scrapper's Delights. She reminded me of one of my dad's favorite sayings, "Measure Twice, Cut Once." He had three professions; chef, tailor, and fine cabinet/furniture maker. He was a perfectionist and believed in quality products, regardless of what product it was. Each of those professions required careful measuring and now that I'm a card maker, I realize how true that maxim can be. Dad, you'd be pleased to know I've adopted that motto as a way of life. :-D
Before I started, I knew I wanted to do a shaped card but I wanted something a bit different. I started planning by looking at my newest set of Spellbinders dies, Labels Seventeen. I knew I could use the largest die to cut the actual card shape, and then repeat it in both the image shape and a frame.
Having decided on that, I used my ProMarkers to color the image, then started die cutting all the various pieces. The polka dot dp is from SU and I cut a long rectangle then punched the corners. The sentiment was printed and hand cut. I added the bow which was made from white, satin ribbon, dyed blue with a marker.
