Letter "G" at 30 Days of Holidays

My next card in the 30 Days of Holidays at Beccy's Place is for the letter "G" and I have a Thanksgiving card to share.  The image is pre-colored clip art, printed in gray scale, and colored in my own chosen colors using pencils and alcohol markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the hot chocolate cup for a bit of shine.  Fortunately, it photographed really well.  I also added glitter to the steam coming off the cocoa.

Once colored, I cut the image with a Tonic Studios die, then matted it with a scrap of dp, also cut with a die (QuicKutz, I think.  I forgot to write it down.)  I decided to make a gate fold card and went searching through the scrap basket for papers to put on both sides of the gate.  On the left side (mostly covered by the image piece) I put Glossy Accents on the flowers.  For the right hand side, I used small rectangles of CS and put them onto the flap one above the other.

I put glitter EP on each of those small rectangle snippets and heat embossed them.  I love the sparkle.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die, then placed at the top of the image piece.

That's all I have for today.   So far, I'm doing pretty well at playing every day at Beccy's Place and I hope to be able to keep going for the entire month.  We'll see.  In the meantime, Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Little Gnomes

Beccy's Place has a fabulous (and optional!) "Flip a Coin" board on their challenge this month.  The theme is always Anything Goes with a Beccy's image but the optional board made the challenge that much more fun.  :-D

I used two of Beccy's gnomes, merged before printing (which wasn't all that easy because they are jpg files, not png files!)

(Decorated envelope)

Here's the board and a list of those I used:

1.  Blues, purples, greens
2.  Square card
3. Ribbon or Lace
4. Something shiny
5.  Decorate the envelope

Colored w/ ProMarkers
Glossy Accents added to lantern glow (for the shine)
Cut with QuicKutz lg square die
Corners done w/ Fiskars punch
Striped paper from DCWV
Lacy mesh ribbon

I'm trying to get my stock of Get Well cards replenished and when I saw this adorable QKR Stampede image, called "Sick Angel" (but misspelled in the shop as Angle), I knew I had to use it for my DT card for the newest weekly challenge which starts today.

Double Trouble Once Again

Once again, I'm posting a project I did as a Guest Designer at Double Trouble this month.  This challenge the theme is things which are related to Spring and our Double Trouble partner is Artsy Stamper and their theme is also "Spring."

This time, I did something a bit different for me - all die cuts; no hand colored image.  But I managed to incorporate ocean waves as my "water" and also included a cat so how bad can that be?  My "Spring Things" are birds, vines, butterflies, and a feline staring out the window.

Dies:  Window = Unbranded Dies
           Butterflies = Impression Obsession

Water World Mermaid

A summer card today, despite my recent focus on autumn cards in a desire to get summer over and done.  But this one has a cool color combo so it's almost as good.  :-D

The image is from LeAnn's World 101 and is the freebie given for their monthly Progressive Challenge.

I used the sketch again from Sketch Saturday
but this time flipped side to side.

Spring Fairy

It's taking me a long time to get each project finished but I think the shoulder is getting better on a very slow schedule.  How spoiled we are, expecting everything in life to be immediate.  :-D  Even spring has taken it's time in many regions but this little Conie Fong fairy is doing her best to banish the winter snows and bring on the spring butterflies.

I colored with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a die from Spellbinders.  I added sparkle to her
wings and the crystals have Glossy Accents on them.  Here's a close up photo for a better look.

The mesh ribbon is a scrap from my stash and the background piece was embossed with a folder from Couture Creations.  I printed and hand cut the sentiment, matting it with a scrap of CS, and added the tiny, hand tied, bow.

Birthday Flight for Pegasus

Welcome to another Friday and the start of another challenge week at QKR Stampede.  Our theme is always "Anything Goes" and you can use products or images from any company.  If you do choose to use a QKR Stampede image (or even one from our sister company, Eureka Stamps), your entry will go onto a separate draw and that increases your chances of winning by a huge margin!

This QKR image is called "Pegasus" and I love him to bits!

I based this card on the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches
but I reversed it and adjusted it for a vertical card.

I used ProMarkers to color the image and cut it with a stitched die from Card Deco.  I used my favorite purple paper with hearts and flowers on it as the background and added the sentiment to it.  I die cut all the flowers (Spellbinders), added glitter to two of them and to the lavender flower, then added tiny gems.  I added Glossy Accents to his eyes and wings but none of that shows up very well in the photo.

This is my oldest granddaughter's birthday card and I can share it on my blog because she's already seen it.  Her birthday was yesterday and she loved this card!  She's the one who really loves dragons but she also has a passion for Greek Mythology so this aging Pegasus was a definite hit.  :-D

Ladybugs and Daisies

We've had lots of rain this winter and we're grateful for every drop of it having been in or on the verge of a drought the last two years.  I haven't seen any ladybugs in my garden yet - I think it's still too cold for them to be out and about but I'm ready for a touch of spring anyway.  :-D  And no matter what the season, it's always time for Someone Special!

The image came from Ching-Chou Kuik and I colored it with my ProMarkers.  Although it's very difficult to see in the photo, I added Glossy Accents to the underwings and the white spots on the ladybugs.

The image is cut with a circle die from Spellbinders, leaving the leaves, flower petals, and wings out-of-the-box.  The red circle frame is cut out of a scrap of dp using a stitched, scalloped die from Memory Box. The background dp and the strip holding the sentiment are opposite sides of dp from a Paper House stack.

I added tiny, epoxy, flowers that have a heart in the middle to each end of the sentiment piece.

New Car for Christmas

This cute image is from the progressive challenge at Cute as a Button and it reminds me of what became a long running, family joke at the holidays.  One Christmas, when we asked my dad what he wanted for Christmas, he replied, "Well, maybe Santa will bring me a new car."  Now, even as kids we knew that Santa didn't bring presents to adults but on Christmas morning, when we all opened our packages, there under the tree was a small box for my dad and in it was a toy car!   Since nobody claimed to be the giver, we could only assume that Santa had indeed brought my dad a car.

Over the next 7 or 8 years, each year there was a package for my dad and each contained some kind of car - a toy, a kit to put together, a framed photo of that year's new car(s), etc.   One year there was even a Chevy dealer's calendar with a different car on each month.  lol  Everyone in the family loved the joke and nobody ever admitted they were the one to keep the joke going.

So, here's a salute to you, Dad, and here's your Christmas car for this year.  If he was still with us, I know he'd love it!

I colored with ProMarkers, added Glossy Accents to the car and sparkle gel ink to the part that would screw into the light socket, and then cut the image with a stitched die from Lawn Fawn.  All the smaller squares are also cut with Lawn Fawn dies and they were all cut from scraps.  The red circle was cut with a QuicKutz die.

The snowflake paper is from Doodlebug.  What doesn't show at all in the photo is that each snowflake is sparkly so there's lots of blingy, shimmer and shine.  I used burlap ribbon to tie the bow and I 'dyed' it green with a ProMarker.

CAS Christmas

This is my second post today so if you missed the first one, be sure to scroll down to the previous post.  It's worth a look.  :-D

Limited Runs has some wonderful Christmas images but I'm showcasing a very simple and large sentiment.  I'm going to make at least a dozen cards just like this one because it's one of those really quick, "git 'er done" (as my friend, Lynn, says) cards which is flat enough to mail.

I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
flipped side to side.

I used ProMarkers to color the candy cane letters in the sentiment and also the border around the sentiment.  I used die cut holly leaves and berries, adhered them with Pop Dots, and added Glossy Accents to the berries for some sparkle and shine.   Plain but bright, CAS and fast.  :-D

Merry Cat-mas

Here's my card for the sketch challenge at Catch the Bug's Holiday Chaos.  I'll show you a picture of the sketch below but I turned it a quarter turn so that it worked better with the shape of my image.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and I colored it with my ProMarkers, then added glitter to the snow and a touch of Glossy Accents to the white parts of the Santa hat.  I cut the image with a die from Gina Marie Dies.

I used a red card base, added two different papers, one with handwritten text and the other embossed with a striped folder from Sizzix.  I cut the sentiment with a die from QuicKutz and added it to the embossed paper.  I dug out three tiny, red, buttons and a black bow for embellishments.

Rainy Day Fun

Another card for another of my favorite progressive challenges, this one at Scrapper's Delights.

This time I colored the image with a combination of chalks and ProMarkers; the girl is colored with ProMarkers and the background and raindrops are done with chalk markers.  It's difficult to see but I added Glossy Accents to the rain puddle.

I die cut the image and the pink frame with dies from Spellbinders.  The gray background paper is embossed with my 'Linen' folder.  I added sheer ribbon and tied a bow.

The sentiment was part of the image set and I cut it with the smallest die from that set by Spellbinders.  Even then, the die was larger than what I wanted so I cut the sentiment, then adjusted the bottom of the die upward and cut it again, making the sentiment piece narrower from top to bottom.  The basic shape was still in line with the two larger cuts so it matches.
