Celebrate

Hello! Happy Weekend.  I managed to make another card for the Paper Smooches challenge this month:)  This month the challenge is to make a card with flowers...pretty easy!

And the card I made is filled with flowers.
For this card, I used some Echo Park paper and then I sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Colorshine (White).  I embossed the flowers from Blossoming Buds in white onto the paper and then embossed the flower banner and sentiment from Best Buds onto the same color paper and then die cut it.  I also die cut the shape from adhesive foam so that I could get some good overall dimension on the sentiment piece.  I added the sentiment over a die cut flag tag cut from some rose patterned paper.
I separated a piece of Twinery twine so that I was left with just white string. I added that to the card along with a few pink rhinestones.  I finished the card with a Kraft frame.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend:)

Floral Thank You

Good morning! Getting the weekend started after a fun weekend:) My kids are off today so our weekend is extended a little--which is always a bonus!

Wanted to pop in and share another card I made with the Gina K Designs Bold and Blooming Stamp TV kit.  I just love this kit!

I stamped the flowers in light ink and then colored them using Copic markers and die cutting them with small rectangle dies.  I sponged the edges with Ranger linen ink. The floral design was embossed in white and then I added the Thank You stamped tag. I finished this card with a bit of The Twinery twine!

Have a wonderful day--Thanks for stopping by!

Colorblocked Flowers and Blog Candy :)

Hello hello! Happy Friday!  Posting a little later than usual because I don't have my act together today:)
Sigh.  My head was wrapped around Spring weather--and BAM! 3 inches of snow---->  Back to hiding under the blankets by the fire.

Well, today I have a few fun things to share that will cheer one lucky someone up:)  But first, here is a fun card I made using the new Bold and Blooming Stamp TV kit from Gina K Designs.  I am guest designing for Gina this month and will be part of the team blog hop on Monday and Tuesday.  You don't want to miss it--there will be lots of inspiration using this fantastic new kit.

Here is my card:

I stamped the flowers on pure luxury white cardstock and then colored them with Copic markers.  Then I die cut them using the dies in the kit.  I also die cut some adhesive foam (found at my local Michael's store in the felt aisle) with the dies to give the flowers some lift.  The background was sponged using Ranger distress inks (seedless preserves, mustard seed, peacock feathers). This panel was popped onto some wild lilac cardstock and distressed around the edges. I tied some Twinery twine around the main panel before adhering it to the cardbase using Scor-Tape.

Now onto the fun-  One lucky subscriber will get this little assortment.  It's always fun to get new goodies to play with.  Included is ...Grey Skies Happy stamps set (Unity Stamps Co.), Little Branches stamp set (Gina K Designs) and Party On stamp set (Gina K Designs).  I am also including a full size Ranger Distress Oxide Fired Brick stamp pad:)  Fun!  Ok. Since this is a subscriber only contest, Please only enter if you subscribe to my blog feed.  (Any subscription service is acceptable.)
Just leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, March 15 at 6 am. EST.  Random.Cara will pick a winner and it will be posted so be sure to check back to see if it's you! Good luck!

xoxo Paper Smooches

Hello!
Back with my Paper Smooches projects for the week.  I cannot believe these are my final ones--->this  month flew and I had an absolute blast working with Kim! Thanks so much, Kim!

The first card was created using Let's Celebrate stamp set.  I clear embossed the sentiment on white cardstock and then stamped the balloons over top.  I added the balloon strings from Party Balloons Dies and some confetti from Let's Celebrate stamp set:

Next, I used this precious cupcake from Sweet Dies for this card.  After piecing together the cupcake, I popped it up onto a panel covered in strips of washi tape. (This is a great way to use some of that huge stash!)
I die cut the sentiment Celebrate and added it to the bottom. Simple!

Hope you enjoyed my Paper Smooches projects this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthday Greetings

Hi!  I am back with my Paper Smooches projects for this week:)

For my first card, I die cut the cupcake (Sweets Dies) from felt and used the top portion to make an ice cream cone.  The background is stamped lightly with polka dots from Let's Celebrate stamp set.  I die cut the Celebrate word and added it to the Flag banner:

Next, I used the cupcake die from Sweets Dies again for this card.  I added some colorful coordinating confetti and a sentiment from  Let's Celebrate set :

Pink Love

Hello!

Just popping in with a Valentine---I die cut the Love word die from Paper Smooches from some adhesive foam and then sponged it with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I also clear embossed a heart image along the bottom that I found in my stamps but have no idea where it came from. I am assuming it is pretty old?!

Added some Heidi Swapp glitter hearts, SRM sticker stitches and some black twine (The Twinery) to finish it up:

Hello Friends

Hello! Playing again with My Favorite Things Cute Critters stamps.  I ended up die cutting and stamping a lot of these guys and I spend the time at my daughter's tennis lessons coloring them.  Then, I just have to pop them on a card....once I figure out how I want to use them!

And here is basic sympathy design I came up with using stamps from Gina K. Designs (large flower, sentiment) and My Favorite Things (small flower). The large bloom is embossed in white and then I die cut and stamped the two colors on the small flower and popped it up.  I embossed the sentiment and then just added some hemp and a piece of washi tape in the background.  I like the simplicity of it.

Hope your October is going well. Do you decorate for fall or for Halloween?  I love it but never make it too scary because I am a wimp.  I have been spending a lot of time getting the house ready for the Halloween festivities.  Pictures to come :)

Gasp! More cards...

Hello! Me again---I know....twice in one week:)  I will get more creative with my post titles once I get used to this again.  Right now, I am just having fun delving into all the stamps and dies that I have gotten in the past year but have not had time to use.

First up is a birthday card which uses My Favorite Things Birthday Sentiments and Lucky Stars Dienamics. I also used some star stamp outlines from Out of this World because it was sitting on my desk and I thought a few stars among the die cuts would go well.
For this card, I placed the stars (not pulled apart) on the cardstock front and die cut them.  Then I pieced cardstock scraps behind the cut out stars. I stamped the fun sentiment in Memento Love Letter ink and added some Twinery twine and a few rhinestones:

The next card features one of my favorite sets: Cute Critters from My Favorite Things.  I die cut and stamped the raccoon, colored him with Copic markers and popped him up. I die cut the hearts using Tag Builders #5. The patterned paper is from Echo Park (Sweet Day). I sponged the edges of the card with some Tea Dye Distress ink. Finally, I added a bit of Twinery twine to the bottom of the card:

What's Up?

....Apparently stamp sales are!  I promise I do have lots of cards to share but the problem is that the sets that I used on them are all sold out currently :(  I guess that is a good problem to have!

Here is a Diva card that I can share--

For this card I used Scooter Diva and the new Day at the Park Diva (The sentiment and kite).  I layered the sentiment on a stamped circle design from Lots of Dots (currently out of stock) and the ground treatment was made using Stamp It Big (currently out of stock).
I finished the card off with a little bit of Caribbean twine (The Twinery)!

Special thanks to everyone who bought my set--Stamp It Big --it has been sold out for awhile and I am hoping it gets restocked soon so I can share more ideas using it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Twinery "Be Our Valentine" Series: Day 7

Hello! Have you seen the "Be Our Valentine" Series going on over at The Twinery blog yet?   If not, you don't want to miss a day---it is full of inspiring projects, home decor ideas, free printables and some fantastic giveaways!  Today is Day 7 in the series.

Today's feature is Party Favors!  Since the theme of the series is "Be Our Valentine" I decided to create a Valentine party favor:

I dressed up a clear pillow box (SRM Stickers) using an adorable Silhouette cut file by Samantha Walker called Hug and a Heart and some baker's twine- Charcoal, Pink Sorbet and created this little treat holder  for a sweet valentine cutie:
I love using baker's twine to "dress up" fun designs.  In this case, I tied some Pink Sorbet sassy bows for the little cutie's hair and I created a small heart banner for the little girl to hold using the Charcoal baker's twine.  I tied some extra Pink Sorbet twine around the base of the pillow box and tied it on the lower right side near the sentiment.

I know one little girl who will be jazzed to get this on Valentine's Day!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out The Twinery blog for lots of inspiring ideas and a fun giveaway!

Stamp It BIG on Stamp TV...and a Giveaway!

Today, my new Gina K Designs stamp set---Stamp it BIG! makes its television debut on StampTV.  You can check out Gina's video HERE!

I am so excited to see what Gina came up with.  I was inspired to grab my set and create a few new cards as well---->

For my first card, I wanted to do a Subway Art inspired card.  Here is what I came up with:

To create the main design, I used a piece of pure luxury white cardstock and then lightly added some lines across to help me keep the design straight. (Even though they are clear stamps, when you are stamping lots of different sentiments and images you can mess up the design if one is even just a little off kilter.) NOTE: the Wish sentiment is part of the "Wishes" stamp in the set, I just inked the front part of the word for this card.

To help keep the sentiments perfectly straight, I lie down the sentiment on scrap paper as I want it to stamp and then...
I place my clear block right on top of the stamp.  This puts it on the block perfectly straight.  If you place larger sentiments on the block by hand, they can move a little and you will notice the image being a little off when you stamp. (Disregard the unclean block and stamp :)

Next, I used the Stamp it Big cut file for the large speech bubble and small hearts.  I embossed the thanks sentiment on the speech bubble and popped it up on the card.  I stamped the little dog from You Say Goodbye and I Say Ello! (by Becky Oehlers) on the bottom :
 And, finally...another thanks card:
For this card, I stamped the black lines along the bottom using the striped block from the Stamp it BIG set.  I added a strip of washi tape (that I received for Christmas from a dear friend--Thanks Michelle!) on top of it.  I stamped the thanks sentiment in  Memento tuxedo black ink and then underneath, I stamped the large flower from the set.  Using another piece of white cardstock, I stamped the polka-dotted block stamp from the set twice and the small flower once.  I used a small circle punch to punch the circles from the stamped designs and covered them with old brad covers I had from Stampin' Up!  They look really shiny  IRL!

Here is a close up of the brads:

That is all for today!  I hope you liked the projects today and the video Gina shared.  I so appreciate all the sweet comments you all have posted the past few weeks.  So, I would love to gift a Stamp it BIG set to one of you today. So...just leave me a comment below by Sunday, February 10 at 8 a.m. EST time Random.Cara will pick a winner (and if you already purchased the set---you will be able to pick a different set from Gina K Designs!)  The winner will have three days to contact me after I post before I select a new winner.

Valentine Friend

Hi there!   I was just playing around with my new stamp set, Stamp it Big, and had a few of the pieced from the Stamp it Big Silhouette cut file sitting on my desk.  Some were stamped and some weren't and I thought they looked pretty cool just piled up.  So I ran with that and created this:

I used these Silhouette cut pieces from the Stamp It Big cut file (smaller flower, hearts, larger flower, star) and strung the elements along the twine, popping some up for added interest.  I used the same elements in the stamp set and stamped on the pieces using these Gina K Designs inks:  Ocean Mist, Red Hot.   I used a die cut heart and stamped the checkerboard pattern block on the inside of it.  I stamped the large "Friend" sentiment on the bottom.

I added a strip of Black Sticker stitches (SRM Stickers) along the top of the card to finish it up!

Easy, quick and fun! Thanks for stopping by!

More Stamp It Big Inspiration

Hello! Happy Friday!  I have two more cards to share today using my new stamp set Stamp It Big (Gina K Designs).
For the first card, I used the coordinating Stamp It Big Silhouette Cut file to cut the outline for the word "Friends" and then I stamped the word inside.  I stamped the stripes along the bottom lining up the striped block.  I cut a scalloped border from the silhouette file to add under the orange paper and stamped "forever" onto it.  I stamped the flowers along the top of the sentiment and added some hand stitching (drawn lines using a marker) between the flowers.  I finished it off with some Mandarin twine from The Twinery.
The next card is a CAS card using Stamp it Big.  I punched the hearts using a heart punch and then stamped the square patterns on to them in Lady Bug and Bahama Blue ink.  I tied some Caribbean baker's twine and added it to the card and then added the hearts and some Ocean Mist buttons (new to the Gina K Store).  The final touch was stamping the sentiment along the bottom and adding a black accent.
That is it!  Hope you are being inspired with different ways to use this set!  I am having lots of fun sharing my ideas!  I would love to see yours---if you bought this set and have a card you would like to share, please email me :)
