Happy Hugs!

Hello! I am popping in to share this little greeting using ...full of happy hugs (Unity Stamp Co.).  I love this image and it was so fun to color using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  The greeting is a die from Paper Smooches (Love word die).

I have some fun stuff coming up to share ---> but first, back to laundry and recovering from a week away.
Have a great day!  Thank you for stopping by!

HUGS

Happy Monday!

Just popping in to share a card I made with My Favorite Things set called Fancy Flowers.  For this card, I embossed the flowers in white onto black cardstock.  The main panel was created by stamping the flower and coloring it with Copic markers.   I stamped the flower again on white cardstock and colored it and cut out the center portion so I could pop it up over the first one:

I added a strip of blue paper over the bottom of this focal panel and then die cut the word HUGS (Words for Friends) from black cardstock and placed it on top.

I finished it off with a little sheer ribbon.

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!  It's a great time of year to use this set called Heart Bouquet from My Favorite Things:

I stamped her in some light ink and colored her with Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils.  Such a sweet stamp!

Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!  ðŸ˜˜

Pink Love

Hello!

Just popping in with a Valentine---I die cut the Love word die from Paper Smooches from some adhesive foam and then sponged it with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I also clear embossed a heart image along the bottom that I found in my stamps but have no idea where it came from. I am assuming it is pretty old?!

Added some Heidi Swapp glitter hearts, SRM sticker stitches and some black twine (The Twinery) to finish it up:

The Twinery and My Little Shoebox Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to The Twinery and My Little Shoebox blog hop event.  All week, designers from both teams will be showcasing these products together.  I just know you will be inspired by all the wonderful things everyone came up with to share with you.

You should have come here from My Little Shoebox blog.  If not, and you want to start at the beginning, head on over to The Twinery blog!

Here are a few cards I made to share today.   LOVE:  The first card was created by folding the round scalloped Lovely Day-Flower Ring Circle paper in half and then cutting it in half the other way and trimming the side.  I used several flower stickers from Lovely Day to add along the top of the card and then I added the large flower (that I made by stacking two Happy Go Lucky 3D Roll Up flowers).  Each of the smaller flowers has a small twine circle layer in the center (Pink Sorbet, Buttercreme).   I added some Buttercreme yellow inside the larger flower.  The labels (Lovely Day Sticker sheet, and Lovely Day New Story) are stacked up to create the background for the sentiment.  I inked all the edges of the card with Distress ink.

HI:  The next card uses more stickers from Lovely Day. I layered the stickers over the patterned paper (Lovely Day: Let the Sun Shine) and ran some Charcoal and Pink Sorbet baker's twine up and over the layer to "hang" the birdcages.   I also used some Honeydew baker's twine to add a bow under the sentiment stickers (Lovely Day Cardstock sticker). I cut some Happy Go Lucky: All A Bloom paper to add some fun to the bottom of the card.  To complete the card, rounded the top corner and added some colorful rhinestones to the centers of the little flowers.

ALL You NEED IS LOVE:  Finally the last card I made uses some Happy Go Lucky: Ride Along paper.   I cut the adorable little couple from Happy Go Lucky: Out and About paper.  I punched the heart form the coordinating red paper (Lovely Day: Raspberry).  I popped up the cloud stickers (Lovely Day Stickers) and then created grass by wrapping the Honeydew baker's twine over the green coordinating paper (Happy Go Lucky:Cricket).  I stapled a few of the edges to keep them all in line:

Hope you enjoyed these cards. I LOVED playing with My Little Shoebox paper this week.  I especially love that they include coordinating solid sheets of paper for their collections!  What fun designs and what a great match for The Twinery baker's twine!

Blog Candy:  Be sure to comment on all the blogs for your chance to
win a set of FOUR SPOOLS OF THE WINNER CHOICE ($48) value from The Twinery.  The deadline to comment is 11:59pm EDT, June 24th.  The Twinery will post the winner on their blog.

Love Roo!

Hello there! I have a happy little card to share today that will [hopefully] bring a smile to your face on this Wednesday morning:)

While being totally constructive and not wasting any time by surfing around on some of my favorite stamp sites...I stumbled across the newest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  And, yep---I was inspired by this photo to play along:
Cute, ugh?  Might have to try to make some of those!  You can find all the challenge details on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog:

Here is my take on the inspiration photo:

Here is a close-up of the kangaroo. (My son told me that I did an ok job on it :) hee!

Supplies:
Stamps- A Little Lovin, Houndstooth, Geo Graphic (Paper Smooches); cardstock- white (Gina K Designs); patterned paper- Wayfarer mini print (Bazzill Basics Paper); Dies- cloud trio, fresh cut grass (Die-namics, My Favorite Things); baker's twine-blossom (The Twinery); ink-Memento tuxedo black, orchid pastel, yellow citrus, blue lagoon (Cat's Eye Chalk ink- Colorbok); Copic markers; felt- Chartruse (Papertrey Ink); sewing machine; Zapdots (Helmar); ribbon- chevron blue (May Arts).

I was inspired by the fun colors and textures in the photo and I wanted to make a spring-ish card because of the bunnies.  I decided to use the kangaroo and sentiment from A Little Lovin (cause I love them!) and built a Spring scene using them.

I incorporated some felt to get the texture in from the inspiration picture.  I stitched along the felt grass to get some stitching in there too.

I used some of the colors  from the bunny's ears on the card by stamping background designs (Geo Graphic, Houndstooth) on the die-cut clouds.

What a fun challenge!  But, don't take my word for it --------> Click on the Paper Smooches logo to play along!

Love Story Album

Hello!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Cannot believe it is Monday....again!  Seems like there are more Mondays than any other day :)

Today I wanted to share a project I had on the Helmar blog this weekend.  It is a mini album.  I thought this would be a great idea to write down all the stories that I have heard growing up about my parents, grandparents and great grandparents.  Then, the stories could be passed on to my kids and their kids...

The album is called "Love Story":
I used Helmar Acid Free glue to adhere the patterned paper to the album, after I painted the edges with some butter creme acrylic paint.

I used Helmar Zapdots to pop up the title stickers and the chipboard panel on the cover.  I LOVE the dimension I can get from the Zapdots.   I used the black circles for this project because they are large enough to hold the weight of the chipboard.

The patterned paper and stickers on this album are by Authentique - Uncommon Collection.

Other supplies:
Chipboard album
Butter creme Acrylic paint
Rub on - Et Cetera (Bo Bunny)
Heart Die- The Cat's Pajamas
Patterned paper/ Letter stickers/ word stickers- Uncommon Collection - Authentique
Key charm
Tulle
Ink- Tea dye distress ink (Ranger); Memento Tuxedo black
Stamp- It's Ok (Technique Tuesday)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Not a winner....but feel like one!

Hello friends! Thank you so very much for your sweet words on my last post. I cannot believe how many people took the time to post here and/or on the Echo Park blog. You are so sweet and it totally made my day. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends.

Today....I have a different story. I created this card for the World Card Making Day contest hosted by Paper Crafts magazine. I didn't win. I just wanted to share because sometimes it seems like the same people always win or get picked for things and that may be true....
But....that isn't me :) Ha!

I STILL love this card so I figured I would share it with you today. Although it is pretty simple...it is one of my favorite cards I have created lately:

Heart die is by My Favorite Things- Hearts a Plenty. Designer paper is by Echo Park :) and the sticker is by SRM stickers- Fancy Sentiments-Love.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gina K Preview Day 2

Hello! Welcome to Gina K Designs preview day 2! Today the design team is showing their creations with two more new sets that will be released on Thursday--Little Critters (Illustrated by Theresa Momber) and Chocolate Bunnies (Illustrated by Asela Hopkins).

Here are my creations:
For my first card I used Little Critters. I used the sweet frog image..just used the frog part of the stamp and paired it with the adorable sentiment. I colored the frog with Copic markers. The designer paper by Echo Park goes perfectly with the Pure Luxury Ocean Mist cardstock.

Next is my card using Chocolate Bunnies:
I wanted to use one of the bunnies in a non-chocolate way so I created a little Easter scene with him hopping along.

Here is my Spring-y card:

I used Dream Birds to create this card. The challenge this month is to use at least two of the Spring has Sprung Cardstock Collection. I used four of the colors on this card: creme de menthe, innocent pink, lemon drop and ocean mist!

I entered this into the Moxie Fab Fun with Floss challenge. I LOVE using floss on my cards. I created this heart by placing a chipboard shape on the cardstock and using a piercing tool to poke holes around it. Then, I threaded the floss through the holes. I love the texture this adds!

Materials used: Stamps: Dream Birds (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black ink; cardstock-white, kraft, creme de menthe, innocent pink, lemon drop, ocean mist (Gina K Designs); ribbon; Copic markers; circle punch, tab punch (SU!); rub-on (OneHeartOneMind); adhesive pearls (Recollections); swiss dots embossing folder (Provocraft); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); embroidery floss; sewing machine.

Gina K Preview Day 3!

Welcome to Day Three of the Gina K Previews. Tonight you get to see peeks of two more stamp sets- Dream Birds (by Asela Hopkins) and Spring Florals.

Since there is a card kit team showing designs with the Spring Florals set, I chose to focus my post on Dream Birds. I wanted to show how versatile this set is by showing two different designs and color combinations using it.

My first project is a little treat holder:
I stamped the tic tac toe heart and X design on white cardstock and then pieced the hearts. I added it to the front panel of this treat holder (which measures 2 by 2 and is a cinch to make with your Scor-Pal.)
I free hand cut a heart out of cardstock and then stamped the LOVE sentiment (LOVE this!) and then pieced the letters using the same cardstock.

I added some ribbon ties by punching small holes in the top of the front and back panels and then threading the ribbon through and tying them.

Gina K cardstock used: white, lipstick red, innocent pink.

Materials used: Stamps-Dream Birds; Memento tuxedo black ink; cardstock-Pure luxury white, lipstick red, innocent pink (Gina K Designs); assorted ribbon (Gina K Designs and SU!); Cropadile, Scor-Pal.

Next, here is a card I created with this set:
I love this bird with the flowers. It seems so simple...but the adorable design lends itself well to so many designs. I thought it would be fun to show off some of the Gina K cardstock colors using this image...and of course I used the LOVE stamp again! (sigh!)

The cardstock colors I used are kraft, lovely lavender (new this month!), lemon drop (new this month!), creme de menthe and of course, white.
I used some Spring Assortment ribbon on this card too!!
Materials used: Stamps-Dream Birds (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black; cardstock-white, kraft, lovely lavender, lemon drop, creme de menthe (Gina K Designs); ribbon-Spring Assortment (Gina K Designs); pearl accents.
******
For a limited time, a free Card Kit will automatically be included with each purchase of the Spring Florals stamp set. The entire kit includes the stamp set, a binder sheet, the instructions and materials to make 3 complete cards for $19.95. For more details on the cards, please visit Jessica Fick's blog.

Then, check in with each of these Gina K designers to see all the beautiful projects they've made with the two stamp sets previewed tonight!

Hello! Tonight Nina is hosting a blog hop featuring her newest set Heartily Yours. Here is the card I created with some of the images from the set:
I stamped the birds on the white base and then stamped the birds in red ink on scrap paper so I could piece the wings on top of the original.

I colored a sateen flower using a red Copic marker for a touch of color.

Materials used: Stamps-Heartily Yours (Gina K Designs); Memento black ink; black and red markers (SU!); Copic markers; sateen flower (Gina K Designs); brads (Gina K Designs; cardstock-white pure luxury (Gina K Designs); designer paper-Farm Fresh (October Afternoon), small red dots (Recollections, Michael's); slit punch (SU!); hemp.

Sticky Situation and Gina K Preview Day 2

Hello everyone!

Today started with a bang. I was at the grocery store and dropped a syrup bottle on the ground when trying to transfer it from my cart to the check out counter. Even though it was a plastic bottle, it did break and syrup splattered everywhere. So, I asked the lady behind the counter for some paper towels...(she was not happy). She handed me some paper towels and a spray cleaner. I turned to go clean up the mess (don't they have someone there who does that?) and............yep, dropped the cleaner bottle.....it cracked. (giggle!) WHAT is that floor made of anyway???

That was pretty much how my day way today...... FYI: Syrup is very sticky, just so you know!

Today the Gina K Design team is previewing another two sets that will be released Thursday night! First, here is a card I created with Rupa's new set- Warm and Wonderful:
I LOVE the sled in this set and the sentiment is just perfect. So I combined them and added a bit of heart (love) and this makes a sweet card for someone who is far away during the holidays. The sentiment reads:

Love
is missing someone
whenever you're apart,
but somehow feeling warm inside
because you're close in heart.

The sled was stamped on white pure luxury with Copic markers and then adhered to the main panel.

Materials used: Stamps-Warm and Wonderful (Gina k Designs); Memento black ink; Ranger tea dye distress ink; sponge; Copic markers; cardstock-kraft, ivory (Gina K Designs); designer paper-Grandma's Christmas Soup (jillibean soup); Norm's News (October Afternoon); metallic dots (Jo Ann's); hemp; bells; ribbon (The Paper Studio); small heart punch.

Next, here is what I created with Theresa's set Life is Good :

There was something about that buck.....I knew I wanted to make a card with him and ended up making a more masculine design. I used some dp and the Calendar Grid stamp for the background and then added a sentiment inside the sun.

Materials used: Stamps-Life is Good, Calendar Grid (Gina K Designs); ink-Vintage Photo distress ink (Ranger); summer sun, more mustard (SU!); sponge; circle punch (SU!) ;designer paper-Autumn stack (Recollections); Ribbon-FV Trims Lizzie (Making Memories); hemp (SU!); small circle punch; brads; stapler.

Gina K Preview Day 1

Hello! Welcome to day 1 of the Gina K Designs previews!!! Today the design team is sharing projects created with Lovely Shelf and Tech Talk!

For my first card, I used Lovely Shelf and created a birthday card for my baby sister (who is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday Clare!):

I stamped the greeting right onto the card base and then added the border around the flower vase using a ruler and a black artist pen. I left the word "sister" right next to the flower (it is how it comes when you get the stamp sheet) because I knew I wanted to make a birthday greeting and thought it would be a great placement of that part of the sentiment.

After coloring the flower vase with Copics, I added some stickles to the center of the flowers. The bottom part of this card features the two new pure luxury colors that will be added to the store on Thursday--Ocean Mist and Crème de Menthe. Beautiful!!! Love these colors!

Materials used: Stamps-Lovely Shelf; Memento tuxedo black ink; Copic Markers; cardstock-white, Ocean mist, Crème de Menthe (Gina K Designs); ribbon-Offray; stickles- Tiara (Ranger); slit punch (SU!); black artist pen.

Next, here is my card using Tech Talk:
This set has lots of images to create the perfect desk but I wanted to focus more on the love notes....so I paired the cute envelope with the laptop and fun greeting. Since the computer is the primary way my husband and I communicate...I thought this would be perfect.

Materials used: Stamps-Tech Talk (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black ink; Copic markers; cardstock-white-Gina K Designs); designer paper-Everyday, Long Time No See (American Crafts) ; adhesive stickers (Recollections); ribbon (SU!); corner rounder punch; sewing machine.

For even more ways to use these fabulous stamp sets, please check tonight's featured Illustrator's blogs:

Then, visit the designers who are participating in the previews tonight:

We also have two of our special Center Stage Spotlight Designer's joining us with samples as well:

FLAT is in!

I have been trying to create some designs that would be very simple to mail and require no additional postage.

Today, I made this card, which features Polar Love by My Favorite Things. The only touch of texture on this is the fringe ribbon....but it is very thin and does not bulk up a card for mailing. (I am thinking about this a lot these days as I am currently sending a TON of mail out!)

This set is so sweet--I just LOVE the bears holding onto the heart. I colored the scarf and then added the extra lines to make it striped. I added a bit of crystal stickles to it to give it a bit of sparkle. I stamped the sentiment and then cut it up to add along the designer paper.

Materials used: Polar Love (My Favorite Things); Memento black ink; Copic markers; stickles-crystal (Ranger); cardstock-white, ivory (Gina K Designs); designer paper-Cosmo Cricket, The Paper Studio; corner rounder punch; fringe ribbon (Hobby Lobby).

Thanks for stopping by today!
