KCRW GETS TOXIC

I was able to see The Airborne Toxic Event a few months back at Spaceland in Silverlake. Since that show, the band has appeared on the Late Show with Conan O’Brien and on KCRW’s Morning Become Eclectic.

They are back in town this week to perform at the El Rey tomorrow night. In the meantime, check out their live session with KCRW.

I WOULDN'T SAY TOXIC, BUT EXPLOSIVE!!

After a long and strenuous, day, I can FINALLY talk about the show I saw last night at Spaceland, The Airborne Toxic Event! By the time I had arrived the place was PACKED! So obviously they have a very serious fan base, and I highly recommend that you check them out www.myspace.com/theairbornetoxicevent . They came on strong with high and positive energy, and did it in front of a hometown crowd! Think Coldplay meets The National meets Low vs. Diamond, but with their own twist! They all came out with smiles, and greeted the audience with such high enthusiasm, and then busted out their tunes! They had all the right components: guitar, bass, drums, voice, and my personal favorite, the fiddle, which added such a great addition! So please, right now, click the link above, and give them a listen! A for sure L.A. staple, and you should see them now while you can in a small venue, as I am certain they are on their way to explosive greatness!

DON'T FORGET,TONIGHT AT THE TROUBADOUR IN WEST HOLLYWOOD!!!!!! MARTHA WAINWRIGHT! A SHOW I RECOMMEND NOT MISSING!! She goes on at 10, and trust me, another show worth attending!! Stay tuned for tomorrow on a full report of the show. I have had the pleasure of meeting her and not only is she the sister of Rufus, but one of the most AMAZING performers to date! She truly plays with emotion and feeling and is genuine in her performance and intimacy with the audience.

DANGER DANGER

WARNING:

The Airborne Toxic Event is "Going Green". "Going Green"? With a name like The Airborne Toxic event, you would think something terrible was about to happen. Well, don't let the name of this band from Los Feliz, California scare you. This is the band that will be performing live at Rockcycle, which is the event I posted earlier sponsored by Indie 103 & www.bottlesandcans.com.

Check em out performing 'Something Around Midnight'.
