KCRW WELCOMES CHROMEO



Chromeo has a new record coming out and the boys stopped off in Hollywood over the weekend to give us a taste. Not only did they play a huge show at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, but they also hit up the studios at KCRW for Morning Becomes Eclectic.

I freaking love these sessions on KCRW! It's such a cool way to get a little behind the scenes vibe of the band.

IN CASE YOU MISSED EM...



Broken Bells stopped by KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic today and treated us to some very special moments.

Frontman James Mercer announced that in between tours with Broken Bells, He is working on tracks for his other band, The Shins, which has been on hiatus. He told host Jason Bentley that a studio is being set up now and that the next thing he'll probably release is a Shins record.

Also, the band debuted a version of "Insane Lullaby" from Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse's other project "Dark Night of the Soul." It's the first time Broken Bells has played the track live on the radio, though they have worked it into some of their live shows.

The successful collaboration continues for a 12th season in 2010, starting June 20.

KCRW’s World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, in its 12th year, will showcase an inspired line up of artists from around the globe on six Sundays, with headliners Baaba Maal (with special guests Playing for Change), The Swell Season, Goldfrapp, Jimmy Cliff, The Chemical Brothers, and Ozomatli.

Los Angeles-based public radio station KCRW 89.9 FM (and KCRW.com), along with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, present one of the most eclectic concert series in the country from this legendary hillside amphitheater every summer. FLYAWAY WITH THE NATIONAL

Los Angeles-based public radio station KCRW (89.9FM and KCRW.com) is thrilled to announce a special sweepstakes for a trip for two to New York City to see The National perform a special concert at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) on Saturday May 15 to benefit Red Hot AIDS charity. The concert is presented by Zync from American Express.

"The buzz on The National is palpable, and as an early candidate for one of the best albums of the year, this is an amazing opportunity to see the band perform to a hometown crowd in New York City. For a KCRW music fan, this getaway is a dream come true," said Jason Bentley, KCRW Music Director and host of Morning Becomes Eclectic.

The majority of KCRW’s funds come directly from member donations. Anyone who joins, renews or makes an additional donation to the non-profit station between Tuesday, May 4 and Friday May 7 at noon will be automatically entered to win. KCRW Star Members, who contribute on a monthly basis, are automatically entered as well.

The winner will fly to New York City on Friday, May 14 and have two nights at the ACE Hotel in Manhattan. Transportation to the hotel and concert will also be taken care of.

KCRW WELCOMES SHE & HIM



She & Him did a little live gig at Morning Becomes Eclectic. Unfortch, they don't have it up to watch, but you can listen. They also playes a SOLD OUT show last night in LA, promoting their new record, SHE AND HIM VOLUME 2.
