Cricut Cardz Got Cake?

Happy Wednesday all.  The challenge today at Cricut Cardz Challenge with Cardz TV is "You Take the Cake.  We needed to make a birthday card with a cake or cupcakes.  Here is what I came up with:

I used Sweet Treats, chose 2 cupcakes  and welded it all on my Gypsy girl.  The paper is all SU as is the pink ribbon in the background.  The picture is not the best, butthe flower on the mibble cupcake is cream colored, and the rest is all pink and brown.  I used Everyday Sentiments from Whimsical Designs for the stamp.

Pop over to Cardz TV, see what the DT has come up with and play along with us.  We'd love to have you!

A few little challenges for my card:
Party Time Tuesdays - anything goes
Ladybug Crafts - pink and girly
The Ribbon Girls - pink, brown and cream
Card Makin Mamas - happy birthday

A Peachy Valentine

If you are looking for Day 3 of my Hello Kitty Party Week, click HERE. Can you believe I have another post today? I have been such a good blogger lately! When I saw Peachy Keen's current challenge, I knew I had to play along. The challenge is to use a toilet paper roll - toilet paper roll albums are one of my favorite things to make! I gathered 4 toilet paper rolls from my stash (is it sad I have a stash of TP rolls?) and set out to make a Valentine's Day album for my husband. here is what I came up with:

All the hearts in this mini album are punches. The 2 smaller hearts are from Creative Memories, the larger from Stampin Up. The sentiment stamps are all from Whimsical Design's With Love set. The Peachy Keen faces throughout are from Happy Lashes, Boy Mates, wide Eyed Kids and Princess Faces.

This page is the one my daughter chose to be hers. So on one side, a cute little puppy, the other side, a pic of "the girl", as we lovingly refer to her... The heart's face is from my Princess faces.

The pup is from Create a Critter, and the face from my PK Critter faces. The sentiment, is again from Whimsical Designs. I was really impressed with how crisply they stamped!

The next page is for "the boy". The heart right above his picture has another Princess face. All the doodling, throughout the book, is done with my Sakura pens - LOVE them!!

The "XO" is from Smiley Cards cartridge, with faces from the Princess Faces and Boy Mates. The sentiment is another from Whimsical Designs

This last page is for me. I need to find a picture of him and I - I have one in mind, but I need to develop it. The heart has another Princess face one it. Love my PK faces :)

The cute little buggy is cut from Create a Critter, her cute little face is from Wide Eyed Kids and the stamps, from Whimsical Designs. All the paper on the TP rolls is from K and Co's Valentine stack from last year. That paper is beautiful! All the cardstock, came from my scrap boxes.

These are the tags that go in the slots created by the toilet paper rolls. The tags are cut from Sweet Treats. I decided to do a special thing for Mike. I asked the kids all the things they love best about him, and then wrote down what I love about him on three separate tags - kind of like little love letters to my honey. Each of those tags will slip into the roll with our pictures, and when Mike is upset, or down or mad at us, he can look at this little album, and the tags, and hopefully it will make him smile.

Flowers for Gloomy Day

I am on a ROLL! 3 days in a row, I am in my craft room, and 3 days in a row I post those cards to my blog! I am being such a good blogger :) Today I decided to make a card for Peachy Keen Challenge. I just love their adorable stamps, and I want to try to participate in this challenge at least every 2 weeks. It is one of my favorites! Today they challenged us to make a pocket! Huh? A pocket? I have spent the past few days contemplating how I would do this. I finally decided to make a flower pot card. I think they are so pretty, and I have never made one before. Here is what I came up with:

Isn't that ADORABLE! I was SO pleased how this turned out. I followed THIS tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. It was really easy! I used my Cricut to cut out the flowers. They were from the Sweet Treats and and Paisley cartridges. I used my Princess Faces and Wide Eyed Kids from Peachy keen to stamp their adorable faces. I then used my Sakura Jelly Roll pen to doodle up their little faces. I inked the edges of the flower part and also each of the flowers. I haven't quite decided what I am using this card for yet, I am thinking maybe a Mother's Day card? So i haven't stamped a sentiment on it yet.

A challenge or two:
Peachy Keen - pocket

New Homes and New Beginnings

Happy Friday everyone! Recently, we had friends who moved into their first home together. I wanted to give them a cute and useful house-warming gift. Her is what I came up with:

We started by buying them a couple of bottles of wine, and putting in some homemade jams and pickles that we made last summer. I then hit up the local Canadian Tire, bought a bucket and filled it up with some essential new home cleaning supplies. Cute eh? It needed a little crafty touch though, so I decided to make a little tag for it:

I cut the tag from Sweet Treats - I love all the tags on that cartridge! The house is from Create a Critter. I used a stamp set from Close to my Heart for the sentiment. It is super simple, but added the personal touch I was hoping for.

A few challenges that I am entering my little tag in:
Divas by Design - new beginnings
Bling it On - new beginnings
By the Cute and Girlie - new beginnings
Marianne's Design Divas - in with the new
Whimsie Doodles Monthly Challenge - new life event
Ooh La La Creations - new beginnings
Paper Playtime - tag and a sentiment
Lets's Ink it Up - anything goes (must use a rubber stamp)
That Craft Place - home sweet home
Craft Your Days Away - new beginnings

HERE IS MINE:

I decided to make a mini Canada Day album, and I am so happy with how it turned out!! The maple leafs are all cut from Create a Critter - my favorite cartridge, and so is the Beaver - isn't he cute?? All the words are cut with Robotz - my go to chunky font. The tags are all from Sweet Treats. Almost all the paper is from my scrap boxes. I am trying to use up what I have :) Most of the card stock is from Stampin Up or Close to My Heart. I have no idea who made the patterned paper, sorry - one of the problems with delving into my scrapbox. I used ribbon from Michaels, and my white and black gel pens to do the doodling. Holiday Baking Mini

Today is challenge day at Cricut Mini Albums. The theme this week was holiday baking. Thanksgiving was a month ago for us, so I focused on Christmas baking. Honestly, we don't do much other than cookies for Santa. Every year I set out with grand plans to bake, and they crash and burn, but I do have some favorite cookie recipies... Yummmm! This week I decided to make a toilet paper album. Each page has a tag tucked inside it. I followed THIS tutorial from Mary of CardzTV. Here is my little album"

The paper I used is all from a Chritmas stack from K & Company (I think...) I thought it was just adorable paper.

I topped each tag with black, and a ribbon. You can just see the edges of them, because they are tucked inside the toilet paper roll. Clever eh??

The side that has the patterned paper, will have some pictures on them. I have cute pics of the kids doing holiday baking from year to year.

I ran the toilet paper rolls through my Big Shot, to help flatten them. Then covered them with paper that was 6x4 (the width of my rolls).

The tags were cut at 4 inches from Sweet Treats. I will use them to put recipies on.

The rolls are held together with 2 eyelets at one end, for the rings to go through. The other end is left open for the tag.

I used lots of cartridges for this album. Sweet Treats for the tags, Cutting Up, From my Kitchen, Making the Grade, Sesame Street Font, for the words. Doodlecharms, Smiley Cards, Winter Frolic, Christmas Cheer and Mini Monsters for the little decorations on each page.

I think it turned out really cute! I may use it as a stocking stuffer for my mum. I think she'd really like it! Come back tomorrow for the winners of the blog hops!

Some challenges:
Bunny Zoe Crafts - christmas not a card
Easy Craft Projects - red
wee memories - use patterned paper
2 Sisters - christmas

Yummy!!

Another day, another challenge. I am so impressed with how much i have crafted this summer. Now if I could just get back to scrapbooking :) Here is today's card:

It is a bit hard to tell because of the dark background, but this is a shape card. It was hugely inspired by a card that Cristi made last week over at her blog Scrappin 5 Little Cupcakes. I decided to run the cupcakes sideways, rather than vertically, but other than that - pretty much the same...

This card was made with Sweet treats cartridge and my Gypsy to weld it all together and make the card. the paper is mainly StampinUp, and I used My Pink Stamper stamps for the sentiment. I blinged it up a bit with some stickles, and used a cuttlebug folder to Emboss the cupcake icing.

So, this card is being submitted for a couple of challenges:

The Pink Elephant - make something Yummy - what could be better than a good cupcake?

Cricut Cardz Challenge - make a birthday card for a teenager. A bit of a challenge to say the least. You don`t want it to be too kiddish, but still be fun. I hope this qualifies...

Ooh La La Creations - birthday challenge.

My Time to Craft - cake challenge.

Party Time Tuesday - Suumery birthday card - I used bright summery colors.

I will be back again tomorrow with another post - although I am working a 12 hour day tomorrow, so it might be later. I should try to figure out how to get something to post automatically for me. Hmmm... might be too technical :)

A little late...

So I always try to enter Emma's throwback challenges. I just got home from the cottage and knew there was a midnight deadline, so I rush and get the card done. Only to discover the deadline was last night. Oh well, here is my late submission.

The Cupcake was cut at 3.3" from Sweet Treats. the colored paper is mostly from SU, though I used some stuff from my stash. the patterned paper is from Basic Grey. The brown ribbon is I think from Walmart and the sentiment from Stampin Up. I used one of Momo's favorite techniques (Made by Momo), layering a scallop edge. I love this technique and think it looks really pretty :)

So I am entering this into 2 challenges:

a) Emma's Thursday throwback http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ - which is on hiatus till Aug 12th - I may go into witdrawl!! We were challenged to use the Celebration cartridge - or a birthday card if you don't have Celebration. I used Sweet Treats (no celebrations cart. for me yet) and made this "grown up" birthday card - using pretty non-traditional colors for me.

b) Cricut Cardz Challenge - Challenge #34 - where we were challenged to make a card with a cake, cupcake, cookies or candy.

Hope you like my happy birthday card. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, given that I am exhausted after 5 days away with the kids, and didn't have much time to come up with something. I have a cute idea on my Gypsy, that I hope to cut out tomorrow, so please come back and check it out.
