Die Cuttin Divas - Birthday

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to a brand new challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas!  Today's challenge is BIRTHDAY.  I can't wait to show you what I created.

Is there anything more fun than a shape card for a birthday??  This fancy cupcake is from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.  I created a shape card on my Gypsy girl and easy-peasy!  The sentiment is from one of My Pink Stampers first stamp sets.

Be sure to pop over to the Die Cuttin Divas blog, to see what my fellow Divas created, and please play along with us!  I can't wait to see what you created!

Whimsical Wednesday with Wings

Happy Wednesday all! I am feeling better, not great, but better - so hooray!! I am here today with my very first design team project for Whimsical Designs Whimsical Wednesday! Today's project is "Time Flies". We have to create any card or project and include something with wings, or a clock. I am not much of a "time" girl. I don't wear a watch, have very few clocks - but things with wings? Those I love! You may recall, last month, I made a little bag and tag for my son to give at a birthday party, if not the post is HERE. This time I decided to make a girl birthday bag and tag. Here is what I came up with:

The bag is cut from TBBM at 6.4 inches. This was the biggest I could lay it out on my Gypsy on a 12x12 mat. The Butterfly is from Once upon a Princess, cut at 2.5 inches. The bag itself is made out of SU paper, but the rest of the paper is from my scraps box.

Here you can see just the bag without the tag attached. You can also clearly see the beautiful stamp I used from Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments. Behind the butterfly, and on the tag, I used some pink twine. As you can see I did some doodling with my black Sakura Jelly Roll pen.

Here you can see the little tag I made to attach to the little bag. It is the shadow of the butterfly. The number 6 is from Birthday Bash. The little bling is from my stash - I have NO clue who made it.

The flip side of the tag. The sentiment is again from Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments. I hand wrote the "to" and "from". My one piece of advice? Punch the hole BEFORE writing on the tag. I foolishly didn't and ended up punching a hole right through the "to". I can be so silly :)

Please hop on over to Whimsical Designs, see what the rest of the team has created to inspire you, and play along with us! I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Thanks for visiting today!

Hello Kitty Party Week - Day 1

Welcome to Hello kitty Party Week - Day 1! As you know, my baby girl turned 6 last Thursday. On Saturday she had her very first "friend party". She decided on a Hello Kitty theme. My Cricut has been working overtime the past week or so, so I could get everything done. I made her invitations first, you can see that post HERE. The first project I am going to show you this week, is the banner I made for my girl. I apologize in advance for the photo quality, this wasn't the easiest thing to photograph :)

Here is a photo of the entire banner, a bit tricky to see... so I did closeups :)

I cut the banners from Birthday Bash. I have never used the banner feature before. It is awesome! I have never had a banner come together so easily. i will be using this again, and soon!

I decided to use the font from Once Upon a Princess. I have always thought this font was really pretty, but because it only has uppercase letters, I haven't used it often. this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I also found some awesome pink glitter paper - pricy? yes. worth it? YES!

Here is the first of the Hello Kitty images on her banner. This one is so cute! I used her on a lot of the party favors.

Here is the second Hello Kitty I used. The heart kitty - for the little girl I love! Gabrielle loved her banner. we are going to keep it in her room - per her request, once she decides she wants to take it out of the dining room!

Here are my babies after her party. She is in her new Hello Kitty shirt, which she loves... if you look closely, you will see in the background, a sneak peek of one of the other project's I'll be showing you. please join me tomorrow for day 2!

Shall We Dance?

Good morning everyone! I finally got back in my craft room, it only took 10 days of feeling icky :( But, I am almost feeling back to normal, and Flaunt It Friday seemed the perfect challenge to dive back in! Todays challenge is to use a cut from Twinkle Toes. As much as I wish I had this cartridge, I don't. So i did some hunting around, and chose a different dancing girl. Here is what I came up with:

I have been missing scrapbooking alot. I used to get such pleasure out of it, and have decided it is time I get back into it. I'm not sure I could have made a simpler page, but I am happy with it.

All of the cuts are from Once Upon a Princess. I forgot there was a ballerina on that cartridge - I always want the new cartridges, and am disappointed when I can't afford them all. I want to try and explore more on the cartridges I have, because they have so many treasures on them that I have yet to discover.

All the paper is from an old stack I bought when Michaels first opened in our city nearly 4 years ago. I am embarassed to say that I have barely used them.

Aren't these little ballet girls the cutest? I used my Peachy Keen Princess faces on them, and did some doodling with my Gel pen, and gave them some blush to make them look adorable!

Simple as this page is, I am really excited to add some pictures of my daughter to it. I have some sweet ones of her at a ballet class when she was three, wearing a tutu and pink and black leotards sitting in a folder on my computer - I am going to print them this week and finish up this layout.

So hop on over to Flaunt It Fridays, see what the design team came up with, and play along with us:)

Some Challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - real or faux stitching
Craft Your Passion - girly
Ooh La La Creations - pink, pink and more pink

Snow Fun!

It is challenge day over at Cooking with Cricut . Today's challenege is snow fun - snow men, snow balls, snow sports anything snow related! Here in the Maritimes we haven't had much snow, which makes me very happy. Winter is not my favorite season. Halifax is hosting the Canada Games next month, and they have built an outdoor skating oval. It was just opened to the public for free skates. We are hoping to take the kids this weekend. Skating is so fun and one of the few winter sports I like. So I came up with this card:

I cut the skater from Winter Frolic, the "tag" she is sitting on is from Once Upon a Princess, manipulated on my Gypsy to be the right size. The stamp is from My Favorite Things's Pure Innocence line. the paper is all Stampin Up.

I hope you all head over to Cooking with Cricut and show us your favorite winter fun :) Have a fabulous day, come on back on Friday for the Hello Kitty Blog Hop, and maybe some blog candy :)

Some challenges:
Fab'n'Funky - anything goes
Totally Gorjuss - for someone special
One Stitch at a Time - anything goes

My News and 30 Days of Creativity Day 2

I have a new card for today, but first, my exciting news. I have been invited to participate in my first blog hop!! Yay! It is hosted by Ruthie over at September Ninth and her "scrappin bestie" The Scrapbooking Queen. I am SO excited, and have already made one project for it. It is a Fall Blog Hop, and I am sure there will lots of amazing inspiration and some blog candy along the way, so I hope you all come to our hop on September 18th!

Now, on to today's crafty creation. I decided to do another easel card, I do love those :) Easy, yet so pretty. Here it is:

The butterfly and flower are both from Once Upon a Princess - love that cartridge! I also used the spots and dots Cuttlebug folder that I picked up today at my LSS - my DH would be so proud, I only spent $10 - we won't mention that I am thinking about going to Michael's tomorrow and picking up 3 new cartridges once they go on sale ;) The stamp is from My Pink Stamper, and the glittery brads are from Close to my Heart, I love the bling they bring to the card. I felt like this card needed some bling, but I tend to go overboard with the stickles - these dazzling brads were just the right touch. The pictures don't do them justice. The paper is a mix of Stampin Up and stuff from Walmart. I just love how this card turned out! Now I just have to pick someone to send it to - I do have someone in mind...

Challenges I am submitting this card for:
A Crafty Little Place - sketch
Craft Your Days Away - girly and glittery
One Stitch at a Time - blooms, butterfly and bling
Pear Tree Designs - animals(hopefully butterflies count...)
S2G - critter with spots and dots
Flutter By Wednesdays - pink with angel, fairy or butterfly
Fab 'n' Funky - anything goes, and they are having a DT call, so I figured I would throw my hat in the ring :)
Paper Pretties - brads or eyelets
Stampalicious - paper flowers

Fairy princess

This card was partly designed by my 4 year old. She gave me color suggestions, purple is her favorite color, followed closely by pink and chose the fairy. She loves Once Upon a Princess and often asks me to cut things from it. This is the card I came up with, following her guidelines:

The fairy and flowers are from Once Upon a Princess, the stamp is from MFT's Pure Innocence line, and the paper is all StampinUp. Sorry about the picture quality, I was having issues with light when I took it. The dress, hat and wings are all purple, and they look sort of blue/grey in this pic.

Challenges I am submitting this card for:
Pixie Dust - stitching
Flutterby Wednesday - anything goes
CES Challenges - anything goes
Craft Your Days Away - with wings
Magical Monday - flowers
Aly's Sunday Challenge - pretty in pink
Mark's Finest Paper - friendship card
One Stitch at a Time - girl card and color scheme

Hope you all have a great day, I'll be back with another card in the next day or two.

Another late one!!

So my sense of time has been a mess since I went to the cottage. It is so easy to lose track of the days when you have no deadlines, work to go to, or appointments to keep! I had always planned to join an Under the Sea challenge over on Lauren's blog 40:31 Creations I have no idea when I thought the deadline was, but I missed it. Fortunately for people like me, she extended it by a day, till tonight! Yay me! Here is the card I designed while I was at the cottage - gotta love the Gypsy :)

This little mermaid was designed with Once Upon a Princess. The shell, which I welded on my Gypsy, is from Create a Critter. It is one of the Accessories on that cartridge. The paper is a mix of SU and stuff from my scrap boxes. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper... love her stamps.

I had so much fun creating this little card, and I am really happy that Lauren extended her first challenge for time deficient people like me :) I can't wait to participate in another one!

Web surfing

I had so much fun doing the challenges in the past few weeks, I decided to try to find some more. Thinking outside the box is a very good thing, especially for me. I tend to get stuck in ruts. I found this great website called the Daily Dare -http://dailydare4u.blogspot.com/ It posts lots of challenges every day, and I found a few that were a nice combo of inside and outside the box :)

So the paper here is all SU. The brown ribbon, I bought at Walmart. The stamp is a House Mouse stamp - and I love it, I think it's so cute! The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper. The mat the stamp is on is from Once Upon a Princess. I manipulated the shape on my Gypsy to make it the right size. I used my Prismacolor Pencils for the first time ever on this card - so this was WAY outside my box. I am pleased with the overall look of the card, and it wasn't too hard to do.

So the challenges I am entering this into are all firsts for me. I am excited to be doing new challneges!

a)Paper playtime - http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ Their challenge this week is "Flower Power" and my cute little mouse is on a Lilac.

b) House Mouse Challenges - http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/ their challnge this week was the letter B. Anything goes, as long as you can somehow tie it in to "B". I figured my lilac were "Blossoms" - that counts, right?

c) The Pink Elephant - http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/ Their challenge this week, was a color challenge. Brown. The base of the card is SU Chocolate Chip and there is a brown ribbon.

Hope you like my cute little card. I hope to make one more card tomorrow, but am leaving on wednesday for a few days at the cottage with the kids. Hopefully the weather will be good.

Sqeezed in another!

So I managed to squeeze in another challenge before going to bed. I am entering this in a couple of challenges:
a) Paper Cutz Challenges. Their challenge for this week was to do a western theme. Now as a girl from Nova Scotia, this was slightly outside the box for me, I have never been west of Ontario.

b) Raising the Bar: Challenge #27. They were doing a "wedding challenge" this week. Something old: The bandana paper I have held onto for 8 years in my stash, Something new: My Once Upon a Princess cartridge that I used to create the card, Something Borrowed/ recycled: I used some paper from my scrap stash and Something blue: - all the blue paper - in her skirt, and the card base.

c) If the Shoe Fits... Is having a vacation theme this week. Now I have never vacationed in the west, but a friend of mine just got back from the Calgary stampede and had so much fun! It is now on my wish list of some day vacations.

So here is what i came up with...

So this cute little lady was made on my Gypsy using Once Upon a Princess for the Cow Girl - Cut at 4 1/2. George and Basic shapes for the rectangle of the card, and Robotz for the font - cut at .9" which I welded to the rectangle.

The paper is mostly SU, except the blue for her skirt and hat and the brown of teh boots which are from my scrap box, so who knows. The bandana paper is old Creative Memories from many moons ago. I held onto it for some reason in my stash.

I was really pleased with how this card turned out! I think she is super cute! I love OUAP, but haven't used it much. I hope this is the start of a new trend for me, using that cute cartridge. Hope you like it!

Birthday Card

I made this sweet little card for my mum's birthday. I had not really used Once Upon a Princess, but I love it, and wanted to try something from it. I welded the Birthday on the side, just like Emma from My Creative Time showed me in one of her great blog posts.

I was really excited how easy it was! I thought it was going to be a really difficult thing to create, but in the end, it wasn't. I love this sweet princess. On the inside, I created the sentiment "Queen for a day" on my computer. My mum loved it!

I start 2 weeks vacation on Friday and am hoping to get some crafting done. There are so many challnges I want to take part in!

2 cards...

So, as you know, I made 4 sets of cards for people at Andrew's school - teacher, vice-principal etc. I showed the box I made (with help from Momo) a couple of days ago. Today I am showing 2 of the 5 cards I put in the set.

Both of the main pictures are from create a critter. The wormy was heavily inspired by a really cute card Robyn (My Pink Stamper) made a few months ago. The pink poodle card was inspired by Emma (from Creative Time with Emma). She used the same shape under to poodle for one of her cards a while back. The shape is from Once Upon a Princess, and the shape was manipulated with my Gypsy. Andrew is in French Immersion, so I figured "merci" was an appropriate sentiment :) All the card stock is stampin up and the little pearls are Close to my Heart. I think they are super cute!
Today is my 13th wedding anniversary, so DH and I are getting pizza from our favorite spot, and enjoying a quiet evening, well once we get the kids in bed at least. Right now I am watching Beauty and the Beast with my 4 year old. Romance is alive and well ;)
Tomorrow I will post two more of the cards from the set.
