Nate and I met in October of 2001. I had recently run the St. George marathon and Nate had been off his mission just about 6 months. He proposed in May of 2002 and we were married in June of that year. We worked and attended school and knew we wanted to be married for at least a year before having kids.
Maesyn was born June 13, 2004. I would say that is the day our family began. Here is what I wrote in our Journal about 2 years later.
The night before Maesyn was born we went ot a reception. I must of had 50 meatballs and shrimp. She was not due for another week and I decided I would go to the gym twice a day the next week to see ifI could encourage her to come a few day searly. Maesyn's Grandma Anderson was staying at our house.
At around 3 am I started having contractions. I thought it might have been the meatballs- so I did not wake anybody up-instead I took a bath and counted the contractions- they were pretty consistent and by 5ish I decided to let nate know- we called the hospital- were out by 6ish and Maes was born a few hours later around 11 in Banner Baywood Hosptial. Her dr that deliverd her was Dr. Terry Huff. Her peditrician is dr. Michelle Allen (then Dewolf).
It was crazy that first night having her hoe (we spent her first night in teh hospitla- daddy studdied for Phsysics with a friend in the Hospical and we had lots of visitors). I was so used to having her in my belly- but there she was- a real person- and we had to take care of her- it was exciting and scary at the same time- we lover her so much.
