Thursday morning

I woke up to a cold and foggy morning on Thursday and I didn't let the moment slip by without taking photos. It was beautiful and mysterious.

Hot day

It is just the first month of our summer and we are already experiencing very warm days. Like yesterday it was very hot and humid that all the leaves of my fern tree are looking sad and in a few days the leaves will turn to brown and died. This is not the first time it happen since the start of our summer this year . There were days already  that temperature soared up to 40 degrees.  The prediction for our summer this year will be hot and dry as the El Nino phenomenon gets a grip in the central and eastern Pacific.

Yesterday

It was our first day of December, the first month of our summer and as predicted the temperature soared as high as nearly 40 degrees C. It was so hot  and very humid even if we are just entering our summer season. I wonder how the coming weather in the next couple of months like. With weather like this , I am always think of going to the beach but yesterday we didn't get a chance because the kids had a dentist appointment in the afternoon. I did my grocery shopping late in the morning and can't believe that the mall was already jam pack with peole  to beat the heat. But glad the weather today is far better than yesterday for it is cooler and overcast. I can do a little work in my garden for it has been neglected for weeks now.

Last Wednesday

I love taking photos when the morning is like this. We had a misty morning last Wednesday. It was a magical part of the day.

"I don't ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful"

Soggy weekend

"Rain is grace; rain is the sky condescending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life." - John Updike

It was raining since yesterday morning and until today. I was planning  to take my son to the city today but unfortunately we can't make it. It is too wet to go out. The weather forecast tomorrow is shower clearing which gives me hope that we can make it this coming long weekend.

Today

I plan to take the kids to the city today but the weather is not cooperating with our plan. The day has been drizzly and dreary with no sign of blue sky. I just told the kids to postpone our plan sometime this week. I hope the weather will be ok by then. I know they are a bit disappointed about it and have no option but to wait when the right weather comes. I will just take them to watch a movie instead or visit a friend later in the day.

Today

While I was having a nap, the sound of the loud thunder woke me up. I groggily looked outside through the glass window, and I could see the sky was covered with thick dark clouds. Then suddenly rain was pelting down and I realised I have some clothes hanging out on the clothes line and the guinea pigs were still outside too. We put the guinea pigs outside so they can graze grass while I was cleaning their hutch but I didn't put them back to the hutch after I finished cleaning it. I called Dorothy to help me and she hurriedly went outside to get the guinea pigs who were already scared to death, while I took down the clothes from the clothes line which were already a bit wet. Then we noticed that it was hailing the size of small marbles which stopped after a few minutes but kept raining hard. Now, the rain has finally stopped but it's quite cold.

Cancelled due to wet weather

Got a text message yesterday morning from Dorothy's head coach that Dorothy's tennis lesson was washed out due to heavy rains. We had lots of rain in the past few days until Saturday morning. We just saw the blue sky yesterday afternoon after a heavy rainfall in the morning. Weather is so unpredictable that can change at any moment, rain this time and the next minute is sunny. Well, anyway, a make up day for the tennis lesson is scheduled and a registration is required in the tennis website. I haven't done it yet maybe sometime this week.

Sunset

Despite the rain we had today, I was still able to see a beautiful sunset. At first, I saw the sky was completely covered with dark clouds so I didn't bother to wait for the sunset any more and besides, it was still raining and soaking wet. However, when I went outside at about 6:55 pm to take our rubbish into the big rubbish bin, I saw the western sky was fiery red. So, I hurriedly went back inside to grab my pocket size camera and an umbrella on the other hand and went across the road to get a better view of the sunset.

Last Sunday

It was again another foggy and freezing morning. And when I went out at about 9:30 am to our backyard to hang clothes in the clothesline , the fog lifted a bit and I captured a few photos of the sun tried to break through a blanket of fog.

This morning...

This was the scene that greeted me when I woke up this morning. It was freezing cold but it didn't stop me to go out and took a few photos. This is how our street looked like when we went out going to the petrol station to get petrol for our trip to the Blue Mountains.

Last Friday

This was the scene that greeted us when we woke up in the morning. Because I was busy preparing the kids for school, I didn't pay much attention to it. But when me and David arrived at the school car park, it was still foggy and thought to grab the opportunity to capture some shots. I brought my pocket size camera with me because David's class had a presentation during the Friday assembly and I wanted to capture moments of it. It was between 8:33-8:38 am when these photos were captured. The footpath going to the playground.
And the school playground.
