Wang Wang
Whoa, CNY eve already. So fast! Once again I feel like I'm not prepared/ready for it cos we've all been too busy to give it much thought or get into the mood by anticipating it.
Is it just my mum, or are all mums extra stressed on the days leading up to Chinese New Year? This morning, my mum was accusing the whole house of eating the pineapple tarts (apparently there's only half a tin left now.). Of course, I was on the suspect list. Just now, I kindly informed her that I didn't even know that we had pineapple tarts on display. Can't blame her, she has to do all the spring cleaning and decorating and it's not as if I've lifted a finger to help (other than cleaning my own room.).
Now, my room is bathed in sunlight, there's a nice breeze blowing, but there are still some hiccups here and there that signal that all is not too rosy as yet. My dad was doing the Spanish Inquisition on Kenneth for sleeping in till so late (serves him right for coming home at midnight last night and worrying the hell out of my mum. WHEN will he learn?!). My mum keeps buzzing around, snapping at everyone, complaining about how busy she is and how free the rest of us are.
But I know that by tomorrow, everything should be fine. My mum will be all bright and cheery again (cos she's always like this. Before CNY, before weddings, she'll be buzzing around being super stressed and stressing everyone else out. But after that, she'll be the happiest housewife on the planet.). Hopefully, my brothers will behave themselves and not make anyone in the family angry. And me? I shall just focus on not saying anything wrong and keeping everyone's spirits high.
Yawn. I shall enjoy a leisurely CNY eve today. Tried to finish all my work (or as much of it as I can, anyway) yesterday so that I'll be able to slack my day away today. =)
Happy CNY, everyone!
Yes! I feel a tingle of excitement already... ;p
