Thank you, Ewing and Muriel Kauffman
Thank you, Ewing. Thank you, Muriel. Thank you so much. We'll never forget.
We'll never forget you. We're forever grateful.
Former Kansas City Royals owner Ewing Kauffman and his wife, Muriel, before the start of a 1985, October World Series game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals at Royals Stadium.

In Which We Give David Glass His Due
A few years ago, when the Kansas City Royals were continually losing at baseball and the owner, David Glass, was spending very little on the team and being ranked one of the 3 worst Major League Baseball owners, I and a lot of others spoke ill of Mr. Glass and his ownership and managerial skills.
That was then.
Since that time, Mr. Glass has begun spending more on the the team and putting the right people in place to make things happen, in positive ways, for those same Royals, our own Kansas City Royals.
So here we are, the 2nd time the team is in the playoffs for the World Series--and won. So Tuesday, as the entire city and state and region and heck, the nation, knows, the Kansas City Royals are World Series bound.
So here's to you, Mr. Glass. We disparaged both your spending and managerial work. It's only fitting that we now, when they're winning, honestly praise him for getting the team where they are now.
Kudos to you, Mr. Glass.
And thank you.
Now, please keep it going, long as possible.

Kansas City Royals 2015 Postseason Video
"People will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."
I would have left out the part where he said "People will just hand over their money without even thinking about it."
That was tacky. Extremely tacky. Otherwise....
Go Royals!
Go Royals!

Big, fun crazy times with and for the Royals and Kansas City
Kansas City and our Royals, going to the World Series. Meantime, Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis on site, Eric Stonestreet on set of Modern Family.
KC, hitting the big time in a few ways.
From the Star:
Then there was this very cool story:
and this from 2 years ago::
Eric Stonestreet, Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm, Jason Sudeikis and Rob Riggle. The four actors sang "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during an interleague game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 22, 2012.
So congratulations, Kansas City, many congratulations. Enjoy. These are the good old days, for sure.

Go KC!
The Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals and Kansas City, really, getting some kudos and attention, what with handling the Patriots tonight and the Royals in the playoffs.
Go KC!
(Suck on that, Tony).

Fun idea?
I just saw these on an architect friend's Facebook page today. He's into design, rather naturally.
Wouldn't it be great if we organized a great number of people across the metropolitan area, at least, to buy one of these and then pitch them around our new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts one night?
I'm thinking maybe for some fundraiser or something.
I'd photograph it like crazy.
Thanks, Sven.

The Kauffman
A friend of mine put this picture up on his Facebook page of the Kauffman. I haven't verified but I think he took it with his cell phone, maybe last evening.
I just liked it too much and wanted to share it. I think it pretty outstanding. (Kudos, Barry).
We're so fortunate to have the Kauffman Center.

Yahoo! on the Royals!!!
Finally, someone publicly and in a big way has said what I said months ago about our Kansas City Royals! (and I hate exclamation points).
That is, David Glass, as owner of the Kansas City Royals, should go. If it happens, it won't happen easily or quickly but Mr. Glass--I'll say it again, here, now--just wants to suck profits, money, out of the team and doesn't care about winning, doesn't care about getting in the penant race and absolutely doesn't care about getting in the World Series.
From The Kansas City Star, rather famously (or infamously, now, if you're David Glass), yesterday, attorney Joe Accurso and his friends got together and took out an ad in the paper, calling for David Glass to either go for a win in Major League Baseball or sell the team--to another, local, Kansas City owner.
Good for them. Good for us.
Maybe, maybe, we can finally have a bigger, broader conversation about this.
Maybe we can either get a team that's sincerely interested in getting in a winning column for the Royals and then a penant race and, one day, hopefully very soon, into the World Series, at least.
Thank you, Joe Accurso, your friends and all.
Let the conversation begin.
And please, Mr. Glass, don't go away mad.
Either give us a true, winning team or just go away.
