BBTB2 - Happy Mother's Day

Happy May!

Well, this will be my last post for a while,

for the summer while we await our new house
to be built.
We should be in by September and I will resume
my crafting - HORRAY!!!

Anyway, over at BBTB2 our challenge is to
help you prepare for Mother's Day this Sunday.

Create a card or project featuring flowers in a bouquet or vase.

I used Walk In My Garden for the vase and flowers.
The b/g paper comes from SEI.
All the other papers are from my stash.

The sentiment is from CardzTV.

Hope you all have a fabulous summer!

BBTB2 - Celebrate Friendship

Happy Monday!

Hope you are ready for another week!

This week we have a challenge over at BBTB2
all about Celebrating Friendship!

I don't know about you,
but my life is SO MUCH better
with the friends I have around me :)

I decided to make a Friendship Thank You card.
I used Walk In My Garden for my card.

There is a Card Special Feature on this cart,
and it cuts out a mat along with a flower layer.

My card is 5x5 and the mat is 4 1/4.
I used paper from American Crafts and a glitter dot
for the center of the flower.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I hope you will join us this week over at BBTB2!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

My Project:
So how many of you have known about the Tag feature
on Walk In My Garden and not told me about it?!?!

I LOVE this feature!!!
There are such CUTE tags on the cartridge!
And in fact, once I made this tag, I thought it
would make a fabulous bookmark, too!

So, our amazing leader, Evelyn suggested when you
give a book as a present, you use this as both the
tag and the bookmark - LOVE it!!!

Anyway, my papers come from My Mind's Eye "Reunion",
and the stamp is from Paper Smooches "Flap Happy".
The twine is from Trendy Twine.

I hope that you will join us for this fun challenge!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

I LOVE this stamp from Tara's new stamp set
Lil Bit Buggie!
And naturally I pulled out the Walk In My Garden
cartridge for this sentiment.

I cut the flower at 2" with a shadow
and the bee at 2 1/2" with a shadow.
I used some yellow glitter paper for the wings and
added a Glitter Dot from Recollections to the flower.
I popped both of them up on some foam tape.

The hexagon comes from Accent Essentials.

My papers were mostly from my scrap stash,
except for the b/g paper.
It came from Ki's "Growing Garden"
6x6 pack I found at Wal-Mart.
Super cute paper pad!!!

The white ribbon comes from American Crafts.
I trimmed the corners off of the sentiment mat and
used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink for the stamp.

Now...

HIMCR Challenge #124
Die Cuts!!

Prize:
Robot Party and Space Party
Cricut Cartridges

My Project:

Here is another sympathy card that I needed to make for my husband's co-worker who lost his dad.  Such sad occasions, definitely not "fun" cards to make, but I do enjoy trying to create something that might bring some comfort.  I used Walk In My Garden for the flowers/vase and Elegant Edges for the mat.  My paper comes from a ColorBok (Wal-Mart) designer paper pack.  I used The Paper Studio's Curl Ribbon folder for the embossing on the vase and popped up the mat with some foam tape, as well as the flowers/vase for some extra dimension.  I hope that you will join our challenge this week at HIMCR, all you have to do is include a die cut on your project! Thanks for checkin' in!

Get Well Soon

I am so glad there were some challenges this week to help me put together a Get Well Soon card. I didn't have any in my inventory, so YAY! for being prepared when someone I know is sick! I followed the Mojo Monday sketch for the week and chose the scallop circle card, haven't done one in a while. Then over at CardzTV there is a fun color challenge of black, white, and a POP of yellow. I am also entering this into My Craft Spot (Get Well Soon), Exploring Cricut (use at least two cuts) and Use It Tuesday (trends).  I used Birthday Bash for the scallop circle card and the two base mats, George for my ovals, and Walk In My Garden for the Iris's. When I first heard of the trend "Washi Tape", I had no idea what it was, but I had to have it, so I went out and found some black and white tape about a year ago. This is the second time I have used it, so I wasn't so good at actually following/using the trend. But you can see the Washi tape behind my oval mat. I also used some flat back pearls from Michaels to finish off the card. I'm pleased with how this turned out and have a video for you to watch how it all came together.

Oh, Happy Day!

Cricut, Walk In My Garden, LadyBug, Happy Day, Swiss Dots

I am so excited to finally be entering a PKS Challenge! I am LOVING my PKS's and am having so much fun using them on my cards.  This week they have a sketch challenge which I used to create this fun ladybug card.  I am also entering this card in CardzTV "Seeing Red" challenge, Cut It Up's challenge of "What's Bugging You", and My Craft Spot's challenge of "Clean and Simple".  My card base is black, with a red base mat.  I used Swiss Dots to emboss my white mat, Walk in My Garden for the ladybug and leaves, and my red flower mat comes from DCWV Green Stack.  The PKS face comes from the Everyday Character set and I used some silvery glitter ink (I don't have white...yet).  I finished the card off with some black and white twine from We R Memory Keepers.  My sentiment comes from CardzTV "Happy Days" stamp set and I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I think this is a simple and cute card, I really like how it turned out.  Thanks for checking it out!

Decorate to Celebrate Guest Designer!!! "FOR THE GIRLS"

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate's "FOR THE GIRLS" challenge.  This time of year is pretty crazy for my family; we have our Anniversary, my Birthday, and Mother's Day all within 2 weeks of each other, and now we have my baby girl's birthday to throw in the mix.  When I was trying to figure out what to do for this challenge I came across this amazing paper at JoAnn's, and everything just came together.  I knew this paper would be perfect to center around my sweet baby Josie Jane.  This is the banner I created for her and her 1st Birthday party.

I used Kate's ABC's Baby Girl Font cut at size 8".  The butterflies are also from Kate's ABC's, I cut them and their shadow at 5".  As far as the paper goes, it is by "me & my BiG ideas", but it doesn't have a name just a bar code (7380793379 CC-01).

The flowers are cut from Sweet Treats, I cut two at 4" and two at 3". The leaves are cut from Walk in My Garden.  I cut 4 at 1 1/2" and 4 at 2".  I used foam tape to pop everything up to give it more dimension and I strung it on pink and yellow ribbon.  I made bows from the same ribbon and added them in between each letter using glue dots.

I love this paper so much that I had to use it for my party favors and invitations too!  The treat boxes are cut from Sweet Treats. I used the Party Favors funtion key for Flower1 and cut them at 2 3/4". I used the blackout feature (same size) to cut the patterned paper flower for both sides of the box. I filled the cello bags with fun treats and tied them with ribbon.

My invitations are a two sided 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" postcard based off of the banner.  The front side is pictured, the back side just has the party info on it so I didn't take a pic of it.  I used the same cuts as the banner, just scaled them down, but I forgot to make note of the sizes - sorry!

Here is the dimensional view.  I used foam tape to pop everything up, and just folded the butterfly wings for a 3D look.

I sure hope you are able to play along with Decorate to Celebrate's challenge.  I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.  Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog!!!

Bee Happy!

Here is a card I created for three fun challenges.  Craft With Cutters "Things with Wings", Little Scrap Pieces "Think Spring", and  Docerela Creations "Friendship".  I think this little card fits all of those themes.  I would like to send this to a friend who is feeling a little down.  It's bright and springy and would hopefully put a smile on her face.  This is the first time I have entered the CWC's and Docerela's challenge.  I LOVE finding new challenges!  I used Walk in My Garden for the bees, beehive, and the sentiment (I had to cut out "be" twice and steal the second "e" because the cart cut is just "be happy").  I popped up the images on some dimensionals, and used glue dots for the Recollection flowers.  I do like the color combo on this card and the layout is a bit different for me, but it works :)

Spring is Here! (Well, not quite)

I sure wish Spring was here!  We are getting so stir crazy staying inside day after day, and this Spring will be a huge milestone for our little family.  My husband will begin the Maintenance phase of his Cancer Protocol and will be able to re-enter society come May.  It has been a long road, and we are so anxious for warmer weather.  Anyway, I was excited to work on something other than Valentine's for a bit, and the Spring challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2 allowed me to do that.  I also used this card for the Paper Playtime challenge of "Border Punches".  I was excited to use the Walk in My Garden cartridge (I got it for Christmas) and this wheelbarrow is a fun cut.  The border was made using the Spellbinders Edgeabilities, which I love so much more than actual border punches.  I mixed and matched the Classic Scallop with the Classic Ric Rac.  This card was very refreshing to make!
