BBTB2 - Birdcage

Happy Monday!

Another start of another week :)

Hope you are all well and adjusting to Daylight Savings!

Bitten by the Bug 2

Today over at BBTB2 we have a new
challenge starting. We want to see you use
a birdcage on your projects.

I decided to use the Songbird cartridge for this challenge.
I don't use this cart that often, but found this cut under the
Perch Creative Feature and thought it would work well.

I cut it at 4" out of some shimmery gold cardstock.
My pattern papers are from American Crafts.
I did use Elegant Edges for my mat.
The Pearls are from Recollections.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge over at BBTB2!!!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

With Sympathy

Cricut, Songbird Cartridge, We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy, With Sympathy Card

Unfortunately we all have to make cards for certain occasions that are more solemn than birthdays or thank yous.  My mom asked me to make a card for a co-worker that recently lost his dad.  I did take this opportunity to use a couple challenges that I could incorporate into a nice sympathy card.  My Craft Spot issued "Sew Fun" this week and Die Cuttin' Divas issued "Twice is Nice".  I pulled out my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool and gave that another whirl - jury is still out on how I feel about this crafting tool, but this time it seemed easier than the attemps before.  I used Songbird for the birds on the outside and inside.  The layout is from Mojo Monday and I really like how the card came together.

FCCB Challenge #162 Memorial Day

Another fabulous challenge has begun over at FCCB.  This week we are celebrating Memorial Day, so head on over and link up your project.  My card is probably off the mark a little with the traditional Memorial Day cards, but it fits perfectly with how I view Memorial Day.  For as long as I can remember, my dad's side of the family would gather together at our ancestors' gravesites at our local cemetaries and talk about family history.  This card is representative of those memories.  I also firmly believe that families are forever and that there is life beyond our journey here on this earth.  I know I will see my grandparents and ancestors again.  Anyway, I just love all the flowers that adorn the graves and how beautiful the cemetaries are on Memorial Day, so this is the card I came up with.  I used "Just Because" Cards for the mats, tree, and stencil saying.  I used SongBird for the flowers and blinged them up with some rhinestones.  Hope you join us this week and I can't wait to see your projects!
