January Paper Posies projects

Here are some cards and a mini album that I put together with the January Paper Posies kit. The red, blue, and silver were a perfect combo for starting the new year.

We haven't had any snow yet, so I'm looking forward to that and adding photos to this mini. The Elle's Studio tags in the kit worked perfectly for each page.

Thanks for checking in today. Enjoy your Wednesday :)

Scarlet Lime December Projects

Earlier in the month, I posted on the Scarlet Lime blog what I was looking forward to in 2012. I mentioned wanting to simplify our life and be better at recording our REAL stories.
I used the Scarlet Lime December Frugal FAB to create this album, ready for photos and stories that I want to tell.
The front and back covers have pockets. I added in the Pink Paislee acrylic cards between the pages.
Using some of the patterned papers, I made insert pages for extra photo space. Adding the color rub-ons to the side of the Glitz pages gives them a little more life and color.
I also added in the Pink Paislee rub-on packaging insert (with the yellow border) for an extra page.

The tag strips on the bottom of the patterned papers were a perfect way to finish off some of the extra pages. And the house rub-ons fit in the framed areas almost too well.
I added another pocket to this Glitz page.
I tried to be sure there was space for photos and lots of writing. This book is more for me and the special stories I want to tell in 2012.
The back cover and facing page--another pocket and the colored rub-ons on the Glitz page.
I actually had a different title in mind for the book, but then I liked how the letters spelling out my name looked . . . so I went with that :)

With the Cosmo Cricket papers in the main December kit, I put together these two Christmas cards.
Pretty simple and flat . . . something I'm hoping to do more of this year. I always need a card but they are too dimensional to mail. So, I need to have more flat ones in my stash.

I added SRM sentiment stickers.

Still struggling with computer issues. Tonight it has given me five minutes to get this post up. Crazy how much we depend upon these things. Off to try to get two more pressing items done before it crashes on me again.

Two more days . . . my kids are SO excited!!

November 21st--Snow . . . and a Thankful Mini update

Today I am thankful for snow. We did not get a lot but just seeing it fall brought so much joy and glee to my kids this morning.

At the beginning of the month, I mentioned I was putting together a mini album with my Thankful blog posts for this month. This mini is made with the Scarlet Lime November Frugal FAB kit (plus kraft cardstock, some stitching, and binding). Here is how things are going:

Front cover. The album is 4x6.

Process: print out journaling from blog posts and photos every 3-4 days. Cut and put into album.
Some days have a couple of photos and journaling strips.

Some days have one photo, or no photo, and journaling blocks.

I stitched around all of the pages to give them extra stability.

So far, I've been able to keep up to date on this. I kept it fairly simple, otherwise I would not finish it.

Thanks for visiting today. I'd love to hear what you are thankful for today :)

November Fourth--Miranda

Today I'm thankful for Miranda. She is the most amazing 12-year-old I know. She is responsible and she is humble.

I felt horrible this morning when I dropped her off at school. As she was walking into the school, I noticed her pants are about 2 inches too short. I hope hope hope hope no one says anything to her about it. Last week I bought her two new pairs of pants. She has grown 4 inches in the past year. She does her own laundry so I didn't even think to pull the short pair out this week. Oh, she is such a sweetheart. She doesn't ask for new things very often, usually only when she really needs something.

She is becoming quite the preferred babysitter in the neighborhood. She has jobs the next three weekends, plus a new gig that is for every T/Th after school. And a pet-sitting job for two weeks. We may have to get her a cell phone for Christmas.

Love this girl!

On to some projects . . . in the September Hip 2-b Square add-on kit there was a mini-album. It had 8 pages, but I broke it down to make two 4-page albums. The girls each have a mini-album for their elementary school "first day of school" photos. I made these two for Krish and Bird, using the same page ideas for both:

And Bird's:

(Not sure what happened to Bird's 4th and 5th grade pages, but they look like Krish's. They are just a little different with the chipboard pieces).

We  have a busy day--piano lessons this afternoon, James & Esme for dinner (thanks, mom, for the pot roast help), and family movie night.

So glad it's Friday :)
What are you thankful for today?

Polka Dot Whimsy . . . a few more :)

The PDW February Add-on was full of goodness!
I put together a layout and a mini-album.

Again, thanks to those of you who participated in the SRM followers contest (BTW--check out the SRM blog today. Elizabeth has an amazing project posted!). You helped me have some of the highest numbers--which means I'll be receiving some new products to work with for SRM. Hooray! The feature will be on the blog later in April. I have your thank you goodies ready to mail, so watch for them next week :)

Love Family Mini Album

The January Hip kit Add-on had this LOVE mini album. I decided to use it to showcase our family photo shoot from last fall. I colored the chipboard pieces with the Maya Mist included as a special purchase last month. Then I cut pieces of patterned paper to go on each page. For the cover, I traced the letters and cut them out, then handstitched the red floss around the edges.

The envelope contains extra pictures that I printed but couldn't fit in the album.

Thanks for letting me share. Hope you are having a fantastic week :)
