French Indochina was founded in October 1887 from Annam ( North Vietnam ), Tokin ( Central Vietnam ) and Cochinchina ( South Vietnam ) and also the Kingdom of Cambodia. Laos was added after the Franco-Siamese War in 1893. The Federation lasted until 1954.

Ottoman Empire Coins












Ottoman rule started from a small Turkish state that emerged into an empire with the breakdown of the Seljuk Turks.   Expanding and annexing large surrounding areas ( middle east and certain eastern europe ) the glory and glamour of the empire became  words of the day. Some of the coins from that era are shown here.Coins number 1, 4 and 11 are made of silver.

The Dutch ruled Indonesia for many centuries and finally gave them full independence in 1948.  Here are some of the coins minted in Netherland that were used in Indonesia during their occupations.



Coins Of Tipu Sultan Of India








Tipu Sultan ruled the State of Mysore from 1782 - 1799.  He was killed on the 4th. of May 1799 while defending the fort of Seringapatam in the 4th. Anglo - Mysore War led by the British and Nizam of Hyderabad. Some of his coins are shown here.

Portuguese India Coins



The Portuguese State of India was established in 1505. Their first headquarter was in Cochin and then transfered to Goa in 1510.  All their territories were surrendered to the Government of India in 1975
