Wedding Shadowbox

Hello it's Amy and today is my turn to share on the blog.
Before we check out the project just a reminder to grab the Freebie of the Week!

I made a wedding invitation shadowbox for my project.

I put a patterned paper as my background. I then cut the Decorative Square SVG.

I used the offset on my Cameo to create a background. Then I offset it again.
I added foam core under both shapes to add dimension.

I then added foam core under the invite and finished off with some embellishments.

Easter Decor

It's my turn to share a fun Easter Decor project. Who's ready for Spring? I AM!

Before we check out my project don't forget to grab the Freebie of the Day from the Miss Kate Cuttables Website.

Here's my Easter Decor Project:

First thing I did was paint my wooden round. I have been wanting to try the buffalo plaid style for a really long time and finally gave it a try! (Search YouTube for tutorials)
Here's a look at my plaid pattern:

I then planned out my wording and the leaf accents...I wanted to keep them simple.
I used just the "Easter" portion from this Easter Title.

I used the only the green leaf layer from this Spring Wreath SVG.

I placed just the elements I wanted to use in my cameo software and placed the Easter on top of the wreath and subtracted the wreath so they would not overlap. I cut this from vinyl, applied it to the sign and used chalk paint and a foam brush to add the green and pink.

Since the background pattern was a bit busy I was not happy with the contrast of the Easter and leaves in the wreath. I first decided to do a solid fine point sharpie around the elements then decided to do a line/dot pattern. It's a bit less forgiving and I like the look.
Here's my work in progress...

I experimented at the top of my sign where I knew my flower and bow would cover up.
I added my flower and ribbons to the top and placed it on a stand. Super happy and love the bright spring colors.

Bowling, Braces & Burritos!

Hello There! It's Amy and I'm sharing a few single page layouts I created at a recent scrapbook weekend away.

Don't forget to grab the Freebie of the Day!

First up is Bowling:

I used the Let's Bowl Title.

Next up is my Braces Layout:

I used the Braces Title for my layout and cut out of silver glitter paper.
I used the top layer about the title on my page.

Last but not least here's my Burritos Layout :)

I used the following SVGs on my page:

Hope you liked my single page layouts!

Print and Cut series with Jen's Crafty Place

Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place with today's part 2 of the "Print and Cut" series with Miss Kate Cuttables. Check out part one HERE.

Before we get into the project, don't forget to go HERE to get your daily freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables.

This card is using the items we printed out in part 1.

I simply added my pieces to a simple base card and added some decorative paper to complete my Valentine's day card for my husband!!

I chose to add pop dots to my elements instead of cutting the elements out of the card base.

It is just as dramatic as the other card in part 1 but easier to assemble.

I added some glitter pen to all the hearts and the sprinkles to give it some glitz! That's it!! Thanks for stopping by!!  Be sure to sign up for my newsletter to get all the latest posts sent directly to your inbox!!

Love String Art

Hello Everyone! I'm sharing a new technique (for me) for my design team project. I will share step by step directions.

Before we check out my project just a reminder to grab the Freebie of the Day!

For my project I tried STRING ART!

I am going to share the steps I took to create the project:

STEP 1:
I selected the SVGs. I used the envelope from the Valentine Love Letter Set.

I also used a bold font for the LOVE. You can use the bottom layer of the Valentine Uppercase Alphabet. Once I imported the SVGs into my Cameo Software I converted to dots using the rhinestone feature. I converted the lines to dots. I used .25 spacing.

STEP 2:
I cut vinyl with my Cameo. When I peeled the vinyl from the backer it left all the dots on the backer piece so it was super easy and there was no weeding needed. I applied the vinyl to my board and grabbed by hammer and nails.

STEP 3:
I nailed in my nails. Using the holes in vinyl as my guide.

I peeled off the vinyl when I was done nailing.

STEP 4:
I grabbed my yarn (Walmart carries this brand)

I started by securing my yarn on a corner nail and double knotting it, leave a tail. I then went around the outside edge of the design, wrappng around each nail, sort of outlining it, keeping the yarn at the bottom of nail. Once it was outlined I started randomly wrapping the yarn until it was a desired amount of coverage.
Once it was completed I repeated the outline around the shape to finish it off and tied a knot at the nail I started on.

I decided to outline my envelope with black yarn - it helped to make it pop.

This project is time consuming but it was very fun!

I actually took some iphone videos. Here are the links on YouTube:

Halloween Decor with Miss Kate Cuttables and Jen's Crafty Place

Hi!! Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here. It is that time again to start thinking about Halloween Decor!! I have a great and VERY EASY project today to jump start your Halloween decorating.

But first, hop on over to Miss Kate Cuttables to get today's FREEBIE!!

I first got my file from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I chose the "Witch In Moon"  file but just about any file will work with this method. I put my image on the Silhouette Cameo 3 program mat and sized it as large as it would go to fit my 12x12 inch mat.

I cut out my image and weeded the image and set it aside. Then I proceeded to cut 3 more layers the exact same way. I used regular black 12x12 inch cardstock. Since I wanted my decor to be more sturdy I needed more layers. (If you had some mat board, you could sandwich that between two sheets of paper and that would be nice and sturdy. Just run a black marker around the edges to hide the mat board edge.)

I added glue to my last image and layered them together. If you have more then one mat, I would layer as I went. It is easier to glue while it is still on the mat because you can toss any paper that the glue seeps out on. This is also easier to line up the image.

Before I added my last layer, I added a piece of fishing line to the top as a hanger. I chose to run the line down her head and hat and up to the second ring around the moon for more stability.

At this point, you could be done, but I decided to add a bit more bling to my piece.

I just put some glue down and then sprinkled on some black glitter. Let them dry and this decor is finished!!  Time to make some more!!

I only placed it in front of the door to photo, hang it anywhere you want a bit of Halloween!

Popsicle Fun with Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place

Hi!! Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here with today's post. I decided to make a fun summer card set. I love these popsicles from Miss Kate Cuttables! Stay tuned to see how I made these cuties!!

Before we get into the project, don't forget to head over to Miss Kate Cuttables for the DAILY FREEBIE!  On to the project!!

You can find the designs I used HERE. The file is called "Popsicle Set" but if you don't find one you like in this set you can find more popsicles HERE.

I cut out all my popsicles and glued the layers together and then added a layer of crystal effects over the popsicle parts. I set these aside to dry.

I made some simple backgrounds for these cards since I wanted the main focus on the popsicles. The green card is using a simple dot die cut which I cut out of white and layered over some light green cardstock and mounted on an A2 card base.

For the orange popsicle background I used a dotted embossing folder with white paper and mounted it on an orange A2 card base.

I wanted a simple sentiment that would not take away from my popsicle image. I chose a simple "SWEET" word from "Valentine Word Set". After I cut the word out of black I glued it on the card front. For the green card, I added some glitter pen for some shine.

For the orange one I added some crystal effects over the word "Sweet" to do something different. After I added the dried popsicles to my cards I was finished with these two "sweet" cards! I can use them for a: Thinking of you, Birthday, Summer hello, Graduation card, or a Thank you card. This is a great card to add to your stash for when you need a card in a hurry.

 Enjoy!

My boys are starting back to school today and I have a layout to share!
(These are pics from 2017.) I'm pretty caught up on scrapping but not that caught up :)

I used the Miss Kate Cuttables Paper for my project! The papers are AMAZING!

I used a Close to my Heart Flip Flap to add the Back to School Chalkboard.
I also added some photos to back of panel.
