Guest DT Kim Ferguson

Hi Paper Crafters,

Welcome to my blog, Miss Kate Cuttables fans. Today I am sharing a project I have created for my guest designer post using the files: Quill You Be Mine?, Hedgehogs in Love, and Valentine Sugar Cookie Set. Please be sure to visit the Miss Kate Cuttables website to browse/shop the many images you can choose from for your paper crafting projects.

2019 is my third opportunity to be asked to join the guest designer team for MKC. Thank you for another year to be here. I love the chance to work with various cut files and share my work with other paper craft enthusiasts.

Why I chose the files for this layout? My mother-in-law makes the best sugar cookies for every holiday. She goes above and beyond to decorate the cookies and personalize for each family member. These cookies are like "crack," you can't just eat one, and everyone hides their stash from all the other family members. It is time to document such a task taken on by my mother-in-law.

I will be using photos from a recent Valentine's Day package of cookies, hand delivered to us by my mother-in-law with a special message of her love for us, her "love birds." I hope someday to be able to carry on her tradition with my children and grandchildren. I do not even attempt to try now as I could never compare. Join me in celebrating my lovely mother-in-law, Mary.

(I do not share photos on all my social media sites for privacy reasons)

Thank you for visiting, please be sure to stop by my other social media sites and leave a comment or subscribe for future project, tips and technique notices.

Print and Cut series with Jen's Crafty Place

Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place with today's part 2 of the "Print and Cut" series with Miss Kate Cuttables. Check out part one HERE.

 Before we get into the project, don't forget to go HERE to get your daily freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables.

This card is using the items we printed out in part 1.

I simply added my pieces to a simple base card and added some decorative paper to complete my Valentine's day card for my husband!!

I chose to add pop dots to my elements instead of cutting the elements out of the card base.

It is just as dramatic as the other card in part 1 but easier to assemble.

I added some glitter pen to all the hearts and the sprinkles to give it some glitz! That's it!! Thanks for stopping by!!  Be sure to sign up for my newsletter to get all the latest posts sent directly to your inbox!!

Love String Art

Hello Everyone! I'm sharing a new technique (for me) for my design team project. I will share step by step directions.

Before we check out my project just a reminder to grab the Freebie of the Day!

For my project I tried STRING ART!

I am going to share the steps I took to create the project:

STEP 1:
I selected the SVGs. I used the envelope from the Valentine Love Letter Set.

I also used a bold font for the LOVE. You can use the bottom layer of the Valentine Uppercase Alphabet. Once I imported the SVGs into my Cameo Software I converted to dots using the rhinestone feature. I converted the lines to dots. I used .25 spacing.

STEP 2:
I cut vinyl with my Cameo. When I peeled the vinyl from the backer it left all the dots on the backer piece so it was super easy and there was no weeding needed. I applied the vinyl to my board and grabbed by hammer and nails.

STEP 3:
I nailed in my nails. Using the holes in vinyl as my guide.

I peeled off the vinyl when I was done nailing.

STEP 4:
I grabbed my yarn (Walmart carries this brand)

I started by securing my yarn on a corner nail and double knotting it, leave a tail. I then went around the outside edge of the design, wrappng around each nail, sort of outlining it, keeping the yarn at the bottom of nail. Once it was outlined I started randomly wrapping the yarn until it was a desired amount of coverage.
Once it was completed I repeated the outline around the shape to finish it off and tied a knot at the nail I started on.

I decided to outline my envelope with black yarn - it helped to make it pop.

This project is time consuming but it was very fun!

I actually took some iphone videos. Here are the links on YouTube:

Joy with MKC

Hi everyone, it's Sherri from The Squeaky Scrapper and I'm super excited to be able to join you for another year of fun with Miss Kate Cuttables.  Can you believe we're in 2019 already, I don't even know where 2018 went!

Miss Kate is still going to be offering you a freebie of the day so don't forget to grab it Here!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the first project of the year I thought I would show you one of my Christmas cards that went out, I would consider it a clean and simple card.
I used the tree from the Silent Night Christmas bundle, which looks like this.  I stickled the twinkles in the tree also.
 Feel free to stop on over at my blog and say hi :-) The Squeaky Scrapper.
Guest DT Christi Steinbeck
Happy New Year Miss Kate Fans !  Christi from Scrapping For Tranquility  starting the 2019 Guest Designers off this year.  What an honor to be joining Miss Kate's Guest Design Team for the 3rd year in a row!  I want to take just a second to say to her, Thank you soooo much for gifting me with this honor!  I have really enjoyed the last 3 years and hope to see 3 more!
On to my project,
I am a little behind on my scrapbooking.  This is my 24 year old's newborn pictures when she was in the neonatal intensive care unit for being a preemie.  When I found these piecings of the gorgeous Sparkle Unicorn, Unicorn Head and Unicorn the title of "You Are Magical",  I knew Just what I wanted to do.
She was sooo tiny and had no fat on her she looked like a little Gremlin.  These photos, they had finally taken her off all the tubes and such and to me this was just "Magical".  Hence the title!
The fantasy of the gorgeous unicorns and the beautiful stars was just how I was feeling at that moment.
Sparkle Unicorn
I used a white, lightly glittered cardstock for the the white and all the other cardstock was American Crafts textured cardstock.
The pattern cardstock I used is Doodlebug's Fairy Tale Line.
Unicorn Head
I used the Unicorn Head on the banners to give it extra dimension and to even the layout out.
Unicorn
To finish the layout  I put the Unicorn rearing up on the second page and called it finished.
I really was pleased how this newborn layout came out.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Blessing!
