Random Things in the Air

I've said this a number of times before, but shipwatching gives me time to get pictures of other things that pass by.  There are usually birds that fly by or swim by or whatever.

I call the cormorant my happy place bird.  I used to think that was the seagull but I see seagulls in places that are not my happy places.  The cormorant seems to almost exclusively live by the water.  I like to see these guys fly by as they skim the water.
This is a Vans RV-7.  I think it was flying out of Windsor Airport.  It is a kit built aircraft out of Oregon.  I think there are several that are in Canada.

Some Flying Things Over Belle Isle

As I was waiting for my next ship, I saw these aircraft flying by.

These are a pair of Vans aircraft.  Vans airplanes are kit aircraft.  Both of these are Vans RV-6 and RV-7.  The kits are produced in Oregon and the planes are built wherever.  Both of these were built in Canada.
This is a Robinson helicopter.  I think it was flying out of City Airport in Detroit.

Some Planes Over the River

As I was getting ready for the Blough to appear, I heard some noise and I turned up towards it.  There was a formation of planes flying over the river.
The plane on the left is a Vans RV-7.  It is a kit built aircraft sold by Van's Aircraft out of Oregon.  The airframe is designed to accept a 200 Horsepower Lycoming engine.  Roughly 1400 have been produced between 2001 and 2014.  The plane on the right is a Boeing-Stearman N2S Kaydet.  It was primarily used as a trainer for the Navy.
An AT-6 Texan, although the plane is called a Harvard in Canadian circles.  This plane is wearing Canadian training colors but it was used as an advanced trainer for many Air Forces.
Another angle of the first two planes.
A little later, this Piper PA-38 appeared.  It is owned by the Windsor Flying Club.
