Express Kit Monday - The Good Life

Today I have some beautiful layouts using "The Good Life" Express kit from
a few of our Creative TeamWorks Members.

Here are Jody Spiegelhoff 's Layouts

Megan Pecock's picture frame and layouts

And lastly my mini-album, layout and gift wrap

I love how versatile these kits can be.  Did you notice - all three of us used the same piece of paper as a beginning layer?  And look how different they all turned out!

I hope you have enjoyed today's projects.  I'll be back again next Monday with Cards, Cards and more Cards from "The Good Life" Express Kit.

Creative Friday - Katie Skiff

TGIF - It's been a long week for me here, so I am happy to share some fun inspiration with you all on this great FRIDAY!!

I got my February MemoryWorks Express kit and the colors just blew me away!!  So bright and fun!!  I am a card maker more than anything, so I was drawn to some of the elements to make a few cards.

I cut out one of these journal cards from the sheet and thought it would be a fun sentiment.  I created some arrows and stitched them down the side, and finished the card with the cute ribbon.  I am a huge polka dot fan!!

The kraft tags from Pebbles called out to me too, so I used them to add a fun sentiment to the cards.  I tied this one to the card with the flowers in the kit.

Everyone always needs a Thank You card, so I created a simple background for this cute card.

I had some freshly printed photos and I thought the colors from my Grandpa's jacket and his cake matched the My Minds Eye papers in this months kit.  The Best ribbon is perfect way to sum up how great it is to be able to celebrate your grandfathers 90th birthday.

I trimmed off another journaling card for this layout as well.  A very fun finish to this layout.

I'm eyeing more and more fun stuff on the website this week.  This Unforgettable line from My Minds Eye is probably going to be one I stock up on!!

Thanks for the visit - I've enjoyed sharing with you these last two weeks.

I’m In Love

February Challenge

This month’s challenge is to focus on a trend, technique or product you love in a layout or card or project.  Here’s mine:

Can you tell that I’m in love with patterned papers?  I’ve combined Teresa Collins Now & Then and Carta Bella Beautiful Moments papers from the January Express Kit with Crate Paper’s On Trend to create my layout.  I played with feathers as a trend, making them from washi tapes, made flags to layer and even stamped on the canvas heart that came in the express kit.

So let’s see what you’re in love with!  Join in on the challenge. Create a layout or card based on the challenge, upload it here and to the gallery by February 28th. One lucky participant will win a prize from Home Office!!

A few trends I noticed while checking out some of the CHA sneak peaks were feathers, watch faces, dominos, washi tape, wood veneers, enamel dots, pins, chevrons, hexagons, mustaches, stencils, and the colors grey and yellow, coral, teal, and Project Life sized elements (Sn@p!) were everywhere.

Cards and Tags Thursday - Folding Card

I am one that loves to learn new things.  With that said, I was trying to come up with a card that I could give to each of my grandchildren for Valentine's day.  I found this card on-line (sorry I can't find the link any longer) of an interactive card for them.  So I've created one to share with you.
As you can see this opens in the center and lift up
Fold back the front to create this part of the card
Lift the center back to show this part of the card and then lift at the middle section
Then you are to the back of the card and it will take you back to where you began.

I used only one piece of paper for the main card and then decided to change it up to give it more character and a few more colors.  I used this month's "Amore" MemoryWorks Express Kit.  I cut pieces (and I must say you need to be pretty precise) and layered other scraps on each of the main cuts.  I inked each piece of paper, stickers and chipboard with Tim Holtz inks.  I embellished each section of the card with items included in the kit.  You can't make it too "lumpy" or it won't turn.  You will need to start with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of paper, then cut that in half to make two pieces 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  You need to score one at 1 3/8" and the other on each side of the other one on its long side at 1 1/16.  Cut them in half to create 2 1/8 x 5 1/2 and 2 3/4 x 4 1/2".  Glue on the score lines but only up a little bit or it won't turn.  The card will make an "H" design and you can begin folding and playing with the card.

I'm not really one who does a lot of paper folding so this is new for me, but this was kind of fun and will certainly be fun for the grandkids to play with.

Enjoy and Keep on Scrappin'

Open Blog - Pocket Calendar

Hi... Janey here and I am excited to share with you a project that I make each year for my friends and myself.  I've made them stocking stuffers too.  I have taken a calendar from the dollar bin at Michael's and repurposed it.  For some reason I remember things better when I write them down rather then just putting them in my phone or on my computer.  It came in a plastic cover which I removed to create the project and then put back on to preserve it, since it will be hanging out in my purse.  I put my checks in the back of it as well, so everything is in one place.  I have been known to take one of these calendars out to use and had people comment on them.  I've even had people ask me make one for them!  It is always a conversation piece that could even promote your business.

This may also count as the challenge for the month as well as the MemoryExpress Kit project!  I have used this month's "AMORE" February Kit.  I inked all the edges of everything even the chipboard and numbers.  I used Stickles to add to some of the pieces that didn't have bling already on them.  The ribbon, baker's twine and heart pin are fun additions to the project too.  There is a little washi tape on there too.  The calendar came together really easy and fast not to mention the idea can be created on a card or layout later on.  Give it a try for yourself.

I hope you have been inspired today and stay tuned for more inspiration coming up for our very talented MemoryWorks TeamWorks Designers!
Keep on scrappin'

Cards and Tags Thursday?

I'm sure you are wondering why I am posting a card today... can I just life happens and I missed Thursdays date?  Nonetheless, I have a fun card to share with you using this month's
MemoryWorks Express Kit.

With this card I have used the card stock included in the kit along with ribbon and heart pin.  I used the  Tim Hotz distressed inks to shade the edges of all pieces of paper.  As you can see I managed to do some stitching with my sewing machine (why limit yourself to only adhesive)?  I also added some buttons from my MemoryWorks stash.

I've entitled the card "Owl" Always Love You and plan on giving this to my Hunka, Hunka for Valentine's Day...Ssshhh... don't tell him:)  We had our fist date 34 years this Valentine's.

Well I hope this is just a little inspiration for you.  Check out all the fun projects on the blog as our TeamWorks Members have some great talent using this same kit!

Keep on Scrappin'
