Throwback Thursday - Live to Inspire

Hi there, friends! Popping in today to share a card I created for Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink. Butterflies, inspiring words and the color pink … three of my favorite things that I used to create my card for today.

I love the Butterfly Folk Collection and used that as the focal point on my card. I die-cut a large white butterfly and on top of that I attached the word inspire in a few different colors. That was die-cut using the Words to Live By: Inspire Die

On the front of my white card base I attached a Hibiscus frame that was die-cut from the Shape Shifters: Oval 1 Die.  I then attached the butterfly in the center with dimensional foam.

To finish it, I added the rest of my sentiment and a few clear sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Ink to Paper Countdown - Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Ink to Paper Release Countdown! Today we have 3 more amazing new sets to share with you ... You Are My Happy, Frame It Out: Wishes and Celebrating You. All three of these sets are jam packed with so many stamping possibilities!

**All of the new products you see will be available on the new Ink to Paper website on May 15th at 10pm EST!**

Up first is a set that I designed … You Are My Happy! I'm so happy to be back to designing and what better set to kick off this new release with then one filled with lots of happy! It's filled with a mix of fun sentiments, both big and bold and script. And flowers, lots of sweet flowers!

I chose the following colors to use on my first card … Melon Berry, Hibiscus, Orange Zest and Hawaiian Shores. I stamped the large HAPPY, in each of those colors, down the center of my card. Along the left side, I stamped 'wishing you a' vertically, in black. To finish my sentiment, I stamped 'BIRTHDAY' underneath, also in black.

Around my sentiment I added flowers that I had stamped and die-cut using the coordinating You Are My Happy Die Collection. Those were popped up with dimensional foam.

I added a few die-cut leaves and die-cut circles for my flower centers to complete my first card!

Up next is Frame It Out: Wishes

I started by die-cutting the two leave bundles in the set and stamped the outline in black. I then went back and filled each leave in with the following colors … Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Green Parakeet and Simply Chartreuse.

I arranged those around my white card base, leaving room for my sentiment in the center. I love that this set comes with a sentiment shadow die!

To complete my second card I simply added a few orange sequins around my wreath!

My final card for today features the new Celebrating You set. There are so many fun elements to this set. I chose the heart balloon to use on my card!

Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores are the colors on this one. I simply cut down a white card panel and stamped the balloon outline across the front. I filled in each of those with the colors I just mentioned and then stamped the strings.

To create polka dot balloons, I stamped the two circle images in Fresh Snow ink. I added die-cut bows to each of the balloons and the large Happy Birthday sentiment. That was stamped on an oval I die-cut with the Nesting Basics: Oval Die Collection.

I hope you enjoyed my projects for today. Is anything standing out to you so far this month? I would love to know!

Pop on over to the Ink to Paper Blog for more details on all of these wonderful new sets!

Have a wonderful Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful moms, stepmoms grandmas, sisters, aunts and friends!

Ink to Paper Countdown - Day 1

Hi there, crafty friends! It's been awhile, but I'm happy to be back and am excited to share some new products that will be coming soon. You've all been so patiently waiting for this big day and we thank you so much. Ink to Paper is a new brand of Papertrey Ink and we have a whole lot of goodness coming soon for the very first release! Today, we have three new sets to announce … Nature's Backgrounds, Essential Sentiments and Watercolor Backgrounds!

**All of the new products you see will be available on the new Ink to Paper website on May 15th at 10pm EST!**

I just love each of these new sets and loved mixing them together to create this bright and cheerful card. To begin, I chose one of the background images from Watercolor Backgrounds and stamped it repeatedly on a white A2 card panel. I used the following colors … Hibiscus, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest and Sweet Blush. After I finished stamping, I die-cut the center out using the Nesting Basics: Rectangle Dies.

I attached that card panel to the front of my white card base and then set it aside so I could focus on my flowers from Nature's Backgrounds. Those were all stamped on Aqua Mist cardstock and then die-cut using the coordinating dies.

I attached them all to my card front, some using dimensional foam and then tucked a few leaves underneath some of them.

And last, but not least, I added a sentiment from Essential Sentiments

I just barely scratched the surface of these beautiful new sets. I'm really looking forward to inking them up again and showing them more love. Be sure to visit the new Ink to Paper Blog for more inspiring projects!

Thank you so much for visiting with me. I'll see you right back here tomorrow with more new product announcements and projects!

Melissa

Design Team Tips - Uplifting Card Set

Happy Friday, crafty friends! It's time for a Design Team Tip with Papertrey Ink. Today, I'm sharing a tip on creating one of my favorite things ... flat, uplifting note cards. Most of the time we create folded A2 cards, but sometimes I like to create postcard style cards, where you don't need anything written on the inside, because the front says exactly what you need it to. You could place these anywhere you feel they could bring a smile to someone!

The Words to Live By series was perfect for creating this set. Here are the links to each one I used....

For the base of my note card I used the Scallop Stackers: Medium Die. I die-cut six different colors … Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus, Green Parakeet, Melon Berry and Bright Buttercup.

I then die-cut six white rectangles using the Nesting Basics: Rectangles Dies. On those I stamped my sentiments, mixing up the colors between each of the cards.

I just love the Together Forever Blooms Stamp Set and thought one of the flowers in that would be the perfect accent around my sentiment.

After each of my panels were stamped, I attached them to the colorful scallop rectangles and added sequins around the bottom of each one.

And here is a peek of them all together. So happy and cheerful!

Thanks so much for visiting. Have a happy Friday!

Melissa

Transformation Tuesday - Happy Easter

Good morning, friends! Welcome to Transformation Tuesday with Papertrey Ink. Today, I'm taking a design I created last fall and transforming it into a card for Easter. This design was a bit different for me, but I was so  happy with the end result that I wanted to create it again!

Here is my original card. You find the full post right HERE!

Here is my transformed card. I started with a piece of Bitty Big: Harvest Gold paper and attached that at an angle on the front of my white card base. After attaching it, I thought it needed a bit more color, so I added a strip of Hibiscus along the bottom and side.

Using both Nesting Basics: Ovals and Nesting Basics: Pierced Ovals Dies, I created a base for my sentiment. 'Happy Easter' is from the Huggables: Bunny & Chick Mini Stamp Set

I added flowers from Lilies of the Field around my sentiment. Those were all stamped in pinks, yellows and purples and die-cut with the coordinating Lilies of the Field Die Collection. I wanted to add a few more leaves and ended up using a few I had stamped and die-cut from a previous project. Those are from the Botanical Bounty collection.

I popped the whole thing up with dimensional foam and added a few colorful sequins to complete it!

Thank you for visiting with me today. I hope you enjoyed and hope you have a wonderful day!

Melissa

Saturday Showcase - Better Together

Hey friends! Happy weekend to you. I'm joining in today for Saturday Showcase over on the Papertrey Ink Blog. This week we are creating projects with the gorgeous set, Better Together. Pretty florals + uplifting and thoughtful sentiments … two of my favorite things in one stamp set!

I created two cards for today … same color combo, just different layouts!

I started by stamping a variety of the flowers and stems/leaves onto the following cardstock colors … Hawaiian Shores, Bright Buttercup, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy. After die-cutting them all I began assembling my cards.

For the first one I chose a simple row of colorful flowers. I attached those to a white card panel that I had trimmed down to 4" x 5.25". Above my flowers I added one of uplifting sentiments.

I then attached the panel to the front of my Bitty Big: Smokey Shadow card base. I used circle punches to create the centers of my flowers. It's hard tell from the photo, but each of them was filled in with Glossy Accents.

My second card features more of the flowers tucked around my sentiment. I did some layering on this one, placing the smaller flowers over the larger. Again I filled in the centers using my circle punch and white cardstock.

I wanted to add a bit more color and chose to replace a few of the words in the sentiment with colorful sentiment strips. I just love how this one turned out!

Be sure to visit the Papertrey Ink Blog for more inspiration. Have a wonderful day!

Melissa

Transformation Tuesday - Just Because

Good morning to you, friends! I'm popping in today to share a card for Transformation Tuesday with Papertrey Ink. I always tend to lean towards clean and simple designs, so that's what I did again for today. I chose an older CAS card and did a very simple transformation into yet another CAS card.

Here is my original card that I created back in July. You can find it right HERE!

For today, I simply switched up my sentiment and swapped out the heart on my original card for a butterfly.

I used Sentiment Staples: Just A Note and stamped the sentiment in the following colors … Pale Peony, Bright Buttercup, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Green Parakeet. Next, I stamped 'because I miss you', in True Black, onto a strip of white and attached it with dimensional foam.

Just underneath my sentiments I added a strip of Bright Buttercup cardstock.

And last, but not least, I added a die-cut butterfly from Make It Market Mini Kit: Color Pop Butterflies. I added dimensional foam behind that before attaching it and then finished my card off with a few colorful sequins.

I'm thinking that creating a set of all occasion cards with the entire Sentiment Staples collection would be a great gift idea. And with this CAS design it would take no time to mass produce them! What do you think?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, friends. I hope you have a happy Tuesday!

xo,
Melissa

Saturday Showcase - Lilies of the Field

Good morning and happy weekend to you! Today, a few of us on the Papertrey Ink team are popping in to share a few projects using the beautiful Lilies of the Field set. This is another stunning floral set that you can't help but love creating with!

I created two cards using the same color palette … you can find all of the colors in my supply list below.

Up first is a sweet congrats card created with a mix of Lilies of the Field and a sentiment from Penned Elegance. But first, I added a white frame for my flowers and sentiment to sit on by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock using the Shape Shifters: Oval 2 Die.

After the frame was die-cut and attached to my Hibiscus card base I added my flowers and sentiment. I could have easily stamped the flowers directly onto the oval frame, but I always love to add a little dimension to my cards, so I die-cut and added dimensional foam behind them.

I added a few clear sequins around the lilies to complete my first card.

Using the same colors for my second card, I simply die-cut and stamped multiple lilies and attached them across a white cardstock panel. Some I attached directly and others were again popped up.

I added another sentiment from Penned Elegance … a simple hello! And also added a few more clear sequins before attaching the panel to the front of my Hibiscus card base.

Pop on over to the Papertrey Ink Blog to see the beautiful projects the other gals created for you today!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful Saturday!

Melissa
