A brand new year!

I could start off this post with how rough last year was for me. There were health issues, ragged emotions and lots of questions with few answers. But this is a new year - full of possibilities and I'm eager and ready to charge ahead.

And that is the problem. . . . charging ahead. Have you ever been faced with a situation or an opportunity and rather than think about it or, even better, pray about it, you just charge ahead?  Suddenly, you're surrounded by problems you didn't anticipate. Life gets complicated and you look around, wondering "What happened?" Impulse decisions and that 'charging ahead' concept didn't work well for me last year.

I don't usually choose a One Word. It just doesn't stick. New Years resolutions also meet the same fate. But the last few days, God has dropped a word into my spirit that resonates.

As of right now, I'm not sure how this is going to play out in my life. I still have the health issues, ragged emotions and unanswered questions. But I'm trusting God to work it all out. Why? Because God says He will.
"Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you."
1 Peter 5: 7

"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord endures
forever' Do not forsake the work of Your hands."
Psalm 138:8

In the months ahead, I'll talk more about how God is simplifying my life. Again, what that will entail, I'm eager to learn. I'm also adding another thought to my word simplify. It is to slow down. - my thoughts, my decisions and my actions.

Wishing all my readers a very Happy New Year!
