Healthy Food from Healthy Cooking

I arrived here last August 2008 and received a welcome gift from my husband, a convection toaster oven. He knows that I like cooking. The most versatile gift I ever had. I can broil few pieces of chicken wings in the oven, not using our big oven which costs more energy just broiling few pieces. The oven becomes hot in no time. You don't need to wait for a long time to put your food inside the oven compared to big oven which takes time to be warm. It is very functional. I cook, bake and broil through convection. I cooked sticky rice last time. I cook potatoes and vegetables in the oven. The potatoes and veggies taste awesome. The potatoes are floury which we like very much and the vegetables are crunchy, not wet. I slice the potatoes and vegetables in bite pieces, sprinkle a little bit of salt, put in the pyrex bowl, no water and then in the oven. The hanging water will cook the veggies or potatoes. You select the weight and then turn on. While it is cooking you can do other household chores. That is fantastic. The oven has a 60-minute timer control with bell. When you hear the bell then it is done or you have to mix. Last week I cooked french beans, my daughter liked it. I prepared only 300 grams because I thought my kids would not eat but my daughter was asking for more. Next time I will prepare more. Henceforth I cook potatoes and vegetables in the oven. The food is very tasty and above all  very healthy. I use the oven everyday. Very easy, and convenient cooking  in the oven. Having convection toaster oven makes cooking more relax and comfortable.

About this Blog

I make this blog for foreigners who will live in this country, THE NETHERLANDS. Foreigners who are engaged or married they have to learn a lot of things about their new home like the culture, architectures, landscape, government, dikes etc. Especially the Dutch language which is very important in their social life. It is very difficult if they cannot communicate with other people. Most people speak Dutch, only few speaks English.
For visitors and readers, this will give you an idea what this country is. This small country ranks no. 5 in the economic stability in EUROPE. Their architectures like palaces, castles, dikes, ports (air and sea) are amazing.
Their culture is very interesting.
