Love is in the air

I made this card about 3 weeks ago, and never finished it off.  It needed to be glued together and the ribbon added.  Then I got an email from my friend Jeanie, reminding me that I have not posted anything in a while. Well, one can only post a card if you have one to post, right! At least someone got me going and I finally finished this card, lol!

This image is a Penny Black stamp, which one of my fellow South African crafting buddies sent me a looong time ago.  Sharon I hope you didn't think that I gave your images away, hehehe, I will never be that silly.  Thanks again, and wish I was not so lazy so I could use them all.
I coloured the image with prismacolor pencils and blended it with sansador (gamsol). Then I cut it in a rectangle, rounded the corners with a corner rounder and distressed the edges with a paper distresser. There's some glitter on the hearts but my photos never show those little details. The doily border is a martha stewart border punch. Almost forgot!! The paper is also from the huge pile which Paula sent me! Now that I have all her paper, I wish I could make cards just as beautiful as hers....!
Of course I need to share an updated picture of Lady Ayla Belle. She LOVES the garden and is starting to climb the trees just like a little monkey. Not sure I like that idea, I prefer her safe on the ground :-) She will be 5 months next week, and she's still very tiny. The photo doesn't really make her look tiny with all that fluffy hear, and it's extra fluffy cause she had a bath on Friday, woohoo!
Have a lovely Sunday. I am very pleased I managed to fit in a Valentines card. Even if it is just one, lol!

Take care

Who stole the cheese

Look what I have to share today, a brand new image from none other than Ladybug Crafts Ink. This is my first card that I've made for Kerry, and I sure hope she likes it.

I think this image is just so cute, look at that big eye peeping at the poor little mouse going by. This is Tiptoeing Lily and she sure looks pretty confident walking past Magnum, then again he doesn't look like he needs food, lol!

I coloured the image with my prismacolor pencils, blended with sansador (gamsol), and then cut it out with an oval nestie. The paper is from October Afternoon, the fence is a Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment is from Elzybells.

Now, I tried something different with my picture. I tried Jeanie's super clever way of taking her pictures with a pretty background instead of the usual dull one I have. I could not however decide which one I liked better, isn't that typical, lol! So please let me know what you think!

That's that for today! Hope you have a great Monday.

When I grow up

A friend of mine (Colleen's), niece is turning 21, the theme for her party is 'When I grow up'. That is where the sentiment for this card came from... and NO, it was not my idea, but Colleen's herself. I didn't put up much of an argument though, lol! Colleen, I hope you like it!!

The image is another from Bugaboo Stamps (note they only do digital images :-)). I must say I love the images that Jodie, she's Bugaboo herself, comes up with. One thing I have come to love with digital images is that you can make them any size that you may need, unlike rubber stamps. For this card, I wanted to make something a bit bigger than usual and it was great that I could resize the image and not have this tiny little image lost on my card. That was the same for the invites I made for my mom's 70th. I wanted smaller cards and it was just perfect that I could make Stella smaller. If any of you are still uncertain go to the Bugaboo freebie page and try the freebies for this week. (There are new freebies every Friday!) This week there are 3 freebies and they are too cute.

I printed the image with a laser printer, then left it for a day to dry properly. I coloured it with my prismacolor pencils and blended it with sansador (gamsol). This time I could not use a nestie, because the image was a bit too big for any of the nesties I have. I cut it with my craft knife and layered it on some DP made locally. The border was done with a Martha Stewart punch. I love that punch!!!

I also decorated the inside of the card, just cause it is for a special occasion. I was specifically asked to put '21' on it, but I just did not think it would fit on the front, so doing the inside of the card was a perfect solution!

I hope to make at least one more post this week, it is almost 3 weeks since I posted anything. I did finish this card a while back, but I just hadn't posted it. It's winter here, and it's cold, and it makes me not want to do anything but sit in front of the heater, lol.

I hope some of you are watching the soccer (football) world cup, hosted here in South Africa. I never, I mean NEVER, watch soccer, but I was glued to the TV watching Bafana Bafana (that means The Boys), play Mexico yesterday. I am so pleased we did not lose. Can't wait for our next game on Wednesday, and we have a public holiday, so the whole country will be watching. Although I think the country already came to a stand still with yesterday's game.

I'm done for today. See you soon.

I'm a winner

I could not believe my luck, in one week I was one of the winners in Jeanie's That's Krafty Thursday challenge, and I won 4 free images from Bugaboo stamps when I entered their Saturday challenge. How cool is that!!! Okay maybe not so cool for the rest of you lol, but for me it was so exciting.

Of course I just had to enter Krafty Thursday again this time around. How could I not. If you want to enter then use this link here to get all the details. Check the little chicken on my sidebar, that's the badge that you could win. I love it, it's too cute.

My image is from Stamping Bella and is called Giga Watt. It's one of the many images Paula sent me ages ago, and finally I've had some time to use it. I coloured him with my prisma pencils and blended it with sansador. The star border is a martha stewart punch, which I have been dying to use, but just couldn't find the right fit.

I am so tired tonight, I did not sleep well last night at all, and at 2:11am I was taking my washing down cause it started raining. Not fun at all, hehehe. At least the garden got a nice soak.

Now go on and make those krafty projects, if you don't have kraft paper just use a brown paper bag or an old envelope, it works just as well.

Till later this week.

That's Krafty Thursday, on a Monday

As I mentioned in my previous post, Jeanie has decided to open up her That's Krafty Thursday as a challenge. No, there's no big grand prize to be won, but it's fun and you can get a badge for best card if you enter.

I decided to play along, and although I do not have true kraft paper, I used something that looks very similar. Hopefully no-one can tell, lol (and don't read this post). This card is going to my niece for her 10th Birthday, her favourite colours are lime green and blue, but this was the closest I could get. Hopefully she still likes it.

The image I chose is from Whipper Snapper, and it's called Turtle with Frog. Aren't they just the pair. I think they're adorable. I got it with the many other images sent to me by Jeanie, and I thought it made sense to use one of them for her very own challenge.

The image was coloured with my prismacolor pencils and blended with sansador (gamsol). I then cut it with a nestie die and layered it on a nestie scalloped mat. I also added some glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and the sentiment is from Stamping Bella. Oops nearly forgot, the little fence border was done with my Martha Stewart fence border punch.

We have a public holiday tomorrow and I'm so pleased cause I want to start working on my mom's birthday invitations. I have lots of time still to make them, but I know myself all too well. I always leave things till the last minute then I make a mess or don't do it at all.

That's it from me for today, hope you will all try and join in the That's Krafty Thursday challenge, you have till Wednesday evening to submit your entry. Lots of time!

Cutest Bunny

Isn't she the cutest bunny? I think so, and I had such fun colouring her. She smiled at me the whole time, lol!

This bunny is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps, and she's called Posing Bunny. She is a real poser. She was also in the parcel that Jeanie sent me, see lots of images in that parcel.

I coloured her with a mix of lyra and prismacolor pencils, blended it with sansador (gamsol), and cut the image out with a circle nestability die. The border was done with my Martha Stewart doily lace border punch. Then I added some glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and highlighted her teeth and nose with a glaze pen. They are perfect for precision.

After looking at Paula's grass tutorial I love adding grass to my images when it's needed it, but somehow my grass just never looks anything like hers! So Paula please no comment about my grass, when you come here to teach me I will finally get it right, rofl! Or alternatively I have ordered that webcam you and Jeanie have been nagging me about, so I could get a personal lesson, woohoo. How about that, lol.

I can't believe it is Sunday again, it feels like two days ago that I sat in front of the computer blogging. I have been colouring a bit this week, but so far this weekend I've only had time to make this one card.

My mom's 70th birthday is coming up in July, and my sister and I are trying to plan it well in advance. The reason I am telling you this is because I bought some images from Bugaboo stamps this past week to use for my mom's invitations and birthday cards. They are hilarious. Go and check out Stella, I had to stop myself or I would've bought every single one. (Like I don't have enough stamps and images!!)

Well that's the end of my story for today. Hope you all have a great week.

Can I have those birds

This image by Stamping Bella is called Birds Decorating Trees - I WANT birds like that. I love Christmas, and I love having my tree up and decorating almost every room in my house with something Christmassy, but boy would I love it if I had clever little birds to do it for me, especially the lights, they are such a pain to try and get around the tree, and my tree is big. But I guess that isn't going to happen so I'll move on and tell you about my card.

I coloured the image with my prismacolor pencils and blended it with grumtine, oh and it's stamped on Bella paper - it's great if you've been looking for good paper for stamping, and added bonus it works with pencils and copics. Cut the image out with nesties and matted it on nesties. I feel like a broken record, the same info every time, maybe I should consider getting copics - NOT!

I added only a little bit of glitter and then used my br-A-nd new Martha Stewart punch for those borders. I can't wait to use this punch again, but there are always so many ideas and so many things I want to try and use again, but to find the time is such a pain. Maybe I should buy less stuff, then I could use the same things more often - good idea - no, I agree, lol!

Remember how often I moaned and complained about HOW cold I was in my study, well guess what, it's summer, it's boiling hot, and now I am so hot in here I just wanna finish this post and get out - will I ever be happy. Well, I know one thing for sure, I'd rather be too hot than cold!

If you haven't visited the Bella blog yet, then I guess you don't know the theme for this week is BABY - anything Baby - and you have until Friday night to send your card to Emily. She is running late this week and gave everyone a little extra time. I have got the cutest little card to share for this theme, so do come back to visit and see what I've done.

Off to bed I go, have a great day, or evening, depending on your time zone.
