Serene Thoughts.....

 

When I saw the colour palette over at Colour Q this week, my thoughts immediately went to a sunset over water.....the colours just called to me for this style of card.

 

So here is my card..... I know I have black on there which is not actually on the palette, but I'm hoping that the ladies of the challenge will forgive me.

 

I've also been playing with the reflection technique in the card.....a simple technique and one of the very first that I learnt, way back in 2008....

Colours: Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Memento Tuxedo Black

Other: Rhinestones

Sympathy card.......

 

Thought I'd share a card I made to go to the parents of a lady who passed away too young....I spent today with extended family and friends celebrating her life.

 

 

I masked off the white boarder with my favourite large post it notes, and then brayered the background.

 

Not sure if you can see them, but there are three little pearls under the watermark :-(  .

 

And here's my trick for making the butterfly look like it's flying.....stamp it onto the cardstock, then mount a second image popped up, and then bend up the wings slightly.  There are some baby pearls in the centre of this cutie too.....

 

Colours: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Memento Tuxedo Black

Other: Basic Pearls

More Sympathy....

 

Two sympathy cards for work friends in a week.....hmmmm....

 

Hopefully the lovely lady receiving this card will be able to draw some brightness to her day with the colours featured in this card.

 

I've used Retro Sketches #166 for the sketch inspiration and Colour Q #293 for the colour palette.

Here's my card.

 

 

I've stretched the sketch a little, using the drape of the flowers as the flag, the colour washes as the straight line and the bow as the cloud. The rest of the layout is fairly true to the sketch.

CTS #125 With Sympathy.....

 

Sympathy cards are never easy to make..... but when I do have the sad occasion to make one, I like to ensure that the card is simple and elegant.  I try to chose colours that will resonate with the person I'm making the card for. 

 

The gentleman this card is for will appreciate the bright colours, as he is (usually) such an inspiration to others.  

 

 

 

And on a positive note.....I'm loving the new green in the 2015-17 In Colours.... Cucumber Crush!
