25 Things About Me

Trying to blog more often and this is a pretty good way to keep at it. A random 15 things about me. Some of the questionnaires were a bit juvenile so I am just going to add random facts about myself. It's my blog so it's about me right??

1. I am still in denial about my dad's passing. This is so hard to get over. Perhaps because the death is so close to my brother's passing. It literally gives me the chills every single day.

2. I dream about my daddy every single night. It's so weird. Like he wants to pass something to me. Something just seems unfinished, not with our relationship but other aspects of his life. Or perhaps it's how I keep him with me all the time?

3. I listen to old school jams my daddy played all the time when me and my brothers were kids. It makes me sad and happy.

4. I am always wanting to get away. Everyday I go online and look at beautiful places I'd love to travel to. Living in Germany really made me appreciate what the world's got to offer.

5. I watch food-centric movies when I am cooking.

6. I think way too much into some things. I wish I didn't.

7. Scrubs ALWAYS makes me cry as much as it makes me laugh.

8. I collect aprons from different cities. I just started this after we went to Paris.

9. My hair is in the awkward stage of length. I have a mullet. I am trying to get creative with the styles to hide it! It usually takes me a good six months. to reach a bit of normalcy all around. When it gets to a nice length I will trim all around.

10. Me and my mother argue. But always make-up. She said the sweetest thing, you are as sweet as you are beautiful. I never heard my mother call me beautiful, it was really nice. Not in a vain way, but that she doesn't see me as a lil kid, but a woman and I not just her irritatingly defiant daughter :-)

11. Marvin Gaye is my favorite male singer.

12. I am really tall. 6'2 to be exact. But when people look at me say, "you're really tall" irritates the HELL out of me. OF COURSE I KNOW THIS.

13. I am a ridiculous worrier.

14. I am very impatient. But patient when it really matters.

15. I was supposed to do 25 facts about me but that's too much. I think you guys agree too, amirite?

So here are 10 pictures you may have never seen.....aka throwbacks

Because I'm worth it!

Ladies, we all can get comfortable in a relationship. I know guys do as well, but I'm talking to the ladies.

In the beginning, you dress to the nines all the time. Always made sure you wore your best lingerie and of course you wore sets. Hair was always done, toes and nails were perfect, etcetera etcetera. Let's just say you never walked around your mate looking a hot mess for a looong while.

So now fast-forward later on in the relationship. He's heard you fart, saw you pick your nose and teeth, saw you first thing in the morning and has caught a whiff of your morning breath a few times. So now you're wearing sweats even when you're not out for a jog, you have hair curlers in your hair for days, basically not the woman you once were.

Ok, maybe that's just me. My husband claims to love me anyway, and find me sexually attractive all the time. But I know he wished I tried a little harder. My over comfortability (whoa, that's a word!) made me, not him feel very uncomfortable with my appearance. As I said in the previous post, I was more concerned with my kitchen than myself. So what's the point of complaining if you're not going to do something about it. So I did.

Recently we got some extra money, and I asked if there was room in the budget for Mommy Time. He said go for it, which I believe in man-language means, " Please do you'll stop complaining to me!"

I didn't do some massive makeover. I just got my hair done--for the first time in YEARS-- and some new clothes. I also got my eyebrows threaded for the first time. Whoever said threading wasn't painful is a LIAR. OMG I was praying for the end. I hope it lasts!!! I'd rather deal with the quick sting of waxing!!!! But if it lasts, I'll endure the pain of threading!

So here is me in my home attire:
AAAAAH!

After:
Honestly, I would never buy this normally...or have my hair this color. So that's why I did it :)

I doubt I will be able to keep it up. We'll see...

Sassy Mama- Wannabe!

So, I am way overdue for a new wardrobe. I bought 2 outfits last year after I gave birth to my son and before that I bought fat pants for my fat pregnant ass.

It's all my fault, though. I, of course, would rather spend money on my children's clothes, and to be honest, I do not have much of a choice with them growing like weeds and all. Also, extra money goes to cookbooks, good ingredients- ie going to the fish counter, butchers for meat and special markets- and items for my kitchen. And now that I am into photography, new things for the camera!

So, yeah, my food tastes better and looks better, but I just become more and more plain. It's pretty depressing, but finally yesterday I did something about it. My closet is full of jeans and plain t-shirts. Not much color besides a peach shirt here and a yellow dress there. So while I was shopping on www.hm.de I made sure to buy color, and clothes that I'd normally never go for.

I'm a mother of 3, slim, and not ugly, so I really need to stop frumping myself out. I also have an hair appointment tomorrow. I am too embarrassed to say the last time a professional did my do. So, I'm sort of going through a mini transformation on the outside as well on the inside. I can not wait to show off my new look to everyone. I hope it makes me feel like the sexy woman my husband constantly tells me I am.

Here's some of the things I purchased:
