Too Precious

,

I have been stalking the cows behind my house to get a picture of the new baby. I'm a little surprised, but then when I think about it-it all makes sense, but I'm surprised because that little baby cow is afraid of me. I'm bigger than he is so I guess that's why. His mama sure isn't scared at all, she knows she could take me if she needed to. She's always smelling me and licking my hands so I think we're friends...or I taste good. :)

The baby spends most of his day sleeping under the shade trees but in the evenings when we are just settling down for dinner, the cows start be-bopping around the field and come to rub through our Juniper bush and eat the grass by our fence. That's when I score some close-ups of our new babe.

Isn't he cute!?!?

I really wonder what is going through their minds when they see me coming out of my house with my camera again....day after day. They must think I'm nuts.

When I found out that the cows were pregnant, I was so sure that the kids would go nutso over seeing the mama get bigger and bigger and then watching a new baby grow. As it turns out, I am SO much more excited than they are, my husband just rolls his eyes at me as I drop what I'm doing to go visit with the cows every day.
