Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

Hi there! Hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Holiday! Mine was very busy but I truly enjoyed it. So now getting back into the swing of things, here is a card I created based on the Fall To Layout #69... The leaves from PTI Beautiful Blooms were stamped in green, then with red embroidery floss I tied French Knots to create berries. Stamped the sentiment, rounded the corners and attached the stamped panel to the card base.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great start to your week!

Hi Friend

Hello there! Hope you had a great weekend. So how about an idea for those bits of scrap ribbon we all have laying around...
The ribbon strips were adhered to the left side of the card base. Next I strung buttons onto twine, wrapped the twine around a white strip of cardstock. Stamped the sentiment in black (from Beautiful Blooms) then adhered the strip over the end of the ribbon onto the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Hope you found this helpful. Have a wonderful start to your week and thanks for stopping in today!

For A Special Friend

Happy hump day to you my friends! Today I am taking a very special friend out to lunch for her birthday and this is the card I made for her... I stamped four square panels with a flower and leaf image from In Bloom, detailed the flower centers with french knots. Punched the bottom edge of the purple panel with the Fiskers Upper Crest Border Punch, stamped the sentiment and wrapped it with white floss. Stamped white tiny polka dots, from Polka Dot Basics II, on the card base.
I hope she likes it, I know she likes purple and my cards with the square panels are her favorite. Something I like to do when giving cards out is to write out the message on a piece of white computer paper then lightly tack it into place on the inside. That way the message can be easily removed and the receiver can reuse the card.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! Thanks so very much for visiting me to day!

Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge

Hi my friends, hope you had a great weekend!

So I did do some crafting this weekend, just not as much as I though I would have. We got a lot done around the house and took a fun off roading 4X4 trip on Saturday, with my hubby and son. I did have time to create a card for the Embellish Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge...Aren't these colors fabulous! Love that flower too! Here is what I came up with...
Using burgundy, orange and light orange cardstock, tearing and distressing the edges, then layering, I created a neat gradient color effect. I stamped and heat embossed the cream card base with tiny polka dots, from Polka Dot Basics II, in clear embossing powder. The embossed dots are such an awesome detail, I really LOVE the way it turned out! You have to try it! Click on the photo for a closer look.
Wrapped the edge with twine and tied with a button. Layered the leaves, from Beautiful Blooms that were stamped in orange then with cream polka dots, under the button. I chose this sentiment, from Men of Life, for the card because of it's polka dots (after all this is a polka dot challenge too). Then finished the card off with two more buttons and rounded the bottom corner. I am really happy with the way it turned out!

ETA: The latest challenge over at the Moxie Fab World Blog is Gradient Is Radiant, gradient which is achieved by color changing gradually. What a coincidence, a couple of days after I posted this card this new Moxie Fab Challenge was posted and I already had the perfect card to post. Stop on by and check out the other fabulous creations that have been submitted and give it a try your self.
Thanks for stopping in today, I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today.

Clean and Simple Blossom

Hi all and happy Wednesday! Today I have another card made for the CAS (Clean and Simple) Autumn 09 Design Team Search. The sketch challenge is to make a card based off of this card. Here is my take... Very simple. I wanted to keep the focus on the flower. The flower was cut from my Blossom Nestabilities, I embossed the largest blossom with swiss dots. The remaining smaller blossoms I crinkled up, then layered the blossoms together and held them in place with a button and thread.
Yesterday Blog Hop fun got me all excited about fall, so now I'm off to go bake banana bread! Mmmmmmm! Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

August PTI Blog Hop

This months PTI Blog Hop challenge is to create a project inspired by Autumn. Here is what I came up with...

This is my favorite time of the year, what's not to love about this season! There is so much to be inspired by... the changing of the leaves, warm fuzzy sweaters, roaring fires, rich colors and so on. My choice for adding texture was embroidery floss (no surprise there since I've been using it like crazy) and a torn and distressed edge. I stamped my Beautiful Blooms leaf image in brown then added little berries by tying french knots with red embroidery floss.

Wrapped more embroidery floss under the punched apron lace border and finished the card off with a sentiment and another cute little berry.
I find it hard to believe that fall is just around the corner, but it can't get here soon enough! So what is your favorite season of the year? I'd love to know!
Oh, and another note... I have been blogging for just over a month now and I'm loving it! I have been blessed to meet and become friends with many incredible and talented people through this outlet. Thanks to each and everyone of you who take the time to visit me!

Well thanks for hopping by! Hope you enjoyed!
