Aussie Christmas

>> Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Hey there and a big Aussie Hello to you all, it's Kasey here with another inspiration card for you for the Mad for Markers monthly challenge.

It's all about an Aussie Christmas this month, as you know, it's summer here for us at Christmas time so we'd like you to create a project using your Copic Markers that fits the Summer Christmas theme.

I've used a fabulous image from Make it Crafty, this Aussie Santa has his akubra hat on, his thongs and singlet and shorts and of course you can't forget the shades.  I used glossy accents on them and put some sparkle in his beard too!

I kept the card fairly clean and simple as it will go to a family where the boys outnumber the girls!

As you may be aware, Sammi is closing Mad for Markers Online store, she's got a sale on to clear her remaining stock.

Wishing you a fabulous Christmas!

Cheers,

An Aussie Christmas Challenge

>> Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Not just any Christmas challenge though, it's an Aussie Christmas!  Here in the southern Hemisphere, we don't get snow or cold in December, so we don't want to see cold weather on your Christmas cards, no snow, no snowflakes, no frosty scenes.

Here is another one in the making from me.  Sorry life just seems to be getting in the way around here.

That still leaves lots of sparkle and glitter and bright Christmassy colours.  I've used Christmas Present Luka and he's coloured with my beloved copic markers.  I've used Ranger Ice stickles on his santa hat, it has a lovely shine and shimmer without being too glittery.

Here is a shot of the colours used for Luka.

I hope you find time to colour up an Aussie Christmas entry and join us for this month's challenge.  Don't forget, Sammi has gift vouchers just perfect for your family to get you for Christmas so you can add to your copic addiction ummm I mean collection.

Cheers,

>> Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Hello there Copic markers fans, Kasey here with another Mad for Markers challenge, this month we want you to use those warm colours and break out the Ys and YRs in your collection.

Your project must feature mostly Ys and YRs although you can use other colours in the image.

Here I've made my first Christmas card for the year, using Christmas Lantern Marci, she's so cute and she said vintage was the go!

I just loved making this card, I haven't done vintage for a while.  The papers are Kaiser Timeless Classics, I've used Very Vanilla SU card, Vintage Photo distress ink to age the edges.  The lace is coloured with E42, it started out white!  I made the pins with some glass beads and I've used Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and Lily of the Valley sentiment and spellbinders Moroccan Motifs die which has been sponged with Vintage Photo.

Now for all the copics used here

The coat, hat and shoes are Y28 and E40, yes that's right, and they blended beautifully! then some YR31 on the trim with Sand spica added on the edges.
Dress YR31 and YR12
Hair:  Y11, 15, 23, 28
Skin:  E000, E01, E11, R20
Lantern YR27, Y15 and 0  Lemon spica and crystal effects glossy coating.

Which way is up?

>> Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Hi all, Kasey here to show you yet another fabulous use for your Multiliners.  I've recently been introduced to Zentangles.  Basically it's doodling and drawing repetitive patterns, I've done one here and used my copics to colour it up.

The question is.....Which way is up?

During the creation of a Zentangle, you end up turning your page many times, as it's an abstract design that just flows from your pen and you sort of 'zone out' or Zen while you're drawing, I guess it really doesn't matter!

Here's a couple of other angles to view it from.  I tired to get a fourth picture here but each time it loaded, it got flipped on the side, you get the idea though.

Hope you have fun doodling on your creations with multiliners and submit your work of art in our challenge this month.

If you don't have multiliners yet, then check out Sammi's Mad for Markers store for them.

I've used:

0.3 Mulitliner
R46, YR07, Y17 and Black

Cheers,

Here is one of the fabulous Saturated Canary rubber images now stocked at Mad for Markers store.

Windy Day, isn't she so cute?  I have lots of new toys to play with from Mad for Markers store, I splurged and got a little bottle of Copic Opaque White.  This image has some on her dress, hair and shoes.  Lovely to work with.  I also got a few of the Saturated Canary rubber stamps and some new La La Land ones as well, so many stamps yet to see ink!

I've really had a non creative month and it's still going!  Isn't it just awful when your mojo goes missing? All those lovely new items and no urge to create.  I did manage to colour up this fabulous image and I'm happy with the result.  I decided not to make the card up yet as I might use her on a journal page.

Colours used.
Dress, shoes and kite:  YG61, 63 & 67, E30, 33 and 35, R20 & 23
Hair:  E50, 30, 33, 13
Skin: E0000, 000, 01, 11  Eyes YG61

Let's hope your mojo is working for you and you are creating a masterpiece for this months' challenge!

Gorgeous Green Faerie Marci

>> Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying this months challenge to get those Greens and Yellow Green Copic markers out and colour up a storm!

I have to confess that the yellow greens are not my first choice, but I've made an exception here and jumped out of my comfort zone and into this fabulous combo of Purple and Yellow Greens!

There are a couple of little extras included with Daisy Faerie Marci, it's that little cluster of daises on the background paper, I've stamped and coloured that up to make my own paper.  There is also a little sentiment but I haven't used it here.

You will find the complete list of colours used on my blog, link below.

Hope you have fun creating and can't wait to see what you link up!

You deserve the Royal treatment!

>> Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Hi everyone, Kasey here.

This month at Mad for Markers the challenge is Anything Goes, as long as you've used copic markers in your creation.  We are more than happy to see scrapbook pages, off the page, journal pages, cards, 3d items, in fact, anything that you copic on, you can post it to this months challenge!
Last time I coloured 'Royal' from Some Odd Girl, she was all soft pretty purples, this time I wanted something a bit brighter and picked out some BGs.  I've fussy cut her out and popped her up with foam squares to add a little dimension from the background.

Here's a close up of Royal.

Hair:  E13; 27; 30; 39
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; R20
Dress: BG000; 01; 05  Baby blue spica

The Design Team would love to see your copic creations so link em up and join in the fun of our challenge this month.

>> Tuesday, July 17, 2012

This month's Mad for Markers challenge is turning out some totally awesome projects from both the DT and the entries.

Here is my second inspiration card.

How amazing is this image, she's just the cutest, and of course being Mod Marci, she's definitely from the 60s, she just needs some little round blue John Lennon classes to finish her look off!

I created the background paper by flicking my copic marker from the centre out to the edge, I used quite a number of colours from the Bs; BGs and BVs to keep in with the theme this week.

Background
BV: 02; 04; 11; 13
B: 02; 04
BG: 15; 49

Image:
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; R11
Hair:  E40; 43; 44; 71 Sand spica
Clothes: BV 0000; 000; 00; 11; C1; 3; 5; 7.  Lavender and Lilac Spica
Guitar: Y000; YR01; 12; 27; T2 Gold Spica

Hope to see your entry in our challenge, you could win a copy of Copicendium a little magazine produced by Sammi for Mad for Markers, it's full of fabulous tips and hints and some pretty awesome projects.

Let us see your Bs; BGs or BVs

>> Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Hello everyone, it's Kasey here, this month the challenge at Mad for Markers is to use your Copic Markers and feature the B, BG or BV colour ranges.

To me, Bs and BGs are perfect for water and I turned straight to my new Mermaid Marci to create this card.

How cute is this little Mermaid Marci?  I used lots of dots as her background in all the Blues and Blue Greens that I'd used on her tail.  I also went over her scales with a clear spica pen, this adds just enough glimmer to those scales.

I coloured some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers with my copic markers so I had the perfect embellishments.

Colours used:
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; 93
Hair: E21; 31; 33; 35
Tail: B0000; 00; 02; 04; BG000; 11; 15; 18; 72; 75
Starfish: YR02; 04; 18

Don't have all the colours you need? Then head on over to the Mad for Markers store, you can even pick up this cute little Mermaid Marci.

The Mad for Markers design team are so excited to see your creations featuring these fabulous colour ranges Bs, BGs and or BVs.

3d item

>> Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Hi all, it's Kasey here, I'm so excited! This is my very first post as the newest member of the Mad for Markers design team.  Wooo Hoooo!!! thanks Sammi for inviting me to play with your amazing Design Team for a while.

This month's challenge is all about doing something other than a card or a layout.  If you look to the entries for this month, you'll see my little flower shoes there at 1st spot.

I've also got a 3d item for you.  Shhhh it is actually a card, but what a card!  This teepee card is amazingly simple to make and such fun.

I've used three amazing Anyas on this project and they were such a joy to colour up. I've also coloured some flowers to match my Anyas.  Lots of bling and some nestie trims.  For a list of all the copic colours I've used, please go to my post here.

Sammi has a fabulous range of Copics, accessories and stamps in her store

Can't wait to see what amazing projects you come up with.

Cheers,
