LUCK because, as always with Throwback Thursday's, the showcased stamp
is on special for today ONLY. You can pick it up in the shop
HERE for only $8 (regular price $14.95)!!!!!! WOW-ZERS what a steal.
How about that bonus card I mentioned on
Sweet Stamp Shops Blog, well here it is. OMG I {heart} this set soooo much!!!
I also used SRM's
Sticker Stitches and
Love Sentiments, some seam binding, gems, and enamel dots to finish off the card.
Well anyways, I have another pretty fun card to show you guys using
Geek Chic and I think you will really love the technique. It only takes a few supplies and a few steps and the results are endless. :)
Check it out:
I
made a custom background with matching twine! To make the stamped
images set apart from the rest a bold contrast and a few embellies!!!
Fun huh??? Well I made some easy instructions for you to make this card.
Here are 3 easy step by step instructions on how to get this look:
Hint:
You will want to probably get out your craft mat for this and have some
baby wipes handy :) I usually measure out how much twine I will need by
wrapping around the card base I will be using and tying a bow. Then I
give myself a couple extra inches.
I used Natural Twine from
SRM.
Hint:
Once you have sprayed all your colors roll the twine around in the
excess spray on your mat til the twine is completely covered on all
sides. You can either set aside to dry, which may take a bit or
carefully take your heat tool and use to help speed up the drying time.
Make sure that it is
COMPLETELY DRY before using, otherwise you will get color marks all over your creation.
I used Heidi Swapp's Color Shine's in
Mustard, Peach, and Primrose.
Hint:
It is easier to work in coats. Spray a light coat of each color let dry
and then do another until you have reached the desired color shade. It
helps to prevent bleeding and blurring of your image. After you remove
your screen you can leave as is and make a card or you can do what I did
(see above picture of card) and just cut into strips or whatever you
like.
I used The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Mini Star Shower
template. If you have never used these before they have a plethora on
their website to choose from check it out
HERE.
I suggest browsing around their website too. (They don't sell directly
from their website but you can go to their locator to find the nearest
place to buy them) I have a few of them and LOVE them soooo much. You
can use them with so many different media's(mists, inks, paints, just to
name a few) it's quite addicting.
Ok so here are the supplies you will need to try out this fun technique:
And My card just incase you forgot what the end result looked like:
How fun is that. I just love love love these little wormy guys.
