Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Just Be You

One of my crafting goals for 2011 is to find some new card challenges...I participated in my first challenge in 2010 and found that not only do I enjoy them but they really get my creative juices flowing. My favourites by far have been the photo challenges....mainly the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger and The Play Date Cafe weekly challenge. On my quest to find a new challenge I stumbled upon Cupcake Inspirations...who doesn't love a cupcake? The great thing is no cupcake stamps are required...even though I do own a few :)...you just need to make a card inspired by the weekly cupcake photo!

How Divine! You get to look at wonderfully delicious and decadent images of cupcakes and not a morsel need pass you lips or lodge on your hips!

Then when you are all inspired you make a wonderful card using such great colour contrasts. I love the sentiment too.

Challenge is so important in our lives if we are to grow too isn't it Christy?

Wow what a great inspiration challenge, I absolutely love the card you have been inspired to create. Red, Black and White would have to be one of my favorite colour combos. The only problem with a Cupcake Challenge would be staring at all those beautiful cupcakes would make me hungry......lol
