WATCH THE BIRDIE

Today I thought I would share some of my recent bird finds!  I love my birdies and always find myself buying them in the thrifts.  They are great decorations and just so sweet~

I found this cute cardinal votive at a yard sale for $1
It is so pretty with the sun shining through it

A tealight holder this bird called to me
Only 75 cents so take me home
I did!
Another Cardinal.  I really liked this but it was marked $3 and that was a bit much for cheap-o me.  They said $2
So it joins my other cardinals
Can't you see it with a pretty red candle
This was bought at Cracker Barrel on clearance....I just love their little store they have the cutest stuff...under $2

Now this is where I hope you can help me.  I love my Flamingo collection and recently I found this planter in a thrift store
You can tell it is vintage
Some staining inside the planter
I tried to find out more about it but wasn't able to...here are the marks
 MADE IN CALIFORNIA
This 'V' is on the bottom...is it a makers mark? or just a scratch?
**UPDATE**
More research has found that this piece appears to be a Maddux of California pottery piece.  They made a line of Flamingos and I did find a photo of a planter like mine.
Such a lovely Flamingo!

So this is where you can leave if you aren't interested in my new Grandson...
I can't imagine you not wanting to see these pictures since he truly is the cutest baby on earth!
I saw him yesterday and he has grown.  So adorable.  When I picked him up and spoke to him, he looked me in the face and he smiled!  My heart took wings...then I said 'yes Grandma loves you' and he smiled again.  I don't think it gets much better then that!

The new family is doing well.  A little sleep deprived but
Tiger is a good baby!
My son in law is the greatest guy.  Funny, bright and creative.  He took the following photos of Tiger to surprise Sara

Enjoy!
Reading already Tiger?

 Whoops caught!

I promise not to do dangerous things Mama!
Not bad for only 4 weeks old~!

I'm linking this post to several parties:
With Diann

 With Laurie

&
With the Tablescaper

Hope you have a great weekend and a lovely Mother's day.  Sending love to my Mom and A special 1st Mother's Day wish to my Daughter!
I love you!
Always,
Linda

Too stinkin' cute! Your SIL is really funny Linda! Love your new flamingo, that V sure looks like a mark instead of a scratch, but I can't help with any info. Enjoy this very special Mother's Day Weekend:@)

First, I have to say that little Tiger is absolutely adorable! And he reminds me of my daughter at that age. All that dark hair and big brown eyes. She turned out to be gorgeous. Tiger's bound to be a heart breaker.

I love the flamingo planter. It brought back vague memories. I believe somebody, my mother or one of my grandmothers, had one. Goodness, I wish I had it now.

Oh Linda how sweet is that baby Tiger! I will forgive you the slip up, I too have the sweetest grandaughter in the world and since this world is really big, I guess we can share that title. Don't you? :D Love the pic with the book. So creative! His expressions are so adorable!

Say I love birds too. Only not in cages. The red glass bird would look lovely mixed in with my collection of Fire King Royal Ruby.
I was going to say California Pottery on the Flamingo until you updated your post. I love those too! You know Flamingo's are pink from eating shrimp. Just though I'd share that with ya. :) Love all the birds. Hugs!~ Ames
