Wow is it March already... yep must be as it was my birthday this week and my last post was in January (rubbish I know but if I had more comments I would be more inclined to keep up :) but I know I have said this before I am writing up plans at the moment for weekly updates of my online stuff and this will be one of them) I am going to keep up more regularly even if it is with no pictures or links etc

Ok well I have done loads of stuff since my last post, I will post some of the better pics here but if you want to keep a really regular follow on my projects then follow me on instagram and twitter... I am ALWAYS on instagram :)

Well to start, I am in the process of redesigning all my business stuff from website to business cards etc and even opening a new website as the old one was so complicated to change, the platform was hard work and time consuming and didn't seem very up to date in construction so I have gone for a better one and although it won't have my own designed domain name just yet, the website will be 100 times better with nicer graphics and templates to use.  I am also opening two more shops so I will eventually have one on Etsy, Big Cartel and Society6.

I have also started to update my Etsy shop with some bird jewellery that i made last year but hadn't listed, they are all handmade and hand painted and more importantly...one off's so get them while they are there because once it's gone it's gone :)

 SOOOOOO excited that the F1 season is back in less than a week...oh F1 how I have missed you !
This longing has prompted me to start a little collection of drawing each driver with my extensive collection of awesome pencils, there are two completed ones for Ferrari, Alonso and Raikkonen.. Vettel is 90% finished and I have Hamilton, Rosberg and the Ferrari F14T driven by Alonso on the go too, with any luck they will get done this week.

 

 

 

 Later this year I am hoping to hold a little exhibition of works in my studio space, all based on Birds, there will be all kinds of media used, from large canvases to ink illustrations to 3D works and jewellery, there will be items for sale but everything will be birds :)

 

New for 2014 is my range of hand made and hand picked craft kits.  Some are in the shop now and some have gone, although at this very moment I have six more sitting on my desk that need to be listed.  I have hand made all the crochet pieces, pom poms, bows etc 

There are also a few decorated notebooks available in the shop too... I am going to add more but ones that I have bound myself and as part of kits too, I am writing up workshops at the moment for online and my studio and one or two will be book binding based.

This is an example of one of my craft kits, the kit includes the bracelet and decorations, all you have to do is assemble it in whatever configuration you like, I have tried to make the nicest colour combinations and all the kits will be available for one week only at £5 plus p&p, see my instagram or facebook for notification of when that will be ready.

Had a little fun making tiny crochet squares too.

Another work in progress is a box full of hand bound miniature books waiting for covers and to put put onto necklaces and other fastenings :)

 This is one of my little icon illustrations for my new website and there are a couple available in my shop for £1 to download, one is for the F1 2014 season with lots of cool illustrations :)

Last post of 2013 !!

This is it.  The end of 2013 and beginning of a new year which is exciting just because it means I can finally use the tonnes of journals and diaries I has bought over the last couple of months.... so that means I will have about three or four on the go :D haha I can't help it, I love a nice planner/diary/journal just thinking of all the things I can write in it, how organised it will make me ...etc etc yes I am aware this lasts for a few months or weeks until I start missing days or weeks or even months, a bit like my blog posts (sorry), I am not sure if it is my settings (although I have checked this recently) or that no one is visiting my site anymore but I haven't had any feedback or comments for a very long time so I hope to rectify this with new ideas and posts in 2014 so hold on to your hats ;)

A Little look at my Studio

Hey hey, well I am struggling with my usual thousand ideas of stuff to make and do and in the midst of that I have been trying to sort out and decorate my studio.  I have to sort out decorating lots of boxes so that it look less of a mess..I do have a lot of stuff !  I'm working on making another issue of my online magazine 'icraft' with a view to doing it more regularly next year, maybe monthly or every two months hmmm have to think about it.  I am sorting out getting my workshops ready for people to sign up, probably next January now.  It is unbelievable how long th prep for all these projects takes before you can actually get to do something with it.

But for now I am going to post a few studio pics but remember this is not finished... more tidying to do...

One thing I was really pleased with was digging out my bike and F1 illustrations and paintings, some unfinished and getting them up on the wall, inspires me more with my drawing and makes me a little more focused and serious with being an artist :)

I have just listed all my current Retro Doll Pendants so get them quick, all one off handmade pieces.. I am making more as we speak and that includes earrings etc 

2013 the year so far........

Well hello my lovely peeps, I hope the new year has been good to you so far :)
I am taking a little break from making stuff to blog and update my various online sites.  I have had a great start to the year with sales and thousands of new ideas (as usual) and trying to get them all from out of my head and at least onto paper but ideally into 3d, I have made a good start and here are a few pics to show you...

 

Another new passion from last year is Crochet, I love how easy it is and much better than knitting, although the fact that I can now spend so much money of different balls of wool instead of (or as well as) all the craft stuff I'm addicted too !  So don't be surprised to see crochet stuff and new embroidery designs for sale ;)

 

My tutorials are going to be lots of different things (just need to sort out content and organise dates for them) from simple handmade journals to artwork, jewellery making in clay, gift wrapping, making your own stationery, wedding accessories and seasonal stuff like Halloween and Christmas.  I will also make individual beads and charms to buy as I always get asked about single items and kits from scrapbooking, gift wrap and stationery etc these will all be available in my shops when they are finished and I will post about it to let you know.

 

This year is going to be all about tutorials, kits and projects.  I am going to do online tutorials along with a blog and face to face tutorials throughout the year in my studio, I am going to hopefully do a couple of 'making stuff parties' to those who want to book me for kids projects or grown ups.  I'll still make things to sell as I have too many ideas not too and want to keep my shops going, my most recent idea..the Retro Dolls, are being made into so many different things from prints to cards and jewellery etc 

 

I started an online magazine last year that you might have had a look at and is available on a link on the right of this page, 'icraft' magazine.. I am still going to keep this up, not sure how often yet as i am going to make a series of online books on lots of different subjects instead of doing a general one and these will be available to buy via my shops and again I'll post it on here, facebook, instagram and twitter so join me on all of those as I update them regularly now especially instagram..it's so easy however I'm still getting the hang of the twitter thing, still don't really get it !! and Pin it just scared me...didn't want to get in trouble for pinning a pic without permission so I didn't bother but i think they have changed the policy which I need to read in which case I may suddenly become a pinning nutter !!!! which is also scary .. So on instagram I am 'littlemisscrafty'...twitter is 'julietmarshy' and there are links on this page to facebook and my magazine :)
