Linnie Blooms Canvas butterfly cards

Hi, Mayoori here.

Today I am sharing my spring cards with you, made by using linnieblooms Canvas butterflies.

The process:
  1. gesso the butterfly
  2. once dried, put blob of paint close to each other.
  3. Fold the butterfly in half and spread the paint as to cove the whole butterfly.
  4. you will get beautiful pattern of color. Then stamp it and apply some shimmer on the edges .
  5. finally wrap the wire at the center giving nice pleats.
  6. your butterfly is ready

Summer Butterflies

Karen N here from Craftily Yours, and I am super excited to meet my Design Team Challenge this month with the Linnie Blooms Butterfly Mask.  Our team was asked to highlight the Linnie Blooms Stencils or Masks and show some summer fun.

Summer fun to me is getting some time to relax by the pool or at the boat.....and watch the butterflies go by.  I used some watercolor card stock and inked around the butterfly mask with Tim Holtz distress ink in Salty Ocean and Dusty Concord.

I used the Linnie Blooms Canvas Shape (Butterfly) and spritzed it first with Dragonfly Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  Then I sprayed it Dylusions White Linen through the Circle Confetti UmWow Studio stencil and used some MME enamel dots and some bling antenna!  Here's a close-up!

I added a little glimmer mist spritz to the white twine......and I used my NEW Zutter Distrezz-It-All tool to really distress out the edges!

The patterned paper is from Prima Marketing (All About Me), and the color cardstock is AC.

Wishing you lots of butterfly dreams this summer!

Linnie Blooms is celebrating Spring

Hi Bev Code here today. I am super excited as this is my first DT design reveal at Linnie Blooms.. what amazing fun products to work with. Be sure to visit often to see what I and other DT are creating and sharing with you.
Today I am boasting a fun page to celebrate Spring using the fabulous canvas butterflies and the stencil/masking butterflies... also some fun creative alterations to the product turned out to be so much fun.

First trace the Linnie Blooms Stencil/Masks Butterflies and cut them.

Next accordian fold them and tie off with twine.

In this close up I traced another butterfly from the same stencil only this one I
cut and then embossed it and added some ink. Trimmed it with the smaller made butterfly.

Here is the side view ..it give amazing depth and texture to the page.

This close up uses the canvas cut butterfly. I used ink on an embossing folder to add colour to the butterfly.. then I stitched the centre seam on the sewing machine.

In the side view you can see the sewn section and the inking touch.

On this section the base butterfly was treated with ink on a embossing folder as the above one.
The larger accordian butterfly is added to this base canvas butterfly.

Here is the side view.. love the many layers, texture and  depth.

Be Yourself / Linnie Blooms Card Kit

Hello and Happy Friday!
Today I'm here to share a sweet card with you that I
created with some of my brand new goodies from
Linnie Blooms.
I am totally in love with this wonderful Flutter Card Kit.
For those of you like me who LOVE creating cards, it's perfect.
Using some heidi swapp color shine I sprayed the butterfly canvas die cut.
After the spray dried I just used a colored pencil to shade
the edges a bit and folded it into a pretty flower.
I like the combination of color and worn edges with this design.
Thank you for allowing me to share my card today.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Oh….Don't forget…

Hydrangea ~ Linnie Bloom Design Idea

I have been thinking about this piece for quite some time and it finally came together today. It is my latest design for Linnie Blooms using their canvas shape ~ small butterfly.

I started with one of my favorite color pallet purples and greens. After I covered my 8″ X 10″ canvas with sewing pattern tissue that I had drizzled with ink, I gave it a quick sketch of my flower and a light thin coat of white gesso. Before it dried, I wiped away some of the gesso so that the layer beneath would still show through.

I painted in the leaves, starting with a dark, transparent forest green and layered on a turquoise, moss green and bright yellow green to shape and form them a bit. The flower was dark purple and some of the white gesso mixed in here and there. I tried to keep it loose and free. A little of the darkest purple for line details around the leaves and blossom completed most of the painting portion of this piece.

To create the flower petals, I took the small butterfly canvas shapes and colored them with Gellato Paint Sticks in blues, greens, purple and pink. A light brushing with water softened the look of the petals and blended the colors together. After drying overnight, I scrunched them together and stitched the center points together as well as the folds that formed. I used a total of 13 small butterfly canvas shapes for this piece.

I arranged the petals in a pleasing arrangement on my work bench, then used hot glue to attach them to the canvas. After I removed any loose canvas and hot glue threads, I signed my piece. I think it turned out pretty well and would like to try a few more of these.
I saw some white hydrangeas yesterday that are turning brown with age. They were the prettiest shades of white, cream, touched with pink and a bit of brown. This sure would make a pretty pallet. I also would like to try more blues and purples as well as mostly pinks.
